The year is 2020. North America is in chaos. After a law was passed in 2014 that allowed the government to watch your every move, Civil War broke out. The United States collasped, and Canada and Mexico collasped about a month after. It's been roughly a year since Canada and Mexico collasped and the rest of the world blocked off communication with North America, leaving it in the dark.

Hey there. My name is Greater Kashmir, and I made this topic. There is an ooc, where you can sign up, and a link will be posted eventually. So basically, You can play as any Former American/Mexican State, Canadian Province, or nation that still exists. The Federal Republic of Greater New York has announced plans to rebuild major sections of the capital, New York City. Hopefully, this will be able to employ tens of thousands of people in massive work projects. The New Yorker Parliament has begun to significantly raise taxes for the wealthy, while decreasing those for the poor. The entire educational system is being worked on and improved. The Ministry of Defence has also announced plans to reduce the size of the military, but not by much. Generals begin to plan a possible offensive conducted by the New Yorker military in an attempt to secure and annex the rest of Vermont.

King Owen prepared his outfit for a public appearance. He hated the dress up but endured it all the same. When the USA became anarchy, nobody noticed his rise in Greenland. He wore his spaulders, robe, crown and sword. All of this to obey the three traits of a king. Smart. Strong. Feared. He wasn't married yet but he was young. He was king of Greenland and he was only 22. He constantly looked at his targets on the map. With an evil smile, he exited the palace doors.

Dozens of generals, senior officers, and commanders are to convene in the Empire State Building to discuss a new military doctrine. They wish to create a competent, efficient, flexible and professional fighting force; new methods of training, weapons and even new leadership will probably be the results of this meeting. Rations, effective ways to supply New Yorker soldiers, etc. will all be discussed in the meeting.

A strict rationing system has been introduced. Following several major food and water shortages in several counties, water conservation and rationing is becoming more strict. The government has appointed councils to monitor the situations in each counties, and are responsible for providing the government with accurate lists of the required levels of water and food for each county. The Parliament has also begun passing legislation allowing more benefits to farmers as well as encouraging them to use modern agricultural techniques.

LOS ANGELES, CAPITAL OF THE FEDERAL CALIFORNIAN REPUBLIC:

Ms. President, I come with grave news!¨ Shouted the Washington Ambassador to California. ¨Oregon has invaded Washington!¨ Shauna stared at the ambassador, saying ¨And that concerns California how?¨ The ambassador gasped. ¨W-w-w-well because Washington is a sovereign nation! And Oregon invaded us for no reason!¨ At this Shauna started paying attention. ¨What? Oregon didn't have a reason to invade Washington?¨ The ambassador nodded furiously. ¨Well, tell the Washington government that if Seattle is taken over, they're welcome to stay at LA. In the meantime, I'm going to move troops to the Oregon border. And tell them to shoo from Washington. California will help you!¨ She said, puffing out her chest and taking a heroic pose after she said the last part.

Troops have been stationed in major cities in order to prevent looting, theft, and civil unrest as a result of these shortages. Local law enforcement units have also been ordered to station police officers in rural and suburban communities. The government has also encouraged people not to waste fuel on their cars, as fuel shortages begin to impact the nation. The Ministry of Education has announced that reforms will include drastic changes to what students are required to learn, better wages for student and school staff, as well as the construction of hundreds, if not thousands of schools across the nation, and an increased budget for education.

The government has also launched programs in a nationwide effort to use cleaner, more renewable energy. However, this most likely will have little to no impact on the nation, as of right now, due to inaquedate funding and a lack of interest. Civilians are encouraged to recycle and not to waste food, water, and other supplies.

The Oregon conflict with Washington reaches the ears of the New Yorker government, but aside from being the front headlines of several newspapers for a couple of days, it does not receive a lot of publicity in the nation. The government has issued a weak condemnation on Oregon for its "imperialist ways" and unjustified invasion, but other than that no real action is taken.

The fires burning criminals rage on as King Owen I steps onto his balcony. All the people in attendance fall to their knees.
"My people. You never made a wiser decision than making me king. I might be Welsh, but I will lead this country to greatness. Over the next few months I will prove to you my capability as a leader." Owen turned and walked back into his palace.
He took of his outfit and wore his normal brown suit. He sat and wrote a message to his Defence Minister, Matthieu. He ordered him to send men to the Port of Uummannaq. As the Danish left their men deserted, he would use them for himself.

Massaging his temple, the Prime Minister groaned as he stared at the stack of papers he had to complete before the end of the day. He had only just won the recent elections, and initially, as the election results came out, felt a surge of pride and accomplishment. Having been born in a relatively poor family, he got mostly average grades in school; it was a wonder how he became the Prime Minister. His opponents often criticized him for lacking the "intelligence" to lead.
As he sat there staring off into space, he shook his head. Although he could feel a migraine coming, he needed to focus on his work...it would just mean more trouble for him if he didn't.

Suddenly his aide - a middle aged woman who was only recently appointed - burst in. "Sir, I apologize for intruding but this is rather urgent" She paused, before continuing, "May I continue?" Glad for an excuse to get away from his work, the Prime Minister spoke up, "Yes. You may continue."

Oscar knew that Puerto Rico was very weak military wise.No navy,no Air Force,and a small army yet highly trained by US Forces that stayed after the Fall of the US.He had to remake the country.They had been able to capture a small force of destroyers/Cruisers/Friagtes,an aircraft carrier and an Ohio Class that the US had docked in Puerto Rico.They would build more destroyers if the economy improved but know he prayed that no country took notice.He needed time.A lot of time.....but it could be done.

Currently the invasion on Minnesota has gone on for about a week, more updates will be given to the outside world as time goes on.

"They have nothing. They are the least populous with most of them being Inuits. And before you bite my head off, I had a casus belli."
Matthieu was still concerned. "What was it, your grace?"
"Retaliation for the raiding of trade vessels, and the sinking of the HMS Sparrow." Owen smiled slyly as he said this.
"They did that?!"
"That's what I told the world."
The young Frenchman hesitated. "I'll do what I can, your grace." He then stormed out of the room.

Whether he liked it or not, they were at war. And Owen was just beginning.

A propaganda leaflet has been increasingly popular in New York and has almost become a symbol in the "allied" effort against the "axis" of evil; it depicts 5 soldiers, both in their distinctive country's uniforms, stamping out a serpent, which appears to be on a map of Wisconsin. Under it, it has the bold words: "Freedom and Justice for all!" In other news, the National socialist party has staged a walk out, refusing to participate in further government meetings? They have publicly declared support for Wisconsin, justifying their actions in liberating the nations and showing them the glories of national socialism. However, several senior [National Socialist] party officials have been murdered following their declaration of support to Wisconsin; the perpetrators are unknown, but an investigation has been launched by police in an attempt to catch the murderers.
