EDIT: Shall I add you to the Observers, then? They don't require an app, though one is always helpful, like with Mepfan. :)

what exactly is an observer, I am unfamiliar with the term. Is it just someone who sits back and watches?

I'm sure there's a generally accepted definition. In the case of this alliance, I consider an Observer to be anyone wishing to join the fun as either a non-Imperial, or as a casual non-committal semi-member. :)

so... like a far-off power that will occasionally send over a fleet or dabble in politics? If so, I'm game.
This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

That'll work. ;)

You can submit an app as Tau any time. No hurries.

how so? There aren't any other tau players for me to control, and besides, I'll probably be booted anyway. I don't really know anything about W40K.

It should be fine. The Tau are kept sufficiently busy with Tyranids and Orks to be able to commit anything too overwhelming. And the galaxy, even burning as it is, is vast. :)

While I don't control the RP threads initiated by members, I can tell you that you won't be kicked from the IoM for a lack of knowledge. Interest is the only pre-requisite. :)

Using Tau rather than Imperial slaves as factory workers appears to have decreased output by 12%.
