Economy: The Mexican economy has suffered greatly from the revolutionary war and the Tejas war with Amerika. Due to the Tejas war, a struggling Mexico sold off the useless territories of California and Nuevo Mexico for the sum of {Insert large number} {Insert large currency} to Cascadia. With the northern territories gone, the new government hopes to use the money of the purchase to develop it's core land and pay off debts.
Infrastructure: Nothing special, only in the major cities. Roads in rural areas is literally flattered dirt/sand from horses and carts. Port cities exist, but the ones in the North are still recovering from war with the UPA. Major cities have cobbled stone roads.

History:
In 1812 Mexico gained it's independence after an 11 year war(Jamaica was invaded due it being Spanish idk). Initially a republic, Mexico attempted to grow, encouraging immigration from states like Cascadia and Amerika to settle in the Northern territories which so far had been nothing but an anchor to Mexico. However eventually the UPA attempted to claim those lands as theirs, due to there being more Amerikans than Mexicans. A war was fought and it was lost by Mexico. Following the war, a trade disrupted Mexico had no choice but to sell California to the Cascadians, in order to pay debts and other stuff. Following the purchase, a major revolt against the republic led to it's downfall. Following two years of crisis, Agustin I rose to power as emperor.
