Seems legit, I sometimes wonder how much better off the USSR would have been with Trotsky.

Better in some ways, worse in others. WWII would have been very different as Trotsky wasn't nearly as ready to enter a war as Stalin was. Domestically it probably would have been really great for the soviet people, but if Khrushchev managed to take power (or even Stalin himself) after Trotsky's death then it probably would have been even worse than what really happened.
China is anyone's guess.

Well not really. He died poor, and outlived all of his children because he couldn't afford to bring them to the doctor for the various diseases they all got.

I'm not a communist, I'm a socialist. I don't believe that Utopian Communism is possible, and the planned economy is a very bad idea. We need the bourgeoisie as they usually hold the intellectuals. The only way for the people's liberation is through teamwork and cooperation, not purges and hostile takeovers.
