Brief Description of your Economy: Ligurian agriculture has increased its specialisation pattern in high-quality products (flowers, wine, olive oil) and has thus managed to maintain the gross value-added per worker at a level much higher than the national average. The value of flower production represents over 75% of the agriculture sector turnover, followed by animal farming (11.2%) and vegetable growing (6.4%). Banking was one of the most efficient source of revenue as loans and deposits are handed to Genoese bankers. After the subsequent fall of Venice under Austrian rule, Genoa became the new banking center in the Mediterranean.

The Ligurians had been the most economically wealthy Italian maritime republic since the fall of Venice in 1797. History: Genoa continued its slow decline in the 18th century. In 1742 the last possession of the Genoese in the Mediterranean, the island fortress of Tabarka, was lost to the Bey of Tunis.

Genoa reluctantly entered into the War of the Austrian succession in 1745. The Genoese supported the Bourbon French and Spain in order to prevent their mortal enemy the Kingdom of Sardinia from annexing the Mark of Finale Ligure, which would cut the republic in half. This decision resulted in a string of disasters— surrender to the Austrians on 6 September 1746 and the occupation of the city. There was a great popular insurrection in December 1746, precipitated by a boy named Giovan Battista Perasso and nicknamed Balilla, who threw a stone at an Austrian official and became a national hero to later generations. The Austrian were expelled, but returned for an unsuccessful Siege of Genoa in 1747. At least Genoa retained Finale in the Peace of Aix-la-Chapelle. Being unable to retain its rule in Corsica, where the rebel Corsican Republic was proclaimed in 1755, in 1768 Genoa was forced by the endemic rebellion to sell claim to Corsica to the French and so Corsica was ceded in the Treaty of Versailles of 1768.

An economic revival in the 1780s took place. A new Directorate was elected from the aristocratic few by the popular majority after a new Constitution was drawn and ratified by popular referendum.

Brief Description of your Economy: Mexico runs on it's resources. Being a large exporter of precious minerals, as well as being large on exporting agricultural products, the country has created a stable economy based on it's resources. Due to it's location, it too has become a major stop for merchants coming in from either sides of it's coasts. The government tends not to interfere with it's economy and allows it to run it's course freely. Major exports of Mexico are: Gold, Silver, Wood, and Cash Crops.
