Originally started out as an alliance of many small nations, some of which were city state in size. Which later formed together to from the Empire of Falconmont. This empire lasted centuries, slowly expanding its borders and warring with many smaller nations to assert its dominance in the region. And it continued to do so until the people, who had long grown tired of being oppressed and watching their son's leave for war and never return home, rose up in a decade long struggle to banish imperialism from their home. Falconians now enjoy a long, but uneasy peace, with its neighbors.

During war of course.

Of course, The EUP has an unusual law - All citizens must earn a black belt in one martial art, during their lifetime. (unless physically or mentally disabled)

All members of the Green-Black Council and their families must have at least three black belts, to even have a chance of being elected to it.

Same goes for all Special Forces, and the 'Disciples'

Well... they die. (Well, they die anyway, before the state takes action)

But, everyone is raised with a 'them and us' mentality, which leads to high military enlistment and numerous black belts per person.
