Aether - Horror Create your own adventure - P2MV version

AETHER

Image

Idea came from Guinea pig version.

This time, the adventure will be creepy... or at least, It will try to be creepy. Anyway, Just like in Many other CYOA, you can vote for options that weren't listed, just be sure that what you suggest makes rational sense. Otherwise, you might end up killing our character.

Current inventory:

-Matchbox - empty.
-Rusty Scissor.
-Tiny Screwdriver.

Injuries:
None

What happened so far:
Turn 0: Woke up in a dark room
Turn 1: Match lit... button pushed... nothing happened, except for we wasted 1 Match.
Turn 2: Explored the rest of the room where we started. Yet another Match lost.
Turn 3: Opened a door that leads out of the room. Used up last Match but found another light sauce.
Turn 4: Took some tools and a book, left the dark room for the gloomy corridor.
Turn 5: Read the Instructions manual. Now we know how to operate a Difference engine.
Turn 6: Took the lamp with ourselves, heard strange sound coming from machine room

Ok, Here we start:

You wake up... You remember nothing. You are surrounded by darkness. Some strange urge tells you to search your pockets. You find a pack of matches. You light one of the matches and now there is light!

Image

Now, You can see a large metal door right in front of you. There is also a panel on a nearby wall with a Lever and a button. You can't make out the text above them...

Now what?
A: Try to open the door
B: Pull the lever
C: Push the Button
D: Explore the room where we are (-1 Match)

You decide to walk to the panel and press the button... nothing happens, except for your match goes out... You still remember where the door and the lever is.

Now What to do:
A: Pull the lever in the dark.
B: Go to the door and try to open it in the dark.
C: Explore the room in the dark.
D: light a match and preform option A
E: light a match and preform option B
F: light a match and preform option C

You light one of the 2 remaining matches and venture into the dark. In the other side of the room, You stumble upon a large machine covered with cogs and bolts and levers. There is also a metal table holding some old tools and a book with the title "instructions manual". Finally, there is another large metal door in the corner. As you look around the room, you can hear screams in the distance... Suddenly, You feel very cold and hungry.
Now what?

(Warning, only 1 matches left!)
A: Use last match to read some of the instructions manual. Has a chance of setting it on fire.
B: Set the book on fire to provide light and warmth.
C: Try to open the door in the dark.
D: Light a Match and than Try to open the door.
E: Pull random levers on the machine in the dark
F: Light a Match and than Pull random levers on the machine.
G: Find your way back to the other side of the room in the dark.
H: - Anything you have in mind - May Interact with up to 2 inventory items and/or one external item (machine, Book, Old tools, Table...)

Your heart pounds with great pace as the last match is lit. Thanks to the now illuminated instructions painted on the door, You learn that you have to pull a 3 small levers and than turn a large wheel in order to open the door. The Match goes out before you can finish the procedure, but luckily you still remember what you have to do. The wheel is very hard to turn, but after a minute of hard work you manage to open the door.

Image

There is a dim light now coming from the corridor outside... What should we do now?
A: Explore outside
x: Take the book with ourselves
y: Take the old tools with ourselves
B: Pull random levers on the large machine
C: Once again, anything that makes rational sense.

Note, x and y options can be preformed along with others.
Use A+x+y formula.

You take the old tools... A tiny screwdriver and a rusty scissor. You put them in your pockets and with the book in your hand, You leave the dark room through the metal door to explore the corridor. You can feel fresh, but cold air streaming trough this area. You quickly reach an intersection where lies a large standing neon lamp. It doesn't seem to be a built-in part of the interior as there are cables leading from it to a battery in a corner. You can see 2 other corridors leading from the intersection. There is text written on the corridor's walls. The one you came from reads:
<= Difference engine <=
While the other 2 corridors have "Machine Room" and "Reactor" written on their walls. Both corridors have a metal door at their end. You already know how to open them.
Finally, there is an elevator door at the intersection, but the elevator seems to be out of order.

A: Visit the machine room
B: Visit the reactor
C: Try to read the book in the light.
x: Try to move the neon lamp where you go.

C got two votes,
B got one
x got 2 votes
no x got 1

C + x it is than!

The Instructions Manual contains useful instructions on how to operate the difference engine. On one of the pages you find notes written with red ink: "Do NOT put punch cards into the reader. Its broken. Use the keyboard instead." The note recalls a memory of you smashing the difference engine into tiny bits with a hammer... but you are unsure if this really happened. The book is a rather heavy read, but somehow you feel as if you knew it by heart!

After spending a few minutes reading the book, you try to move the neon lamp... Success! Its not bolted into the ground and neither is the battery. Its a little heavy though, so carrying it around will be a tiring task.

Now what? (note: feel free to add new options)

A: Visit the machine room
B: Visit the reactor
C: Re-Visit the difference engine
x: Move the neon lamp where you go.
