Shapeshifter: Hektor can shapeshift in to large Corruption Tiger. It's about the size of a normal tiger, with black fur and light-blue stripes. It's eyes glow a blue-green color.

Widow's Kiss/Corruption Kiss: Corruption flows through Hektor's veins. By kissing another person, he temporarily allows the Corruption to enter their mind, causing them dark, angry thoughts for about a day.

Caspar's Gold: Is basically the same.

Dragonfly Bomb: Basically the same, but with Corruption fire, which burns hot and cold at the same time. The main difference is that he can control fire that he creates.

Darkness Fog: He can create a fog of darkness that normal people can't see in.

Night-vision: He can see in the dark like a Corruption creature

Note that he will have a weakness to light, and things that affect the Corruption.

Wait are corrupted creatures vampires? Also if someone did the widow's kiss/ corruption kiss I would think that the magic wouldn't leave them considering how powerful a mage would be. Such as if a very powerful mage tied in with the corruption did widow's kiss they could possess another players body and control them using the corruption. Just thinking about that gives me chills.
Also just wondering Terin for my light dagger if I muttered an incantation for my character could the dagger light up and perhaps deal more damage to corrupted creatures?

Uh, yeah, that may be, but for a RP, it's kind of overpowered and godmoddy, so, that's why it's like the way it is.

Yeah. There are anti-corruption chants that even just normal people can do, so, yeah.

Also, no they are not vampires.

Name: Jena Jovaneille (Pronounced: Yena Yoh-ven-aye-yuh)

[Appearance:]

Age: 17

Gender: Female

[Bio:]
She was born in Maoclya, like many of her crew mates. She was raised by her father in the eastern-most cities of the province. He taught her to hunt, to fend for herself, because they were so poor most of what they had was handmade. She enjoyed life though, and her father even scraped enough money for her to go to school in he city proper. She had friends and spent her days learning and playing, but it wouldn't last, like most stories of Derakith, there was never peace for very long.

Her King was assassinated, this led to war with a majority of the kingdom's neighbors, but even with such terrible chances it could only get worse. While the prince, now King, blamed the neighboring kingdoms, the true culprits came to light when a civil war started. In the confusion of her city's sacking, Jena and her father were enslaved and separated. She was sold to a merchant family, doing trivial work on the ships and docks to serve her new masters.

Then came her 17th birthday, and by her master's unusual code of honor, she was set free. But Jena didn't know what to do with herself now, she'd not been free to do as she wished in so long. She spent a week earning some coins as a dockhand, disguised as a boy to get a fair wage. But at the week' send there were murmurings of a faulty Light Wall in the north. That was when Hektor came, his caravan hurriedly unpacking on the docks as he bought a ship and hired whoever was nearby; namely, Jena.

Now part of a crew doing various jobs for a spectacular amount of money, Jena thought life couldn't be better. Then she was found out by Hektor's first mate, Hélios. He discovered she was a girl, but luckily he was a fair man, and though he suspected Hektor wouldn't care, he was persuaded to keep silent about her gender. That was when life truly started to take off for her, it was merely a week later that she and Hélios began secretly courting, or at least that was the polite term for what they did.

Some months later saw the return to Celais, their primary market in the west. The city was on fire and she couldn't shake the dread that settled in her heart when Hektor decided to go ashore.

[Equipment:]
Spark's Cutlass: purchased in tech-savvy Derakith, is a sword like any normal cutlass, but it has a shock function fueled by a battery in the hilt.
Tiny Canon: a small canon she made herself, it straps around her forearm securely and fires a small cannonball. It's loaded in small packs of three.
Snap-Knives: A collection of knives strapped into her boots, cuffs, and other convenient places. When pushed in a certain way they will slide out for quick and subtle use.

Religion: N/A, her family never practiced so she grew up without faith in any higher powers.

Accepted, just remember that both genders are seen as equal in most places of Eskelles.

Makes sense that the would be less so in Derakith, though :P

Things very quickly got overpowered.... Hmm, or at least it seems like it. The situation was overpowered if nothing else.

Let me explain how this went down before you set the hounds on me for godmoding. The city was already on fire, and kicked up on the juice of being freshly corrupted Hektor was able to make his own fire burn using the magic of the town, located in magic-heavy Astiana, as fuel. This kept most of the fire isolated to the buildings where magic would have clung to after so many years of it's use in the area, since it was on the buildings and not the streets, Hektor didn't need to control it, the only reason he would is to keep it away from himself, which isn't needed here. Thus the only magic Hektor was expending was; changing normal fire into Corrupted fire, giving nearby fires the smallest amount of magic he could to keep them jumping from house to house, bending small amounts of fire, creating the smog, and finally, freezing the men's blood.

I conclude that with his abilities Hektor is a very powerful man, but he only starts becoming ridiculous if he's left to shape the environment to his liking, aka, starting a magic fire that both burns and freezes, which causes buildings/trees to fall on people, strange frozen ash that solidifies into ice-like mounds when exposed to icy temperatures which are also produced by large amounts of burning things. I think any fast warrior or crafty spellcaster could easily match Hektor blow for blow, it's just the NPCs that are unlucky.

Alrighty, I've said my piece. If it is preferred then I'll redo my post, but in my opinion I don't think there will be any problems with his power levels, still, I leave it for the OP/most-logical-argument to decide.

Celais is a city I made up about halfway up the coast of Areawen. It's served as a small trade hub for the last few months, but now it's been utterly destroyed. I don't know where you are, but feel free to use Celais however you want.

One thing I'm not sure about with your post is the stone being on fire. Stone can't burn, Corruption fire or not.

Also, whatever emotions he's feeling wouldn't affect the voices in his head. They would slowly fade away. He would also probably not really care about his friend being dead. And no one dislikes being taken over by Corruption once they're taken over.

Just a few minor, basically unimportant things.

My internet is absolutely atrocious right now. It is completely impossible to do anything, it's just so slow and frustrating that I won't even try to do anything. Instead I'll just shunt aside the complaints with my best logical arguments. First; stone burns because the magic of the town was fueling the corrupted fire causing it to be somewhat magic itself, and since magic is unstable/unpredictable/ridiculous it was capable of burning whatever it wanted to. Second; I'm chalking Hektor's unique behavior to only just being corrupted and lingering chemicals in the brain, the ones responsible for feeling emotions, being left behind from just before being corrupted.

I don't know for sure if chemicals make you feel emotions, but it sounds right to me and I'm to tired to look it up. Not that I could. And did I mention being tired? Soooooo tired! Sorry if I come off as rude, to be honest I was rude, but it's only because I'm too tired to think of ways to say everything nicely. And finally, if my arguments are not of acceptable quality then I will edit my post. Eventually. Right now interwebs be wack. It's telling me I'm spelling wack wrong... I think whack means something different to what I'm saying. I'm tired.

If lingering magic affected how powerful mage's magic could be, they would all be a lot more powerful. A mage's power is limited to, well, their power. Outside magic like that doesn't change it.

Ademar walked to the front of the ship and sat down. He took out a canteen from one of his bandoliers, and drank some water while watching the sea spread out in front of the ship as it made its way out of the harbour.

"Why would I save you if I were trying to kill you?" Saulomon asked, crossing his arms. He then uncrossed his arms and wrote a quick design on the deck, then slammed his staff down in the middle of it. It flashed, light streaming outward when it did so, then faded, along with their headaches. A headache was one of the simplest things to fix with magic, because there wasn't really any physical damage to heal, like there would be with a cut.

Saulomon made his way over to the bow of the ship, looking off in to the ocean.

There are over 200 different types of headaches. I'd assume they'd be near-impossible to fix with magic, and most attempts would kill or at least lobotomize the recipient. Diagnosing the cause of the headache would be utterly beyond medieval science, and randomly messing around in the head with magic typically wouldn't end well. I suppose magic could dull all pain-receptors in the head, which might work, but that could lead to headaches that are symptoms of serious problems being dulled by magic and ignored.

But if you want a better response than that, he's not targeting anything. The magic itself is targeting the issue. So he doesn't need the slightest bit of medical knowledge to heal people, nor does any mage who does a healing spell. That would kind of defeat the point in using magic :P

So, basically, the magic finds what's wrong and fixes it.

I always imagined that magic was like having developer mode turned on for the universe, not like having all the cheats turned on, but I guess you're the op. :lol2:

Shouldn't developer mode be more powerful than having cheats turned on? :P

That's like comparing apples to oranges. Developer mode has the potential to be more powerful, but if you don't know the commands or the syntax then you're not going to do much except maybe corrupt your saves, whereas cheats can be nice and simple things like infinite health and a gun that shoots exploding hedgehogs. Actually, I guess that's not very much like comparing apples to oranges. Probably more like comparing a nice handy smartphone to Tianhe-2.
