I've got some island territories in Bretton Continent; I think I'll refer to them as the "Andorian Bretton Island Territories" or "ABIT's" for short.

Since I've got territory in the Bretton Continent, would that mean I could join the Brettonian Union? Or would that only apply to my territory there?

Maybe the ABIT's could join, but the Andorian Strip does not?

(This link could provide as a useful way to make diplomacy with the Brettonian Superpowers. The downside would be that the ABIT's could be exploited as well as something which could be threatened me.)

Let's all try not to jump the shark, though! Yes, it's an alt-world, but aiming for realism is still desireable.

Having a small military can be balanced with having each of your units be more versatile. That very philosophy is held by the Canadian Forces; the consequence, however, is that each soldier becomes tremendously expensive and your military (and budget) feels the loss of every individual active serviceman and woman killed-in-action that much more.

Black-belted soldiers is pretty cool. But one $1500 mortar shell can splash a few hundred thousand dollars worth of trained and experienced soldiers. No amount of sit-ups or roundhouse kicks will prevent that.

Just some food for thought.

Considering, every citizen must earn a black belt within their lifetime, and that their parents and school workers have gone through the same training, they'll often be trained by family and schools, which is permitted by law.

Thus, heavily reducing the cost.

Yeah! You got the ball on that!

Regarding technology and military levels, I'd guess it is up to the OP to decide. Maybe we could create a official list for this 'possible' RP group on the technologies that exist and ones that don't exist yet depending on the time that a RP in this Universe is held at; We'd label each technology with a tech level, and thus you can use that technology if your own tech level is the same or above the one of the technology.

Sure, but where does that rationale end? One country might have state-mandated sniper training, or state-funded education so that everyone is a rocket scientist and advances their tech. Maybe government-mandated and subsidised eugenics; every baby born perfect. And that society just happens to be morally cool with it, no inconvenent religious objections.

EDIT: These are just hypotheticals at this point. I actually have no objections to anything suggested yet, and we haven't even gotten started yet, so nothing is written in stone.

3.)50 rounds for each weapon

*3 - Heavily upgraded for Arctic combat - All synthetic material

4.) Personnel Protective Gear - Plate carrier, based on Interceptor and Dragon Skin body armour sets - currently issued in 'medium' configuration

5.) Khaki undershirt - With fur lining on inside

6.) Military BDU - With fur lining on inside and "Polarwater" Camouflage - Pixelated with various shades of black, dark blue, white and ice blue.

5.) Fur lined leather gloves - with fingers that can be flipped on or off, depending on heat or weapon usage. Extra thick

I want to play a small country, but if I went with what I consider small, like 30million, i'd be a pebble in the grand scheme of things where everyone is around 1billion, so i'll probably have to go bigger than that.
