All of the government collapsed in the chaos save Serbia's and Anarchy ensued. Belgrade was successfully fortified by the Serbs and defended against the Zombie onslaught. As the humans in the area began to beat the Zombies back, Arpad took the chance to spread his influence in the area. With the backing of Serbia, the states of Albania, Bosnia, and Croatia were set up. With better cooperation, the humans were able to reduce the number of Zombies in the area . Still, times were shaky as countless Zombies roamed the area. After a few minor outbreaks, Bosnia and Croatia went to war over claiming that they each seeded Zombies into their countries. Bosnia's army was able to force Croatia out of some coastal land before Serbia stepped in a stopped the fighting. In the Treaty of Belgrade, the Balkan Union was formed. The fallowing states ratified the treaty: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Albania. Additionally, the territory to the north was ceded into the Union and was made into the Northern Territory. This addition of land fortified the Union's supply of food. A few years later, in order to stop Zombies from spilling over into Serbia, the Union liberated Romania and Bulgaria of zombies. The Balkan Union helped set up governments in the area. Three states were made and joined the Balkan Union: Balkan Romania, Coastal Romania, and Bulgaria. However, with the threat of zombies nearly gone, ethnic groups look to settle their conflicts forged over thousands of years. The Treaty of Belgrade holds all of the states together, but for how long?

*shakes head* I apologize, Scot and I haven't properly explained deadzones to people who weren't on the old thread.

A deadzone (Currently coastal Brazil, most of India, and China east of Chengdu) is an area that is so heavily infected that it is not viable or really possible that a large part of it could be cleared and colonized. Only very, very small colonies on the coast are allowed. And you would have to post in detail about clearing it, because it will be brutal.
