How would it affect me?
If you're the US as it says in op then we could plead or attack the US to give them they're own stretch of land, you pay us to attack an neighboring or domestic enemy, something along those lines. Or other shenanigans to be Thot of later.

I can't give up that part
The Texans get what the maps has given them and in exchange they give up all claims to the rest of Mexico, agree to pay reparations, and agree to never step foot in Mexico again unless expressly allowed to do so by the government?
So it ends up looking like this: http://s3.postimg.org/fuehr8yir/propostion.png

Would this stretch of land be subservient to the United States Federal government? Similar to a state or would it be its own land?

Anyway, does France feel like allying me? Prussia, Spain, Portugal and Sweden work too, but I basically need a European to keep Russia & Britain off my back (and help me modernise), in return for raw resources, trade, etc.

Great.
The wording should be something like:
The Federal Republic of Mexico (or any successor government) will recognize the Republic of Texas with the following borders (borders on map) In exchange the republic of Texas (or its successor government) will rescind any claims they have on Mexican territory, agree to pay reparation to Mexico (sum to be agreed upon) and any citizens of the Texan Republic will not set foot in Mexico without permission by both the Mexican and Texan governments. Any violators will be punished at the discretion of the Mexican legal system or (if entry was denied by the Texan government) then at discretion of the Texan legal system.
Are these terms acceptable? Successor government is to prevent rules lawyering (we are now the Texan Empire and thus are exempted from the above!) from happening. We can agree to a price in a conference. And the last one is in case of outlaws and such
I will clean it up and send it to you tomorrow, I need to get some sleepRomneyerica wrote:
