Above is a map of suggested NPCs.

Added are as following:
-The Union of New England (Northern Maine is part of Canada bc historically that did not become part of Maine for like 40 some years)
-The Maryland Republic
-The Commonwealth of Virginia
-The Republic of Kentucky
-The Grand Floridian Republic
-The division of Louisiana how I think it was supposed to be
-Some Louisiana-Arkansas-Mississippi nation (Midwestern Confederation?)

I also changed the color of Minnesota-Illinois bc almost identical to South Carolina.

Thoughts?

Brief Description of your Economy: The economy of Massachusetts is booming currently. Boston was historically one of the largest and most productive ports in the entire Western Hemisphere, equal to if not better than rival ports like Philadelphia and New York. After the revolution, trade began with formerly-closed ports like Shanghai and Tripoli. Boston merchants presently circle the globe, bringing their riches and wealth back into Boston in the form of luxurious residences and plenty of taxable income. Boston also plays a leading role at one end of the Triangle Trade, with plenty of the wealth of rich Southern gentlemen finding their way into a Boston merchant's purse at the expense of the African slaves being imported to the Southern colonies by the shipload. The textile industry is currently growing, as is the And as always, the fishing and whaling industries employ plenty of the populace for moderate returns financially. The light tax loads and easy custom duties ensures Boston's continuing status as one of - arguably THE - busiest ports in the hemisphere, but a result is that the Massachusetts government doesn't really get all that big of a cut of the profits. The government has no difficulty making ends meet, but it doesn't have the massive surplus that you'd expect from a nation built around a port this strong.

Also, the Springfield Armory is, as of 1800, the largest and oldest source of weapons in the colonies. In 1793, the Springfield Armory contained brass ordnance, howitzers, traveling carriages, shot strapt, canisters filled, quilted grape, iron shot, shells, powder, musket ball, cylinders, caps, paper cartridges, fuzes filled, muskets, swords, various military stores, and implements. In 1795, the Springfield Armory produced the new world's first musket, the Model 1795.
Goals: To establish Boston as the most important port in the world, to expand into other ports worldwide, to expand hegemony over other nation-states in the region, to be on the forefront of technology and education going forward, to popularize the use of the Massachusetts pound in the Americas, and to maintain top-notch relations with all sides of European conflicts

History:

I. Conclusion of the War of Independence
The War for Independence had begun in Massachusetts, and no one was more glad to see it end than the patriots in Boston. Independence had been won, at long last! With good intentions and great ideas, Massachusetts sent delegates to Pennsylvania to organize the government of America going forward. But, as we all know about good intentions, they aren't always realized. The delegates returned to Massachusetts with nothing but bad news about the failure to create a federal government. Some were disappointed, but equal amounts were pleased with their ability to dictate their own future as a nation. John Adams took the helm of Massachusetts politics almost immediately, shaping it and molding it into an effective independent Commonwealth.

II. Formation of the Commonwealth
A Constitution had been in place since before independence was even a serious idea, and it had done them well. But several tweaks were needed for it to function without any assistance from a higher government. In a series of meetings, John Adams, Henry Knox, John Brooks, Henry Jackson, David Cobb, Benjamin Pierce, Peleg Wadsworth, and Artemas Ward headlined the opinionated council meetings in a manner that ended well for the nation. The Governor's term was extended to four years: other than that, only minor changes were made to make the whole thing more modern, efficient, and effective. The Revised Massachusetts Constitution was passed with virtually no opposition in August 1884.

III. The Whiskey Rebellion
The Whiskey Rebellion Rebellion was a minor rebellion which forced the state to establish a more coherent military structure. It started on August 29, 1786. It was precipitated by several factors: financial difficulties brought about by a post-war economic depression, a credit squeeze caused by a lack of hard currency, and the loss of interaction with other states following the end of the Union. Protesters, including many war veterans, shut down county courts in the later months of 1786 to stop the judicial hearings for tax and debt collection. The protesters became radicalized against the state government following the arrests of some of their leaders, and began to organize an armed force. A militia raised as a private army defeated a rebel attempt to seize the Springfield Armory in late January 1787, killing four and wounding 20. The main rebel force was scattered on February 4, 1787, after a surprise attack on their camp in Petersham, Massachusetts. Scattered resistance continued until June 1787, with the single most significant action being an incident in Sheffield in late February, where 30 rebels were wounded (one mortally) in a skirmish with government troops. The conclusion of the rebellion was reached, and legislation began passing to muster a professional standing army to better combat future conflicts of the like and to generally maintain order.

IV. Acquiescence of the Florida Keys
The Florida Keys (known as Tortugas from this point on) are in a strategic position for goods coming around the continent. Several Boston merchants gambled on the future value of the port of New Orleans by offering money to the government of Massachusetts in exchange for protection in their establishing of several small towns in the beautiful islands known as Tortugas. The government decided they stood to loose little, even if the venture failed, and agreed. The colonization of the islands has progressed in a manner more-or-less on schedule. Tortugas has, on a daily basis, a large amount of vessels passing through it or storing sugar on it before taking the sugar to be turned into rum or molasses in New England. Conflict with Spain [or whoever owns Southern Florida] appears inevitable, but the Massachusetts merchants surely have the strongest claim one could have on the islands.

VI. Formation of the Greater New England Commonwealth
VII. Current State of Affairs

After the war Virginia delegates refused to enter a large, central powered nation and ended up being one of the causes for the USA failing. Their years after leaving were unstable, with Natives attacking frontier towns and other States trespassing on disputed territory. President Jonathan Heather-son may have been their first president, but he was certainly not remembered kindly.
In 1786 Adam Quince took the Presidential office and began the job of building up their nation into a New World superpower. Loans were taken from France to help rebuild the economy and frontiers. Quince also began sending militias to clear Virginia of natives, hoping to be rid of them finally. He also began building up Virginias ports, allowing the fishing and trading economies to grow.
In 1792 Adam Quince left office and John Baker went in. While Baker continued building up ports and the economies, he took up an isolationist stance, cutting relations with all nations except France, who they continued to pay back their loans. Baker instead focused on expanding farther and farther west to make more farms and cities, making the way for Virginia's power. He was even harsher on the natives than Quince and many were killed under his rule.
In 1798 James Monroe became president, luckily. Baker was not well liked and many hoped President Monroe would be more like Quince. That he was, focusing on building up the economy and establishing relations with fellow Dixie nations. He also quietly cut off the loans to France, hoping they wouldn't notice in the confusion Europe was in. One thing he has done differently is be kinder to the natives, for reasons unknown. How he will do is up to the future to decide...

The Pope, still not content with his holdings, then called for a crusade to retake the Holy Land. This war, known as the 9th Crusade, is still going on, with the majority of the Papal Military in the Holy Land. Despite the constant warring, Pope Pius VII remains in Rome, dictating the Papacy.

Brief Description of your Economy: The Ohioan economy is largely based on agricultural products at the time because of a lack of industry except in a few cities. But with the resources of Northern Michigan being opened up to exploitation industries are starting to spring up along the Ohio River and the Great Lakes.
Goals: To maintain Ohioan Independence and potentially expand westward.
History: Following the failed Philadelphia Conference in 1783 some colonists from the new countries in the East (Primarily New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) moved west into the disputed territories of the Old Northwest. Over the years the colonists of the region began to develop a separate identity as they were completely different from the people on the other sides of the Appalachians, the Ohioans were individual farmers settling out on the plains of the region unlike the Plantations in the South or the Trading communities in the North. On October 2nd, 1793 delegates met from several regions of the territory to discuss forming a proper government in the absence of an Imperial or Coastal Authority. Over the next two months the delegates hammered out a constitution and symbols to represent the new born nation.
