You would get a lot of hate on from a lot of nations, might be ejected from NATO and/or the EU, ect. Small nations don't like their neighbors having Nukes. And big nations don't like competitors.

Why would I have to drop out of NATO and the UN

I get dragged off on a sightseeing trip for two days (bloody train was horrible) and you burn through 5 pages of IC and 50 OOC pages?
