If someone really wants to cause harm to the children of the Emperor, the palace is the last place they need to be because you'd have all sorts of assassins and what not trying to pry their way in. Instead, better to let everyone think they're tucked away in the Palace. Instead, Lucian will probably send them somewhere else...

Sure, but I'd suggest that the Lord High Steward be aware of their position, else he might become quite anxious about the whole thing about the Emperor's Blades controlling the heirs to the Empire.

Oh, I'm sure he would. After all, why would a newly-promoted Commander of the Emperor's Blades want to hide the children of the Emperor if not but to protect them..?

Alright. So here is what I was thinking would be an interesting plot device for the future of the RP.

As everyone knows, Lucian is the Commander of the Blades. What everyone doesn't know is that the House of Shan'ara has been plotting the fall of the Emperor for quite some time. They orchestrated the death of the former Commander of the Blades by way of poison and carefully maneuvered Lucian into position to take the former Commander's place. Then, when the time was right, they waited. When news that the Emperor was going hawking, all it took was some loosening on the straps of the horse's saddle and voila. Emperor's dead. Now, with the Emperor dead and the children pretty much ending up in Lucian's hands, they plan to have Rischard marry Cassyndra so that he might assume the throne in her name.

Of course, this idea can be thrown out the window. Agadar's post got me thinking and I wanted to run it by you guys and hear if you think it's a worthwhile plot idea or not. I also know there are a few holes in it so..yeah. We can dismiss this idea if you guys don't like it.

Seems rather cliche if you ask me. Then again, your guys are half-elvish, so being backstabbing dicks is in their blood. :p

EDIT: Not to mention the plan has enormous gaps in it. Why on earth would the lords of the empire just bend the knee to some guy who forced a princess to marry him?

Yeah. Giving it more thought makes it seem pretty stupid and cliche and you also make an excellent point as to why it wouldn't work. Scrap it than. I'll have the Shan'ara go back to being good guys for the moment.

1. Emperor dies
2. Magistratum elects temporary regent until Caer Aard. (Are we doing this soon or no?)
3. Lords decide at Caer Aard who the heir is (if any) and whether or not said heir needs a regent.

Do I have it down or am I still horribly confused?

Also, the seat of House Craemwen, Caburth, is it a port or no? If possible I want to visit him on my voyage south.

Could I also add a couple of new family members? In my haste to complete my app I failed to see the merits of having some adolescent members.

Yeah, we're doing the meeting in the Imperial Magistratum then fast forward to Caer Aard. The Lord High Steward will make the journey upstream by bost, and ofcourse the Imperial Magistratum are allowed to accompany. Also, I would suggest that the possible heirs accompany so that the lords of the realm may decide properly.

I don't like the idea of taking the heirs to Caer Aard. Too many possibilities of one of the Lords taking advantage of all the Emperor's heirs located in one spot. Better to keep the possibility removed altogether.

You guys have been busy while I was asleep. Very nice.

My character, Túlmíj... Just thinking about it, I may make him less scheming now and more formerly scheming. Just because I already have horrible characters. I don't want too many.
Please note: I roleplay with a fixed MT population of around 5,000,000.

I'm going to be focusing on the clash between family ties and duty for Lucian. With other characters, I'm not so sure. Rischard never wanted to be heir to the Duchy of Sangreal. Now, he's heir and being forced to take on such duties as the heir of Sangreal is expected to take on when he's lived a life of debauchery and hedonism before now. His father has been pushing it on him even harder as of late due to finding out he has a sickness with no cure. Haven't figured out what i want him to have yet. The Duke's wife, however, is planning on making sure that her children assume control of Sangreal after her husband's passing and it had been mostly her manipulations that had caused Lucian to abdicate his claim as heir and become an Emperor's Blade.

I think they mean Segardis.
Arkotania is in control of them, and they haven't posted in the affirmative or negative.
