Government Type: Representative democracy; highly federalised and liberal, fairly nationalistic, with quite a lot of division of power. Essentially, the male landowning free non-criminal sane (etc.) citizens all vote for their local "district" (will come up with Spanish word soon) and two representatives are elected from there, one for the purpose of becoming a senator, one for the purpose of becoming a cabinet minister. In the senate, they represent their district and elect someone to the presidency as well as to the vice, etc. among themselves and act legislatively. In the executive branch, all are assigned some role, e.g. mining, navy, forestry, etc. and also elect a chancellor out of them, plus a vice, for executive purposes. All hold sessions to decide and do other things in the capital but often travel to their district.

History: After the revolts from Franco-Spain in the early 18th century, several wars wracked the continent. The culturally dissimilar north fought the south, the mountaineers fought the lowlanders of the east, and all hell broke loose. Gradually, several states formed, though. Ambilia, after Francis Ambile, an almost legendary general and politician, controlled much of the south and was by far the most democratic and stable, while further north was Andea, an extremely loose federation of mountain states of all sorts, mostly centralized but somewhat corrupt, and the Brazilian highlands were covered by the Kingdom of Brasil; named after the land they lived on, in turn named after the main economic product, though little market could be found.

After some small amount of time, as borders shifted, instability in Andea allowed Ambilia to slowly expand; decentralizing, but gaining dominion. At the same time, however, both Ambilia and Brasil became ever more unstable, ever more regionalistic, ever more threatened by the outside world. Eventually, as the kingdom began to fall prey to republicanism and liberalism, a mighty joining of all the southern lands of the continent created a new state; Occidentalia. Endowed with some of the most magnificent statesmen to ever walk the earth, it solidified. Federalising to a degree almost unheard of, it managed to keep regionalism from taking hold. Liberalism grew in a wealthy middle class that was dominating the landscape and absorbing more from both higher and lower brackets into it, aided by law systems and economic policies that were planned nearly to the atom, and though a period of intense decentralisation created the freedom and stability needed to bring the country on par with the rest of the world and create it a proper nation, it was towards the end of the 18th century that it truly matured, its government systems finding the weight of tradition behind them, immigrants flocking to a country that had finally eradicated bandits from the simply incomprehensible natural riches, and Occidentalia avoiding the fate of a failed state and turning into a nation-state at last.

My good sir, quite honestly, don't say statements like that without knowing the truth. They are not oppressed. They have as many rights as any Finnish citizen, can vote in politics, and are actually treated better then the Suomi, overall. Still, I have heard of the exploits of your country, and will sell Stockholm and the immediate surrounding area to you on these conditions:
-Denmark shall pay $700,000 Krones for the land, as it has 70,000 citizens
-(1)Denmark shall allow Finnish Navy ships dock in their ports.
-Denmark shall pledge to not invade Finnish territory
-(2)Denmark shall enter an alliance with Finnish territory
-(3)A Finnish military base will be allowed on the frozen island of Svalbard

Lithuania is dying down, actually. The new Prince of Lithuania is a Baltic German who was born and raised in the Reichsprovinz, so the rebels there are losing support.

Boer-like, not necessarily Boer

I know, that's what I'm saying. There is no reason for a Boer-like state to exist. The reason they did exist is because, to put it simply, the Dutch colonists of the Cape were pissed with British rule and left. But the only Dutch analogues are Germans, and they're under Prussian rule and are relatively content.

I think a Zulu Kingdom lead by Europeans or whatever might make sense, but eh.
