Zathrian's immortality and lifespan is due to being attached to the werewolf curse, and he could of easily lied about other Elves as to provide some credibility to his claims.

The fact that the Dalish hold on to more lore is because they devote their existence to finding the lore of their people, whereas the city elves are content to let it be in comparison.

That's an analysis by a person, not a canon source.

Lanaya states that the Dalish have "lengthy lifespans" that "continually get longer". It's also known that the keepers live longer than other Dalish. While a few centuries may be a gross overestimation, Lenavel would still outlive Elissia by quite a bit.

I wonder if that lifespan is "lengthy" when compared to city elves.

So says the girl who was taught by... Zathrian! The same guy who had people believe that he attained the immortality of the ancient Elves.

Also, it has never been proven that Elves were immortal and that's also part of the discussion that fans are having. It was all legend, and may or may not be true.

Also, Serb, what house are we at? I don't remember Vid talking about altars with sacrificed animals, unless I'm going crazy on account of painkillers. If that's the case, forgive me.

There was the uthenera, which was technically not death. Lore states that elves were immortal until 'quickened' by exposure to humans, though the means of this are debated from natural life to blood magic. As it would appear, the overall Dalish lifespan is even in conflict within Bioware. David Gaider and Mary Kirby have given conflicting information about longevity, but in-game sources to hint that the Dalish live longer than city-elves, and that keepers live longer than most Dalish do. Ultimately, it'd more likely be a few decades at best.

Ultimately, this doesn't really concern us. I doubt the rp will last long enough IC for this issue to be brought up.

There was Uthenera... which was still Elven legend and, again, never proven to be true in the universe outside of said legend.

Also, if the developers are torn on this, then no wonder the fan base is too. I leave it to Temp or Dutch to decide on this then.

It suggests we're not at the house where Vid was.

Ah, okay.

...

So, half of the dialogue we had was for nothing and we are likely going to be chasing after either a generic deranged murderer cultist or a generic blood mage who is controlled by you. How far am I from the truth?

Looks like we may have some kind of cultist. Ones who believe Andraste's a dragon. I think there might be some generic blood mage.

No, the Disciples of Andraste don't. However, I found a different cult that might. The Blood Band has devotions of the old gods and might believe in animal sacrifices.

Indeed, it does seem like we might be dealing with something more dangerous. I hope Temp keeps me around and allows this one to go through.

I don't like his metagaming. Go ahead with your side-quest since you're already there.

It's just, Marise can't know everything. You have to see something, hear something, <insert other senses here> something, You can't just "sense" something.

Example: Dutchy says OOC that there's a hidden room in the building, try and find it.

A normal, character-based response would be to go test a bunch of things and spend some time, before finding the secret lever. And that's IF you even had a reason to have a suspicion to think that there's a secret room.

A metagaming response would be to immediately pull a book off a bookshelf, without knowing there was a secret room, and saying "Guys, I found it!" before anyone has an idea what "it" is.

The difference is, you are using OOC information in the IC. Generally frowned upon. Make your character deduce things. Provide reasons for your actions. Other examples of meta are: knowing the value of drakeskin if you've never seen a drake, knowing that the bags in the roughed-up inn belong to the two elves, knowing different types of Drakspawn even though you've never seen them before.

And the music. Uuugh.

Bards didn't sing Drake. Nor that other artist from earlier, nor modern music in general. Look up what songs were sung in Dragon Age (Leliana, bards in cities, hell, just go the the wiki). They tell a story, they normally have a point. They aren't parodies on music that hasn't been invented yet.
They call me Temp. If I take too long to respond, just TG me. Or TG me whenever, I'm online 90% of the time.

What do you mean? Kill off your character and start over, or kill the NPC and sleep? Because I don't want to be the guy who causes someone to kill off their character unless they want to. I'd feel bad.

I was considering killing off my own character, but I have had too much fun to do that. As a result, I'm probably going to write a note to myself to not metagame as the note for keeping tenses proper worked on improving my grammar.
