Drova jotted that one down in his head, and promised himself to ask about "Maury" later, considering it had felt like the Prince had asked a good number of questions. He was also slightly curious about the strange golf-balls that Gio had produced from the bag, considering that they had attacked him, but again, he'd save the many questions he had for later. He looked down to Torii, Drova being a few inches taller than the mature-looking girl in front of him. "Potatoes? I haven't eaten yet, planned on getting food outside and such, but sure." He nodded with a smile. "And hey, if you don't want to go." He turned to Gio. "I'll still go with you." He turned back to Torii, coordinated with his promise.

Sandy heard Itum's knock before Amanda did, being a bit more used to listening for odd things. Despite his slow reactions, he caught the closing elevator door with his hand before Itum finished speaking. Turning to his wife, Sandy said, "Hm, Itum seems more sober than expected. Looks like you get to play politics after all. I'll take care of business."

Amanda stared blankly at Sandy for a moment before his unexpected words sunk in. "Oh! He's at the door!". She turned back towards Kwa'a and Rmwtyliin. "Excuse me, ladies, Candidate Itum wants my help." She gave them a parting smile, stepped from the elevator, and hustled down the hall. About half-way home, she called out to Septimus. "Mr. Itum? Over here! You almost missed us! We were heading out to do some shopping."

Reaching her apartment door, Amanda quickly unlocked it and showed Septimus in. "You'll have to excuse the state of the apartment. We weren't expecting guests so early." Amanda's laptop and its external screen were still on the kitchen table, a few kitchen cabinets stood open, and several pots and pans rested on a kitchen counter. Otherwise, the apartment seemed neat and orderly.

Amanda gestured to the sofa and chairs surrounding a coffee table in the living room. "Please, have a seat. Would you like something to drink, Candidate Itum?"

Torsiedelle wrote:"That sounds likes a plan.", Jasmine nodded. "I, personally, don't want to meet the candidate. I want to see a performance, or maybe start my own, you know? Where there's fun and a little risk...eh?"

She hopped up and stretched, popping her back. Well, I'm just a wanderer, an entertainer and helper. If you lead, I'll follow!"

Charlotte smiled. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all. "All right. When is it again? I forget..." Of course. You're so helpless. Pathetic. It's disgusting, really. Well, then, why don't you start being helpful and helping me figure out a way to get rid of you? You wouldn't have to bother with me anymore. Because it's pointless, we both know you're too useless to get it right. You can't do anything right, can you? I officially give you permission to SHUT UP! My, my, touchy... but since you're finally standing up for yourself, I'll leave you alone. For now.

Neil answered the door with a box full of bear traps land mines and a couple sentry guns with fading paint jobs. "Helllooo, sorry about the wait. something is eating at the wiring. Is there something I can help you with?" he asked as further down the hall Scarface was forcing something with shadowy tentacles back into an elevator.

"Umm..." Willow gave a mildly worried look to the odd scenes before him, but chose to focus on more important things. "Hello, good sir doctor! I came over to let you know that I have decided to hold a charity at the Market District festival today, the proceedings of which go to the families who lost children in the recent attack on the museum." He pushed his nose into his saddlebag and pulled out a paper form with his mouth, setting it on his hoof. "I'm selling art, of course. I heard that your butler is a painter, and was wondering if there might be anything he'd like to contribute for the greater good?" The pony put on his best professional smile.

"It's not that I'm scared," Giovenith protested, blushing deeply. "Just I thought there might weird scheduling is all. We can still go." The teen still felt a burning spotlight whenever Torii teased about Marcus, and she wondered when the time would come where they'd have to talk about what happened at the carnival. Hopefully not too soon.

Northwest Slobovia wrote:Sandy looked at their faces; Kwa'a's triggered recognition. He spoke as he stepped into the elevator. "Oh, hello! You're... the woman who was also talking to Willow last night at the rally. Sorry, I didn't catch your name. I'm Sandy Bela, and this is my wife Amanda."

Amanda looked the woman and the girl over with a polite smile. "Hello, glad to meet you both." Amanda stole a glance at the elevator controls and pressed the lobby button before turning back to Kwa'a and Rmwtyliin... She turned back towards Kwa'a and Rmwtyliin. "Excuse me, ladies, Candidate Itum wants my help." She gave them a parting smile, stepped from the elevator, and hustled down the hall.
Rmwtyliin stared through the closing doors. With the way that Septimus had captured the crowd and fought - with words - for everyone's rights... Of course she had met politicians before, but the rally the previous night had been something special. She was a little starstruck, seeing the man who seemed to have been chiefly responsible in person, in her own place of residence.

She wanted to wave; she didn't. He wasn't likely to see, and she was aware that that sort of thing might be misconstrued.

Meanwhile, Kwa'a turned to face Sandy, although she had to crane her neck somewhat.

"KwA'A." Not wanting further mispronunciation to occur, she really enunciated the short a's this time around.

(An embarrassed Rmwtyliin resolved to figure out how to produce the sound. It could not be that difficult, correct?)

"I offered protect Charlotte - does she need protection? Also, I thought, for keep "scary spirit" part from harm much - and, if idea bad is, ignore it..." Now how had she put it? (To the part of herself yelling that she didn't want to do this, what if she caused another event like the one which had ended the Savage Era, she pointed out that she probably hadn't caused the event, just failed to prevent it, and maybe she could prevent something else by saying this, and anyway, wasn't this supposed to be a new start for her, a second -)

Second chance! "Show this as new chance for...for deserving person. Murdered. Second chance, here, for many. Maybe her?"

Rmwtyliin appeared to be hard at work on her improvised bracelet still, but a close observer would realize that she had already finished - it was a simple piece of cord with a loop and a knot - and was merely poking her fingers through the yarn.

She had started paying close attention when Charlotte had been mentioned, and closer when her rather unassuming guardian had offered to protect the girl. From who? How? She felt sorry for the woman, valiantly stumbling through the language -

She wad so embarrassed. "Duncan, please translate amongst the three of us, as you did last night." Sometime soon she would need to give him a proper thank-you. Now what did translator rats appreciate? She would have asked the person who had given him to her, but had not seen the woman since.

Septimus turned and offered a polite smile as the formidable lawyer - well-disguised as a plain-looking wizard's wife, though her luscious hair drew his gaze for a moment - briskly jogged down the hallway to let him into her and her husband's apartment. The cyborg tried to recall meeting her husband, Sandy, but he could not remember ever shaking his hand or even meeting him face-to-face. He didn't seem very interested in legal issues or in politics, so Septimus shook off the lack of familiarity. The men would have time to get oriented after this crisis passed.

"My apologies, Mrs. Bela," he gestured for her to enter first, following and closing the door behind him, "The evening took it out of me - been a while since I was on the political circuit in any serious manner. And this is my first time dealing with a democratic system as an electoral candidate; forgive my misleading statements prior. I am a politician but I am not a democrat."

Her preemptive apologies for the condition of the apartment sent a slight chuckle through him, "Trust me, Mrs. Bela. This isn't the worst place I've had to meet in for political affairs. At the very least, it doesn't stink like a sewer."

Taking one of the offered chairs in the living room, he reclined and crossed his legs as he fully awoke, cracking his knuckles as he composed himself, "It's Septimus, Mrs. Bela - Candidate Itum is reserved for the press and constituency. I think people I seek for advice deserve first-name basis. And tea would be fine, thank you. Otherwise, just a glass of water."

The cyborg cleared his throat as he waited for Amanda to procure a drink for him and herself, "Let's get down to business, then. How did I do last night? I stumbled on Thirteen, I understand, and Mr. Ono had to bail me out. However, I would like your advice on my overall performance. As I mentioned earlier, I've only worked in democracies from the position of an outsider: the Board utilized me as a liaison before I was appointed to Head Diplomat, and during that time I negotiated with democratically-elected governors and senators to carry out the Board's demands. Now, I have the privilege of being one of those officials, and I have to admit it has me a little nervous."

"Excellent!", Torii hugged Gio with one arm. "Though I don't wanna force you. Where is that boy anyway, Marcus? Don't tell me he's all cooped up like Drova is all the time.", She said. Her expression became a little more serious for a moment. "I'm worried about him. I'm worried about all of you guys. I just want to have fun and push all of this stupid stuff out of my head for a bit."

Her smile widened again as she let go, although it seemed just a little stressed. "I'm sure we'll see some cool stuff. I might go buy a camera for my sister anyway."

...........

"I think it's already started?"

Jasmine didn't know. Still, it was early. If it had begun, then they'd still be early enough to do some stuff before the crowds came in!

The people were to set out bright and early. There you have it.

There was more to it originally. Long, romantic sentences whereby Minerva and Otto said many tender things. Entire paragraphs dedicated to sweet moments from a child's perspective. Humor liberally splashing across the page with grim dark tidbits tucked in the corners for good measure. It took a long while to craft and I was extremely proud of myself for it. No sooner than I submitted it than [v] took the site down for maintenance and I, in my fallacy, deleted the unnecessary file before checking to see if the post took. Gone! Gone, I lament, and thus much beer was consumed in the aftermath. Fucking Japanese efficiency. Is it any wonder our culture promotes giant robots and cat petting salons rather than something useful?

Deuce, hand a brick to me.

"What brick?"

Any brick. It's for the wall.

"Haven't got a brick, I haven't. Will my head do?"

... Yes, precious man, your head will do. Let's get moving. I don't have much time left. Damn yappy fennec's biting at the ankles. I'd kick her but she'd turn and peel her face off like some fucked up Visitor from that crappy miniseries back in the 80's. HISSSSSSSSS!

The people were to set out bright and early. Each had his or her own appointments to keep but all had gathered in the wee morning hours for a nice pancake breakfast. It would have been waffles but Thaddeus lost the iron in the divorce settlement. They parted ways shortly thereafter and now we come to our current place in this story.

Deuce set Sophie and the baby on the grass. Nash turned his head towards the astartes and

Oh for fuck's sake!

No, the baby didn't say that. I did. I fucking hate being pestered while I work. Oh sure, it works for Septimus, but the real life version is a nightmare. Fine deer. I'll insert your character. Never mind that I have only a few minutes left to peace and quiet.

MINERVA strutted down the hall with the usual amount of jiggling under her perfectly tight leather....

One piece? Has anyone ever been able to determine what exactly this woman wears to conceal nearly every last inch of flesh. Some secretly believe it's leathery trousers and shirt. Feh. I believe it's nothing but belts and buckles. Klaus could have told you but that titular moment succumbed to the OSRS mandates thus he technically never saw her undress.

....outfit. She paused at the Guild's apartment to knock upon their door.

And that's it. I've literally run out of time tonight. Yup, c'est la vie. Now I'll have to wing it.

Wait. Are forums down. AGAIN?

*rubs temples* mmmmhhmm 南無妙法蓮華経. I'm not going through this again. Let's slap words up and call it a day.

The shadows around the Building were a little more busy than usual that morning as various cultists and their leaders set out to accomplish their morning goals. Most would vote. The rest would see to it that no foul play occurred during the day-long event.

Ocho sent a brief text to Amanda to inquire about her plans for the late afternoon. He had already voted and was now nursing an exotic coffee blend and relaxing at a bistro table in front of the Brisby's tea shop.

"It's fine, Torii." Drova shook his head. "It's . . . It's always fun being with you guys." He nodded. Deep inside, he couldn't stop thinking, thinking about how he had treated the poor girl, thinking about how she probably hated him for it, and . . . Thinking about how he couldn't keep her out of his thoughts. It was definitely his teenage mind to blame, but the poor Prince couldn't believe his luck in having a friend like Torii.

If only she were Pyersai He repeated in his mind, over and over again.

"And you're not needy." He smiled.

"Oh, Stavropol was decent.", Katya admitted. "It's a big city, with skyscrapers and modern roads, and a giant transit system, but it's also dotted with traditional Romanesque temples, and the leader of the nation lives in a lavish palace, with a huge courtyard. It sits at the end of the city's main street, where a lot of military parades take place. There are flags and propaganda centers all over, but also malls and stores, and museums, and a Chinese quarter in the southeast. The people are very nice, fashion is all the rage, and talk about the gun culture! Every carries a gun, but that's the law. There's also a military base, weapons manufacturing plant, and an international air port, and some labs."

Yeah, her home city wasn't too bad...

"As a kid, I played music and some sport, like tennis, or swimming. Me and my classmates liked to go to the arcade, and play "Dance Dance Revolution", or go skating, or even see a movie. Sometimes, we'd watch the boys mess with their cars or play American Football, or go to a restaurant near my neighborhood run by an old veteran, who served really good American style food, like burgers and fries. I also remember, when we fought in the Ossettian war, our city was a popular place for Russian soldiers to come, so we met a few. I still think our soldiers are better, personally, but Russians are nice, too.", She commented. "I actually got held up to really high expectations by my mother, so she obviously didn't like me staying out, but when I did get to hang out, I loved it. I had a tight curfew, though. I'd probably get shot if I told my mom that I skipped school once or twice to hang out.", She chuckled. "Still, I eventually got tired of living there, and so I started looking around, and ended up here. I'm glad I met my sister here, or else who knows where I would be now?"

...

Torii snickered. "Maybe not? I think I am, but I can't blame myself. This is the best place I've ever lived. I love you all. Hey, you think if we do go I can bring my TF gun? I needed to stop by the raptors some time anyway, and I still got my old setting on it, like when I turned myself into a fairy, or a Pyersai.", She said. "That's why Yuna gave me robes for me birthday, hehe. I haven't played with it in a while, so I might just leave it at home and use it later. Anyways, I'm ready when you all are!"

The Building, Going Down

After Amanda left the elevator, Sandy pressed the close-doors button, they responded, and the elevator began to descend to the lobby.

Fvaarniimar wrote:Second chance! "Show this as new chance for...for deserving person. Murdered. Second chance, here, for many. Maybe her?"

Sandy looked at her with intense concentration as she spoke, struggling to make out what she meant. Got it! I think. "Yes, she'll probably need protection. Advice, at least, on what to do and what not to do. But that's easy to give her. Most importantly, I think--"

Fvaarniimar wrote:"Duncan, please translate amongst the three of us, as you did last night."

Sandy paused when he heard Rmwtyliin's unfamiliar language, and stopped cold when a small animal clinging to her shoulder, looking like nothing so much as a rat that had been taking a long bath, spoke in English. Sandy thought he'd seen pictures of similar animals before, but he couldn't identify it. Apparently it was a stunningly ugly Babel Fish of some sort. Might as well see what it has to say for itself. Perhaps it can make more sense of Kwa'a's fragmented English.

The Building, Apartment 6C

Highfort wrote:"My apologies, Mrs.

A politician who admits he's a liar is a rare thing. But a politician from what? Some sort of technological dystopia? Is he so happy he's an alpha? The answers would have to wait; that wasn't the sort of thing one asked a guest as they stepped though the door.

Highfort wrote:Her preemptive apologies for the condition of the apartment sent a slight chuckle through him, "Trust me, Mrs. Bela. This isn't the worst place I've had to meet in for political affairs. At the very least, it doesn't stink like a sewer."

Septimus' statement drew Amanda up short, and she gave him a hard look. What the hell did he mean by that comparison!? She spoke with a bit of frost in her voice. "Mmm, yes, the evening did take a bit out of you. Still tired, I see: a little off last night's smooth delivery." She decided to forego any other reply for the moment; Mr. Itum was a guest, and one from another culture at that.

Highfort wrote:"How did I do last night? I stumbled on Thirteen, I understand, and Mr. Ono had to bail me out. However, I would like your advice on my overall performance."

Amanda fetched the tea supplies from the pantry, taking the opportunity to close cabinet and cupboard doors as she did so. Tea was one of the few drinks she had a typical well-organized household's variety of, Sandy having concluding that tea-drinkers were too fussy to be worth trying to satisfy. Along the way, she started another pot of Sandy's Special coffee for herself; this could be a long meeting.

A message from Ocho arrived with its usual theme music; Amanda mumbled a polite excuse to Septimus as she sent a reply: "Free after 1pm". That should allow more than enough time for lunch.

Amanda returned to the living room, carrying a tray bearing a box of loose and bagged teas, the usual tea utensils, a tea cup and saucer, and a freshly-microwaved glass teakettle full of water. The tray also bore her coffee mug, which she took up after setting the tray down on the coffee table. Amanda sat down on the sofa, across the table from Septimus.

After taking a sip of coffee, Amanda switched to her best meet-the-client voice. "There are a number ways I can answer your question, Candidate Itum. I think I might be able to give you the most useful feedback if I had a better understanding of the government you represented and your roles in it. With some idea of what you're used to, we can frame the discussion both in terms of that and the norms of democratic governments."

She extended a hand to shake his and as she did so she breathed deeply of his scent and eyed with a measured gaze. "I don't think I've ever eaten anything like you before" she said lazily as her skin suddenly shifted too a black, green and brown pattern of the anaconda while her entire body seemed to grow a bit longer and her grip suddenly tightened by a very small but noticeable fraction. Not enough to restrain the raptor but enough to be jarring.

"The sentiment is mutual though not as openly expressed in this time and place." Arthur replied as he observed the shifts. He was fairly confident she was Luxan from the details he was able to gleam, otherwise he was mistaken and it was all a coincidence.

Her body subtly shifted to a different shade of black and green while it maintained its scaled complexion as she channeled a different type of snake. Her grip relaxed and she let go of his hand her hunger suddenly peaked. "Well I am languidly famished from my long travels and I simply must find something unique to incorporate into my biomorphic field. I can guarantee whoever you want in there isn't going to meet with your for at least a week." She said pointing to the Luxans apartment. "However, if you take my someplace where I can dine on something new perhaps I can help you?."

Giovenith sighed, though not unhappily. She looked at her two friends caught up in their small joys, living in a little moment like it was all that mattered, nearly unwary of the journey ahead. There could have easily been a moment where she brought up the obvious dangers about them, reminded them of that darkness on the horizon... but no. Not now. Let the moment shine when it could.

"I'm ready now," she smiled. "I think Marcus has my number, if he needs us."

"O-Oh," Willow rubbed the back of his head, genuinely taken aback by the offer. "Yeah, I can do that, if you'd like. I'm sure the families would really appreciate that, and I've definitely got enough time to put a piece together."

About the Silent Hill trip? My, my, what a grim subject matter, though. He'd painted cynical pieces before, but nothing of quite this level of darkness. He could do it though, especially for the cause.

"Shall we, Mister Scarface?" he peered around Neil, giving a polite smile to the brutish butler. What even was he? Oh well, oddities were welcome and even begged for in the art world. "Your pieces?"

"Still, I eventually got tired of living there, and so I started looking around, and ended up here. I'm glad I met my sister here, or else who knows where I would be now?"

Thriller chuckled along, "Yes, who knows where you would have been. Though from what it sounds like, you and I shared an almost identical childhood, though just take out Russian soldiers and replace them with Russian mafia. And same with my mom...Step mom, I mean. Just add in a belt somewhere and a few other side things that made me fear and love my step mom. Hell, the only time she let me stay out was when I had myself a girlfriend, and even then she had to meet my step mom before we could even go out on to the town."

"If he needs us, sure. I just wanted to know if he wanted to be with us. You should cherish fun times with your friends when you can.", Torii nodded. "Especially at times like this, when they can be the only things keeping you from turning cold and cynical. I'm tired of being cynical, so I find happy things to keep me happy."

....

"Mafia? Dear me."

Katya chuckled alongside him. "Well, at least you can say you love your step-mother. My mother is a pain, honestly, wretched woman. May I ask, totally unrelated question, do you think I'm a bitter person? My mother is, and I'm afraid of being like her, I must admit."

Thriller stopped for a moment and looked down at Katya. He had to admit, he hardly knew her, except for a few other occasions but even then, those really do not count so much. "Maybe. Maybe not. Perhaps you are possibly an honest person but people tent to take it the wrong way. Same with your intentions. Point is, do you think you are a bitter person? To me, though if you are asking for my opinion, you are not, but again, it comes down to you."

"I'm ready as well, and I definitely wouldn't mind the company of Marcus either." Drova nodded, appreciating the idea of another guy accompanying them on their trip to see the activities to choose from in the town. "But if he's busy, we shouldn't really bother him, right?" He nodded, looking to both girls in turn, eyes settling again on Torii, almost instinctively. He blushed when he heard Torii mention that she could become a Pyersai, and the idea of her wearing robes was almost too much, but he managed to keep himself calm.

From downy he hall, Edge saw a familiar face, she could recognize the voice it belonged to anywhere. She also saw the figure of a much taller man, someone new that she doesn’t know, maybe a new possible friend. Anyway, she casually walked over towards the two with a bright smile. She wondered how Katya would react to seeing her again, hopefully something positive. Tsu told her of how Torii reacted once first meeting each other after her disappearance. But she knew she left on better terms than her sick sister and it shouldn’t be that bad for her. Edge would just have to wait till she talks to her again.

“Sorry to interrupt...~ But...Hi Katya...and good morning to you Sir~” She said stopping in front of them. “Nice to see you again,Katty!” She turned to Thriller. “It’s also nice to meet you, I felt like i’ve seen you here before, but I’m not to sure.”

"Well, I mean, I don't think I'm a bitter person.", Replied Katya, twiddling her thumbs. "I try and be positive, and set a good example for my little sister, but that's about it, and-"

She jumped. God, Edge scared her, and...wait...

"Edge?!", The other girl looked surprised. She had to stare at her old friend for a good few seconds, taking it all in to make sure that it really was Tsu's sister. When she was sure it was, she was very happy.

Katya beckoned for her friend to come over. "Oh my god, I haven't seen you in over a year! How are you, when did you get back?", She asked. "I was just talking to Mister Thriller here!"

"You think what?" Maybe he would get to it later...Probably, he wanted Kwa'a to repeat herself first.

"Like I was saying, I'm willing to protect Charlotte. I've had a lot of practice with a slingshot. I'm not too bad with a gun." Rmwtyliin, hearing the translation, flinched; the closest available translation was a description of what a gun was. She had seen a few. They were scary.

"I don't know if she actually needs protection. She's a spirit. She might be able to protect herself." The girl frowned - MIGHT? Of course a spirit could protect herself... Oh. But as she had thought earlier, Charlotte might be a different sort of spirit. One with less power, and who might not appreciate the same level of respect.

"Other people might be better for this, but you said that they might be unwilling to help her. I'm willing to try, although Rmwtyliin -" she pointed - "Will be my priority. She is my ward, and both of our cultures take that very seriously, or at the very least they did." Hearing that portion, the Fvaarniimarn nodded.

"Next, I have an idea - the idea is to portray being here, in Bielefeld, as a second chance for Charlotte. Emphasize the murder part if you need to, to portray her as someone who deserves that chance. If you can do that, it might keep the scary spirit part of this from hurting our cause or making her as much of a target. She might even gain some sympathy." Kwa'a took a deep breath before continuing.

"That said, I have a terrible history with this sort of thing. Make sure that this is a good idea - you seem to know what you're doing. And if it isn't, if it's a bad idea, then please, please, please don't use it.

"Now -" she switched to English. "Most importantly, I think..." In Sharedspeak, she asked, "Please continue with what you were saying?" Rmwtyliin, having by that time abandoned all pretense of being more interested in her bracelet (now on her wrist) than in the conversation, nodded.

Thriller glanced over at Edge. His eyebrow raised with curiosity as he tried to examine her. She seemed like a decent person but who wa- Katya answered it: Edge. Edge... What an edgy name for someone. Thriller thought as he listened to the two converse, cracking a smile not for the two friends meeting up but for his stupid pun... Which was stupid.

Ever so grateful to meet new people, Thriller extended his arm out for a handshake, "Nice to meet you, Edge. As you heard, I am Thriller, Cornelius Thriller. Those who are under my command call me Kaiser from time to time."

“I just got back today, i went to check on Tsu first, She’s sick like a dog with rabies.” She griped Thriller’s name firmly and shook it. Thriller..so does he lurk in the dark at midnight during a thrilling night?. Edge made a quick chuckle in her head, maybe she’ll try to tease Thriller with that. “Nice to meet you to, my real name isn’t Edge, it’s Vasilia Busujima, they call me Edge..because...well..um....”

Edge paused for a second to think, why do people exactly call her Edge?..It was odd that she doesn’t even know the answer to that, as far she could remember to the first time she was called “Edge”, was from a memory she could barely remember, she only saw Scarlet, her younger sister, back when they were like 10 and 9, they were in a forest from what she could see, but only heard “Edge” coming from her sister. “I actually don’t know why...they just call me Edge...I have a memory of the first i was called Edge...but...half of it is missing...lots of memories from when i was around 12 and younger are missing pieces and bits.”
