Well, I'm making Reph make a good casus belli to join my defense against Ussies if ever we need to circle the wagons. And of course that will not involve religion, since we all see the Pope as a political headmaster, rather than a "vicar of Christ".

No, I have zero interest in a war over Poland. As I should.

And the Pope is really on the way out by now. The second he became a political leader, he lost his authority over his Catholic monarchs. The Pope has zero reason to go to war to defend Poland. He would never be able to convince the Venetian government to go to war over Poland as it does nothing but lose money for Venetian Italy. You might get his Army of God or whatever but that isn't going to help much.

The only reason the Venetians would have any reason to go to war against Prussia and Russia is to dogpile, which is what you are trying to get me to not do.

And if you read as to how the Commonwealth became a Protectorate, you'd see the Russian essentially caused to become vastly unstable so they could eventually annex it. You literally cannot compare how the Russians made the Commonwealth their protectorate to how the Austrians could make the Commonwealth their protectorate in this RP because it is sooooo different.

1. A Protectorate of Russia due to Catherine saying 'Hey I want Polan' and the Russians just sort of shrugging and forcing them to sign a treaty of 'protection' which basically made Poland part of Russia.
2. But that is all when a war is over, done, and is usually to the nation they fought against. With the exception of the German states, and that was mostly due to the fact that there was - I mean I don't know if you noticed or anything - growing German nationalism in the 20th century.

No, no it does not.

From them they learned the arts of cannons and muskets, as well as rudimentary line tactics. Foundries for canon and muskets were made, and after a dozen years or so, cannons were roughly mastered. Small arms were another issue altogether, and the USBS largely ignored them, preferring the familiarity and reliability of bows and slings and spears. For sure, there were musket units, but they were small and considered "special". Christianity also made inroads into the USBS, roughly 1 million of the nation's inhabitants and the King's own son converting to the faith of Rome or the teachings of Luther.
