China is more powerful and actually shares a border with Afghanistan.

China is far more suitable to turn Afghanistan into a protectorate.

I already have resources there as well. Australia was heavily influenced by British government as recent as 1986. We still share very close bonds.

And if that's the case then why don't I have the rest of Europe lodged under my protection?

Then I will annex Iberia and the rest of Europe. I want high influence countries outside of Europe, all in Europe can simply join as full sectors.
