Alright, thanks for being so civil and partially agreeing to the proposal - I'm afraid that my nation would oppose your occupation of these countries and we would have a very long fight ahead of us. Initially you would make large gains but then you would get stalled and stuff

Currently I think I'm going to try to at least take michigan Iowa and Minnesota, whether or not your army defends michigan, it will be the only state I will be invading, and thus will be very hard for you to defend.

Let's say you agreed to decrease your military, and with that much manpower, managed to get this far from instability and civil unrest within the countries you just invaded, as well as the incompetence and inexperience of military generals and officers commanding the militaries of those countries. And let's say we were caught totally off guard, or just thought that you wouldn't have the balls to actually attack us, thus catching us off guard. Or maybe we can just screw everything that happened since you attacked and say you're currently invading Minnesota. Which would be kinda confusing

While the OP did not touch on this, I'm fairly certain that there is an American Government in exile somewhere, as I find it unlikely that anyone would just go and wipe out the government. Meaning this would be entirely illegitimate. Meaning very few people would support it, because right now the states (most of them anyways) are enjoying their new-found independence.

I recommend, as you just said, invading one state at a time. I agree with your statement that it will be difficult for me to defend, since I won't be sending a lot of troops (let's say I have 45,000 there right now), but I have allies too I think

It's basically if I decide to have this rebellion or not, but basically it would be controlled by me in a sense, just not directly, ultimately they are in my favor and give me land to govern if I decide that I want this to happen, as america split up becouse of rights and they are giving the people what they wanted in the first place.
