Short Bio- Adapa is from Zandir, from a low-ranking noble family of no importance. At a young age his analytical mind was noticed by his parent's liege, who informed the king of his aptitude, and he was promptly sent to Karmiar for training. Placed into Abisala, he struggled with understanding that his seemingly prodigal skill with magic nothing special for those of his house. In his other courses he was at best average, and in the combat-focused courses like archery or horseplay he resigned himself to failure. After leaving the school when he was 19, he sold some cheap spells to pay for passage to Yendell, where he trekked across the treacherous landscape until he reached Leòthe, wanting to study under the masters at the Hall of Studies to increase his already considerable magical knowledge. After twenty years listening to the lectures of the great magical minds of Yendell, and thirty more writing theses on the subject of magic, Adapa became a minor celebrity for his work in helping to design the magical engine - a device that allowed for heat to be transformed into magical energy and used in spells. As he grew older he decided to return to the school where his studies had began, offering his services as a teacher. Fortunately, the teacher of magic training had been preparing to resign, so he took up the position, where he has been ever since, teaching everything from basic to highly advanced magic.

Skills: Rolan is a very skilled hunter and tracker. He can track most any creature and has deadly accuracy with a bow and arrow. With much practice he has been able to make his movements very quite, making it easy for him to sneak up on people. He is also moderately skilled with knives.
Weaknesses: Rolan does not like working with others and has a tendency to make enemies. He struggles with large melee weapons and is not skilled with magic.
Equipment:Hunting cloak, long bow and a quiver of steel arrows, two average sized hunting knives, a snow wolf named "Guardian".
Bio: Rolan Merius is the crown prince of Rordas and was born to King Moras and Queen Ella. From a young age Rolan was raised to be a warrior by his father who wanted a strong heir to succeed him. However Moras was disappointed when Rolan took up the bow and arrow, seeing it as a cowardly weapon. Despite this Rolan at a young age took an interest in hunting and began to hone the skill. At the age of ten Rolan sneaked out of his father's castle to go hunting. While in the woods Rolan was attacked by a wild wolf, giving him a scar on his cheek bone. He was healed by his father's mages but the King ordered them to leave a scar, as a reminder of what happens when you break rules. Rolan has long been at odds with his father.

Personality- Quiet, reserved, thoughtful, friendly
Skills- Talented tracker, backwoodsman, survivalist and especially good at hiding. He has developed an affinity for animals, preferring their company to that of humans.
Weaknesses- Complicated conversations, royal courts, overly civilised things. Hates blade to blade combat, prefers to fight dirty.

Alexander always preferred the forest to just about anything really. He spent most of his childhood with his father in their small woodland hut in the woods around Castle Karmiar his father was a groundskeeper to the school for many years, this was how Alex had learned the ways of the forest and of the backwoodsman. When Alex turned 13 he declined his father's offer to send him to school, mostly because he knew his father couldn't afford it. Instead he chose to venture out into the world as a mercenary. He left with a band of mercenaries which became his second family. They traveled far and wide, from the lavish lands of Anthril to the swampy woodlands of Ezramor where Alex picked up a friend with a tail, his wolf companion who has followed him ever since. Alex and Amadeus (the wolf) had many exciting adventures abroad, spending many years exploring Terminith, arm wrestling with orcs, hunting, occasionally the prey was for food, but mostly for pay. After 12 years of exploring he returned to his home with Jasper. He was very different from when he had left and it showed all over. He was fit and strong, but his father was not. He had fallen ill and shortly passed away. Alex took up the mantle of gamekeeper but also applied at the school to teach survival to the students. Mostly because he felt he needed a purpose in life that was more than checking on animals.

Personality- he has a soldiers mentality that he got from his father always fighting or being agressive but if someone can prove they are stronger he will back down unless it breaks out into a fight. Normally quick to make assumptions espically with elves he's a gentler Orc then many as he will get to know you before he rips our arms off and tries to beat you with them.

Skills: He is a well trained blacksmith from birth and knows how to make good weapons and armour. He is strong and can lift much for his age and continues to improve his strength. Likes to use a sword or spear but also knows how to use a bow.
Weaknesses: although his strength Slag isn't to smart and rushes into situations he knows little about which can cost him sometimes. He will underestimate the strength of ability if he sees you as smaller or if you use magic thinking something you can make with your hands is always better than some spell.
Equipment: Orcish longsword, Hammer, Short bow and barbed arrows, and some steel armour he made himself (not very good but will stop a arrow or two)
Bio: Slag got his name from his father when he "Accidentally" burned down his family's hut at the age of 6. His father was a very skilled orcish blacksmith who specialized in making heavy amour for Orc warlords. He aspires to return home one day and try to take over his village. At the age of 12 slag could already craft his own weapons and armour though not very well they where sufficient for an Orc. He has a natural hatred of elves due to the long feud between the two races. Loves the taste of a nice cooked boar especially one he caught. He was kicked out of his village at the age of 13 and arrived at the castle at 14 determined to go back one day and make it his. Prefers weapons to magic of any sort seeing it as cowardly or weak to hide behind spells.

Weaknesses: His twin sister, hates (and therefore does not wear) armor, does not use a shield either, can be too trusting, has a serious hate for large fires, alcohol
Equipment: An Elven bastard sword with an emerald interred into the hilt, a dagger of elvish make, a satchel, a long green cloak
Bio: Growing up as a Prince of Anthil, life was pretty much made for Artanis. He studied under the best private tutelage money could buy. He learned all the proper manners to be observed at court from his elder sister, Esme, and learned the tactics of war from his older brother, Alistair. When he came to the age of 13, his father sent him immediately to the academy where it was little surprise that he went into House Torven. His brother, Alistair had been in House Davmor untill he graduated as was expected since he was in line to rule the kingdom. Artanis was perfectly content with becoming his brother's Royal Minister of the Kingdom, tasked with acting as the King in order to move the kingdom along through the terrible storms of government. He and his twin sister heavily rely on one another as together they're at their strongest.

Bio: As the younger Princess of Anthil, Elendil was able to leave the tedious work of governing and diplomacy to her older sister, whom also taught her about the piano and music. Her older brother taught her the craft of charming other people, what to say ad not to say in order to win them over. Both she and her brother natural prodigies, were already fulfilling their royal duties by the age of 13, when they were then sent to the academy to become true experts in their respective studies. Elendil was much more subtle in her art than her twin brother. He focused more on charming people where as she preferred the twilight of midnight and the call of the wild. In this way, she hoped to fulfill her mother's dreams of becoming the Ranger-General of the Anthil Rangers, an elite unit of archers and skilled woodsman that guarded the forests, borders, and roads of Anthil.

Short Bio- Heir to the throne of Anthil, Alistiar served as the King's Marshal during the Svendril Uprising which was brought to a swift hand due entirely to his command. Serving as his father's hand since he was 17, the young prince has shown great aptitude for being a skilled politician and an equally skilled martial tactician. Well-loved throughout the kingdom, Alistair enjoys great popularity amongst the nobles and peasants of Anthil. His swordsmanship is also worthy of note, having won several tournaments throughout the kingdom and afar. He has currently taken up the prestigious position of teaching Swordplay to the students of Karmiar Academy.

History of Kingdom-Founded by Illythri Helyanwe millennia ago, they are an old and establish royal family. As they prospered, their fiefdom grew. Soon, it encompassed a large swathe of the very heart of Anthiral. They built their citadel at the heart of their great kingdom, a great city divided into four sections by towering walls and large wrought iron gates. Anthil and the Helyanwe bloodline are among the most ancient in Anthiral, with ties and kins with both the elves and humans. Constant raiding by the orcs in the kingdom's early years seeded a hatred for the green-skinned warmongers, which would carry on through the centuries until eventually the bloodshed had grown so great that the two races eventually negotiated a treaty. Bearing borders with almost all the lands and races of Anthiral, the Kingdom of Anthil grew to be much more tolerable in the last century towards foreigners. The current King, Aaron the Kind, married the royal daughter of an equally ancient and noble Elven house, Princess Esmeralda now Queen, and fostered four half-Human-half-Elven children.

I doubt a student would know black magic (nobody's going to know magic going into the school, and I doubt its taught, if its the evil type of black magic.) but a teacher could make sense. Also, define "black magic".

Well, traditionally black magic is considered evil and is used for evil purposes. I was thinking something less morbid, like using the darker side of usual magic and have crazy antics with voodoo.

I feel like that would be okay, but could you describe the kind of magic you were thinking of just so I can see if we're on the same page? Also if your character is a student then it's okay as long as they haven't mastered it.
