That's mostly because the Syndic said that was exactly what the Emperor was going to do and obtained a veto from it.

Doesn't matter how it happened, it did.

He didn't kill your leader, so why should you care? Ofc a few years down the line once he's stabilized everything he might come after you anyway. But now, it looks like he is not (bc Anglios attempted smash)

Not entirely. There was a very pan-Germanistic (hue that is such an incorrect term but fuck it) feeling around Germany at the time of the Dinner at Munich. The main bulwark to the creation of a united Germany was not that the states and people within them did not want to create a united Germany, it was because - unlike Oldenburg and Baden - they did not want to join Bavaria they wanted to join Germany. Apart from the immediate families of the nobles murdered and any vigorous supporters they had - which would probably not be many - I wager that most Germans would very much be Pro-Bavaria/Germany at the moment. Heck, it's the Anglois and Scots who want to intervene in their affairs, anyway, who cares what they're fighting for, in the German's opinion it's none of their business.

And let the Hansaeatic Navy terrorize the Baltic? Nope.
Perhaps diplomatically, or through an integration of the Germanic Peoples but he keeps autonomy but I'm not invading the Hansa.

One more question. Sorry.

What is this whole "Free Savoy Republic" thing that I am apparently involved in?

Kind of. I'm too busy to actively do anything, but I'll do Hanseatic reactions if anything major happens concerning the Hansa.

The Duke of Savoy died with no heir or immediate family to succeed him. The Duke of Milan and King of Naples both had claims to the throne as cadet branches of the House of Savoy. General Hollande, first minister to the old Duke, retained nominal control of the Duchy. Factions within his government appealed to numerous nations whilst Milan and Naples prepared to press their claims. Republican factions within the government appealed to Aragon who subsequently guaranteed the independence of the nation, on the basis that a new, liberal constitution similar to that of Aragon had been promised. When Milan invaded Savoy, Aragon involved themselves, occupying Toulon and declaring the Free Republic of Savoy, a new liberal regime under the influence of the Aragonese military, and inviting Hollande to become its President as he was the true heir to the Duke's authority in the absence of a suitable blood heir. General Hollande accepted. Meanwhile, 50,000 Milanese troops marched towards Geneva to apprehend Hollande and integrate him into the new Milanese regime that was to control Savoy upon its integration, however he escape with his loyalist army and is marching towards friendly Toulon.

With the backing of Hollande and diplomatic recognition by Spain, the Anglois, Venice and perhaps others I may be forgetting as well as presumably NPCs, Aragon felt it was in a secure enough position to demand Milan leave Savoyard territory on threat of war, with a week to respond.

As all this is happening Naples is funding pro-Italian rebels whilst factions engage in civil war on the streets of non-occupied areas, e.g pro-Milanese Italians fighting pro-independence Occitans in Grenoble perhaps.

Citing an excerpt from the letter of Bavaria to Baden: "that now the Duchy of Baden will join the Kingdom of Bavaria as the beginnings of the ideals of a Pan German Nation" Some nobles wished for it and it happened. Admitted, some years passed by, but I don't see any proper reason for it to be a movement that reaches the masses.

TBH I see no reason why the nobility would support German unification.

IRL it was always a varyingly-leftist popular movement.

Someone was asking about relations?

For Soko, pretty much every relevant European either loves us or trades with us happily, and Naples is kinda the exception, because y'know, they need to compensate for having the weakest economy in Italy by hating on an African nation that doesn't even know/care that they exist.
