Sky stood up and bowed his head in respect, like Razor Wing, and said in a somewhat shaky and nervous voice, "Um, thank you sir. Well, I guess my beginnings would be when I was born. I was born and raised in Cloudsdale, not really doing the best at school but not terrible either, and I lived a fairly normal life, despite my, um, being a changeling...."

Sky finished his speech and waited for questions, the adrenaline rush now dying and giving him a reminder of why he was nervous in the first place. Sky had never been comfortable with speaking in front of any crowd, it just made him real nervous.

The committees weren't sure whether Sky was done. It felt too brief. But after a few seconds, the members shrugged and started asking questions. Pinwheel Dreams, an Agrarian on the Social Justice Committee, gave the first.

"Mr. Sprinter, has anypony ever suspected you of being a changeling until now, and if so, how often, and could you please elaborate on it?"

"No, as far as I know, nopony has ever suspected me of being a changeling. The ponies I've been near to never seem to think that they could be talking to a changeling, and it helped that I lived entirely in Equestria, so I had the same experiences that anypony in Cloudsdale would have as a foal, minus some close-calls with discovery." Sky replied. The pause before the questions worried him but he felt relieved that things seemed to go smoothly.

Pinwheel Dreams nodded. "Okay."

Some members seemed to be a little skeptical of this answer. "Mr. Sprinter," said Mauve Legato. "When Tirek went stealing everypony's magic there were a number of ponies that were revealed to be changelings in the process, and at least some were run out of their towns. You said you lived in Cloudsdale... was that, being exposed as a changeling in Cloudsdale, because, well, I'm guessing you were, your motivation for moving to Ponyville? I'm not saying anypony found you as one, but I'm still curious."

Muckraker snarled. She had an idea that this would not end well. Clearly it's obvious to the committees that Razor Wing and his people were simply too peaceful to posses such a sadistic weapon as the Baron-Z Disruptor. Not only that but Muckraker found it difficult to think of a solution to their current problem.
"This was your idea, Smokescreen." whispered Muckraker, "What do you think would make a good excuse to get these fools on our side?"

Smoky Topaz sighed. She spied another mare coming into the bathroom. "Hold on," she said and switched to Equestrian. "But Muckraker, that's too extreme, especially for the Blues. That would mean that every district would need to be subject to preclearance if there's even a single donkey registered to vote there." The mare passed into the bathroom again and Smoky continued back into Changeling.

"Well the only real option here is to fess up, of course," she winked with a frown. "We can't sustain this lie long without making us look like traitors. The real Muckraker's got millions of bits from the exposés that made her famous. Say you got the disruptor from a back-alley dealer because you wanted to find favor with the defense contractors and you wanted something big again just like your writing days."

And in Ponyville, about a day or so ago, there was this guard who seemed suspicious of me, one of Princess Twilight's. I, um, don't know how that slipped my mind. I'm honestly not all that good at remembering things sometimes... Back on my move from Cloudsdale, I actually had been planning on moving for quite a while before that, I had just about worked up the nerve to do it just as Tirek was stealing everypony's magic. Things like asking for my identification card, my name and address, what I had eaten recently, and um... I think about what was in that something, some scones if I remember correctly... One acted a bit pushy and the other was more laid-back with his questioning," Sky answered. He hadn't brought Derpy, his sister, nor Green into this whole thing thankfully, but perhaps it would have been better to mention them...

Muckraker blinked at Topaz's suggestion. The idea sounded bad as it would get her in big trouble. Then again it's herself that would be having her reputation destroyed, but rather the real Muckraker. So the imposter nodded in agreement.
"Very well." said Muckraker, "When should I 'fess up', Smoky? After the current meeting perhaps?"

After all, the Agrarians value Honesty above all else, so they -- and everyone else, really -- might go easier on you if you make the confession look unpressured. Tell Princess Luna that you want to make a special announcement to the floor before the deputies cast their votes, and then you can tell your story. Now go! It seems the other bathrooms are all crowding up..."

She then brought herself back to the questioning. "So, have you, or anyone in your family had an interest in joining the Royal Guard, and if so, would you or any of them feel more comfortable joining the Guard if they could do so openly?

Professor Valleyfall said that changelings are able to identify each other by smell... do you know if that's true, and if so, if changelings do have some sort of unique smell that ponies can't smell? Do they--"

"Very well, Miss. Smoky Topaz." said the imposter before leaving the bathroom and heading to Princess Luna's office.
The Princess of the Night was surprised by Muckraker's visit, but not disturbed as she clearly didn't really have anything to do at the moment. She smiled at Muckraker warmly. However, she she sensed something... odd, about her visitor.
"Why hello, Miss. Muckraker." greeted Luna, "How may I help you?"
Muckraker gave her a nervous look, both real and pretend. She was nervous about how Smokey Topaz's plan would work out. However, she also wanted to pretend to be ashamed about the lie she made during the meeting.
"Princess Luna, before the vote, I would like to make a special announcement." said Muckraker.
"Oh?" said Princess Luna, giving Muckraker an odd look, "What sort of announcement?"
"I prefer to tell you when I'm ready, which will be during the vote."
"I see." said Luna, after giving Muckraker a long look, "I shall allow your announcement to take place as you wish."
"Thank you." said Muckraker, before leaving the office, returning to her comrade, Smokey Topaz.
Luna puzzled her chin afterward. There was something off about Muckraker, but she couldn't quite put her hoof on it.

And you said, I remember, that you had to learn how to best feed without harming anypony. From your experience, which is more correct? How often do you active-feed?"
