Indeed, I also put that out there. The first one was saying don't mix point of views as it would make me look like Bob Dole and his speech.

Also this question for Temp or Dutch - is Sentinel Ford safe, or at least safe for a decent amount of time? I imagine that since the Warden went to Redcliffe first it would be there that the main darkspawn horde moves too for the canonical battle there right?

I was thinking I might use an encounter with the hunger demon Kalestos summoned as a means to 'out' Arsam publicly as a spell caster later but I realized he has no staff or access to one and I don't want to mod. I suppose I could have so that he is carrying one hidden among his things but it don't make sense for the character since he's in hiding and tries to avoid using magic.

How many times do I have to say it? Staves aren't necessary for spellcasting. They enhance your ability, concentration, and accuracy, but are not necessary. For example: if an arcane warrior wielding a sword in DA:O casts a spell, he uses his hands instead of switching to a staff.

True, but Arsam's spell power has been barely sufficient without the aid of a staff or lirum infused sword. He was barely able to catch leaves on fire in the woods and tripped over flaming sword spell before that. He's too rusty to be summoning lightning bolts without the aid of a staff is basically what I mean.

Alright... Why not just get a gem implanted into the mystic wooden hilt of your elven-forged greatsword? Like me?

He doesn't know he can do that. Or that he could get a sword made of an alloy of lirium and silverite ala Spellweaver.
I know I'm kinda screwing my character a bit but I need to keep him compelling for me so I can write him well.

We'll be fine. At least until the Warden in the polls finishes his trip 'round Ferelden. I believe our goal so far is to get to the Bannorn, join in the landsmeet (where I hope we get to be in the one in the game), and what I assume to be a battle against the Darkspawn.
But don't take what I said verbatim. I assume Dutchy has some tricks in his pockets for us, and that things will get complicated. And that might not be the plot. It's just my guess.
