I edited the app. It now says "Of everyone in your nation" I believe if we were to put "Slave population" on there, it would only lead to players in the Americas putting down large numbers that would only increase their population.

I would think population would include all humans living in a given area, not just the ones considered citizens (as that is IC). But, I would agree that nations allowing indentured servitude have a separate population category, or at the very least asterisk population numbers and explain if slaves count, how much they count for, and their actual numbers.

Brief Description of your Economy: The Republic relies heavily on fur trapping and trade with other nations to support its economy. The economy will suffer if either of these begun to slow down to a halt.
Goals: Create a single nation around the Great Lakes and spread the French culture around the region.
History: Le République de l'Ouest started out as a territory of New France, providing the Empire with furs and other valuable commodities. After the Seven Year's War, when the territories were transferred to Britain, the French citizens of the North West Territory were angered by the change of government.

Years later, in 1776, the French along Lake Michigan began to fight against the British rule over the territory, feeling empowered by the recent gains made by the Continental Congress to the east. The first conflict occurred when the colonists, under the command of Louis Burnell, attacked Fort Saint-Louis. The sudden attack caught the soldiers off guard, allowing the colonists to overrun the fort and seize its arsenal.

Over the next four years, the French colonists launched several attacks on the British, securing the territories of what we know as the Upper Peninsula, along with Wisconsin and Illinois. However, the rebels did not win every fight. Three months after an Illini Council declared the Republic independent, In the winter of 1778, British vessels laid siege to Chicago. For three nights, the fleet bombarded the proclaimed capital.

However, through determination, the republic survived. On August 1st, 1779, the British surrendered the territory to the Colonists and acknowledged their sovereignty. From here on, the Illini Council acted as the entire government, with Chancelier Lawrence Cavelier acting as Head of State. This government presided over the Republic for three years, until 1782, when Président Benoit Anders, a war hero, was elected to office. Through Anders, a peaceful approach to natives living in the Republic was formed, while he focused on building up a large navy to patrol the Great Lakes.

Now, the Republic is under the control of Thybault Leblanc, who wishes to expand the Republic's power and spread French culture throughout the Great Lakes and North America as a whole.
