Two-Party Federal Republic. In 1953, after the Federal Republic was declared following a semi-British occupied Egypt during WWII, the FDE created two parties; Conservatives who wished to retain most of the policies instilled by the original FRE Party and the First Constitution, and the Liberals, who wished to make Egypt free of Socialism, depend more on Democratic Nationalism, and rely on itself for both products, goods, farming, and other such things. As such, the Liberals became a Favorited party and have ruled the majority of the National Assembly since 1965, the 14 member Parliamentary System, which in turn elects the President every 7 years based on a Electoral College like system based on the voting by those in the Provinces they represent. There are in turn, 7 provinces of the FRE, making the National Assembly have 2 members per Province. The Two-Party Democratic Republic functions well, with both Conservatives and Liberals, although different about what policies to use, mostly work together. In both 1958 and 1973, attempts at making the FRE a single-party Democratic Republic were made. However, both attempts failed with loyal party members of civilian ranking outnumbering those in parliament themselves who wished to make the system. Sine 1953 however, Parliament votes on and enacts all bills. The Prime Minister, in turn, and his job, are to regulate the Military as the 2nd in Command, followed by the Joint Force Chief of Staff or JFCS and then the Secretary of Defense. His other job is to be the speaker of the higher party The Prime Minister in turn is actually one of the representatives of Parliament, and is almost always the same Party as the Majority and that of the President. The President is allowed to appoint whoever he wishes to become Prime Minister and drop them as he pleases throughout his term. As such, the position is like that of the U.S Secretary of State. It is a Federal Republic because almost everything in the country is a Federal Office owned by the government. It is different to communist style ownership of all government offices because it maintains a private sector while Federalizing all sensitive offices and systems of the nation.
Sudan
Single-Party Socialist/Communist Dictatorship. Totalitarian State ruled by a relatively similar USSR Layout only with a simpler layout of government. To start, the leader of the country is the Premier, who automatically assumes the role from his predecessor. The way it is inherited is before the former Premier dies, he writes his will and in it, is the sole person or persons, should the first choice die in combat or of natural causes, to succeed the Premier. This list is long enough and has people in different places so that not all people on the list can die at the same time. In this way, members of the Politburo, the Executive/ Legislative Branch of the government. The Politburo is made up of installed positions that the Premier is allowed to appoint and remove as he pleases. The Politburo includes the General Secretary who is effectively the Prime Minister in the way that he controls the Military as second in command, regulates trade, can raise the number of conscripts recruited daily, and such and such. The only difference between himself and the Premier is that the Premier is higher than him and has a few more powers and luxuries the General Secretary does not. First off, the Premier is allowed to reside in the Socialist Estate of al-Lazzi, the founder of the Sudanese People's Republic in 1952. The Socialist Estate it a private Estate for solely the Premier and those he allows to enter, it is guarded by the Red Sudanese Guard, the Presidential Security Force, and National Guard force of the country. The Premier's official headquarters of business with his nation is where all other Ministers and the Gernal Secretary are permitted to sleep and reside in with private chambers if they do not have residences of their own. This building is called the Greater Citadel which would translate to Kremlin for Russian. The Citadel mirrors certain features of the Kremlin while also implicating several Ancient-era building schemes as well as 1900's Middle Eastern and African style structural methods. As such, the Politburo, aside from the Premier and General Secretary has the Defense Minister, Foreign Minister, Economic Minister, Oil Minister, Propaganda Minister, Intelligence Minister (From the Sole Intelligence Bureau) and the Special Forces Minister. Along with this, the Commander in Chief or CINC of the Sudanese Red Army is also on the Politburo, serving as an adviser to the Defense Minister. There is no Legislative Branch of the Sudanese People's Republic. The Judicial Branch is called the People's National Court or PNC.
Ideology:
Egypt
National Liberalism
Sudan
Stalinism
Foreign Policy:
Egypt
The FRE is a full supporter of the West. It supports the U.S.A since the end of WWII as well as its former Mother Country; Britain. As a result, Egypt's military has been upgraded severely over the years, and it gets signifigant funds from Britain and the United States at some points every decade. Currently, Egypt is just 6 years out of the race for the most advanced technologies to date in military warfare. It is much more militarily advanced than its sister state; Sudan. Egypt is anti-Communist, and maintains strained relations with Moscow. It utilizes limited tech given to it by the USSR in the 1950's as a bribe to join its allied causes. Egypt never did though and remained a Federal Republic. Its sister state, Sudan following the 1952 Egypt-Sudanese Civil War, and the break up of the Egypt-Sudan Anglo-British Commonwealth State following the pulling out of British troops months prior resulted in Sudan becoming Communist under radical African (The main majority ethnicity in Sudan compared to Arabs in Egypt) ruling. Sudan in turn became an ally and Moscow and relations on the border have always been stressed. Especially after the Sudanese extended their holdings of the Red Sea by invading part of the weak state of Ethiopia and Dijibouti as well as Eritrea. As a result, Egypt it pro-West and Anti-East for the most part.
Egypt
Domestic Policy:
Egypt
Everything is Federalized in a way everything can be controlled by the government but power is limited due the breakup of this control by Federal Offices and Bureaus as well as Departments.
Sudan
Following the 1952 Civil War with Egypt, the Sudanese People's Republic requested ties with the Soviet Union. Back then, trying to get every Communist state available to them, the Communist Rulers which included Joseph Stalin fully supported the Stalinist-inspired Government. Over a short period of time, Stalin dispatched 40,000 troops, back then a minuscule amount from all regions of the USSR, and all of these troops were not currently serving yet. The majority were either from Ukraine, Belarus, or the Caucasus States. All were humble supporters of Communism but had been either in relatively large defense militias, or had retained their roles as factory workers, and other such people's. This large group of ethnic Russians therefore made Sudan a tri-ethnic state of both African, Arab and Slavic decent. Over time, these troops sent by Stalin gained more combat experience, and a few younger inexperienced officers were sent to help structuralize the Armed Forces. The USSR supplied hundreds, if not thousands from its industrialist factories of tanks, APC's, Armored Cars, AK's, Pistols, Snipers, Machine Guns, Turrets, and emplacements. Along with this, Sudan was blessed with 3 Light Frigates, a Missile Frigate, and 4 Corvettes. They were granted access to the specs, and then over time, the USSR faded out. It was thought at first they had higher priorities. But the fact was, despite the gigantic cash of gold in Sudan waiting for optimistic eyes, with the death of Stalin soon thereafter, the changing of leadership brought bigger focuses. The new regime started moving towards European conquest and turning of Communist States in Eastern and Southern Europe in comparison to the small, poor regimes in Africa it had tried to support. As a result, Sudan decided by its might, and the fact it now had a relatively large Slavic population of its own, it would prove to the USSR it was worth it, becoming the dominant Communist State in Africa, and the second best state to Egypt. Sudan's only downside was that it had undergraded technology, which was also outdated. In general, the foreign policy of Sudan is the exact opposite as Egypt; It is Pro-East, anti-West only unlike Egypt, it remains in very distinct contact with Moscow.
Domestic Policy: Everything is state-run, and this scale is ever more than that of Egypt. Every business is controlled by the government, and there is no private sector. The public is put into every business, and every public business is owned by the state. As a result, the people are generally happy in Sudan, as most, if not the Slavic population and the higher up rich elite of the military officers class and the Politburo are generally happy to making standard grade wages that are only a bit higher and more decent than those in other African nations. Worker's Unions protect the rights of all businesses owned by the state to make sure people are not layed off without good reason, and that satisfaction in the workplace is a guarantee. These Worker's Unions are cooperatively run by both employees and the state. The military is supreme in Sudan, and military parades help show the public their fierce loyalty to the ideology of communism, which only helps propaganda. It also discourages riots, which are fewer than those in Southern Egypt which are low at that. Propaganda is ultimately very high in Sudan, but people mostly listen to it, even in this day and age of 1983. In general, people of the country are happier to be in a structural safe guarded booming industrial nation of cloudy smoke in the center and South, and trees, rainforests, and desert in the North and East. The nation is appealing to most that live there, and many border hoppers from lesser African states are welcomed and given citizenship provided they swear loyalty to the Premier and Communism.

Averaged around anywhere from 750,000 active troops to 1,000,000 active, with all sustainable to serve able for deployment and are in reserve. Many are either on leave or decommissioned. The total amount of the military counting active and non-active either retired, leaved, or unstationed personnel totals well over 2,000,000.
Military Description:
Egypt
The Egyptian Military is a combined weight of 1950's 60's 70's and partial 80's technology. It is just 6 years behind the International Premium of Grade-A Highest Upgraded weaponry in some areas. It utilizes mostly Western made equipment, while also buying the rights to reproduce most of what it already owns. In order to maintain a foothold in the Red Sea following the breakup of it and its sister state Sudan, it purchased a Carrier, the Dutch Karl Doorman to become its flagship of the Navy. In turn, they were able to operate anywhere in the Red Sea without using their Air Bases. Its Ground Personnel are less upgraded than its Navy and Air Force, which are the pride of its assets. However, in turn, Egypt on the ground prefers Quantity over quality and prefers to mass produce the rights it owns on older but reliable designs of tanks and APC's from the 60's and 70's of both French, American, British, Dutch, German, and Italian design. As well as this, it has some assets and tech from Middle Eastern countries, but being dominated and amerced in the center of the Cold War by having a Communist country to the South of it, it remains with a large contingent of Western-grade older tech for its ground fleet. Almost every ship and Air Fighter, Bomber, and Interceptor in the both the Air Force and Navy was either purchased from Britain or the rights to produce were sold to Egypt and it produced all its ships on its own. Its Navy prefers Quality over quantity and rely on the most upgraded and technologically advanced Naval Warships.
There are 4 main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces; The Egyptian Federal Army or EFA, the Federal Republican Navy, or FRN, the Egyptian Air Corps or EAC and the Egyptian Commando Unit or ECU.
Sudan
The quality of equipment of the entire Military is rather low. Though the best Battalions are given the best equipment, the army is the weakest of the branches. This is a vulnerability as the Egyptians' most powerful branch is the Army. The army itself is now weak, and it boasts superior quantity over quality with an estimated 9,000,000 Quantity of equipment not including all the nuts, bolts, drills, and support gear. It can date anywhere from commandeered British Equipment from 1940 and onward to 1952, where all non-Soviet and Communist gear was scrapped. With old specs, everything produced in Sudan at this point is old. Tanks are dated to the 70's or so and the T-55 is a very common Main Battle Tank alongside the T-72. The BMP is a common vehicle, along with 50's and 60's gun cars, armored cars, and early APC's. The Ground Branch also exclusively operates helicopters themselves besides the Navy.
The Air Force is the best branch. With many of the men who came from Russia being former experienced pilots for their different SSR's Defense Forces, the Sudanese People's Air Force or SPAF became the best Division. The Air Force is so great because it can operate anywhere in the country very easily and quickly. Jets and fighters can be scrambled in a matter of minutes. They also have the most newest equipment, with factories for the Air Force only umping out current-era technology since a Bill passed by the former Premier in 1972. The SPAF also works hand-in-hand with the Navy as they operate their own type of Carriers. The Air Force loves to boast of being the only branch to prefer and actually stand by the phrase Quality over quantity.
The Sudanese Socialist Navy or SSN is the second-best branch and possibly tied with the Air Force. They, like Army have quantity over quality. Part of their success comes from former Soviet Analyst for the KGB and also part-time inventor turned tycoon of production for the State Marzic Svejnec for his two brilliant designs; his first the People's Communist Carrier or PCC and the second the Tactically Sound Patrol Boat, or TS-PT. The PCC is a design originating directly from Svejnec. He started with a simple fleet of 4-5 outdated Freightliners with open decks. These ships are around the length of those of real Aircraft Carriers. He cut off the entire bridge at the rear of the ship so the external sides were taller and rose higher than the interior deck. Next, with Sudan having a large amount of steel, he had engineering teams make a steel frame from the amounts of steel, and making it so it created a box-like skeleton. This steel was supported by concrete, titanium and other high-quality metals. The final step was laying out the deck. Using wood stolen from a pack of commercial liners heading for Abu Dhabai in the late 1970's, Marzic Svejnec took this wood which was originally designed to build 14 basketball courts for young minors, to build his flight deck. He then designed a scheme for a simple elevator using commercial elevators from some of the older factories. He installed a bridge underneath the end of the deck in the front of the ship. In this way, similar to 1940's Japanese Carriers, the ship had no Bridge on the top of the flight deck, making the target to actually disable the ship harder to destroyer. The first ship was completed in 1978, with the second, third and fourth layed out in 1979, and finished in 82'. Two more are expected to be finished by early 1984. The principle design behind the ship was that it might not be able to go toe to toe with any foreign ship that came from the West for any longer than a few seconds (Although it was armed fairly well) it was able to achieve the goal Svejnec had designed it for the Politburo in the first place; to become the dominant hand in the Red Sea. Since they controlled 3/4 of it, it was relatively a good idea to design such a ship. The TS-PT was an even simpler design. It involved taking 40-50 long unused Patrol Boats which were relatively the size of a Corvette, given to them by the Soviet Navy in addition to another 40-50, which were actively used, and turning them into death machines. These TS-PT's suffered upgraded the arms more than anything. They were loaded with Missile Pods, Missile Launchers, all that could be controlled by the bridge and weren't just tacked but put in a decadent and actually stable place. As well as this, 55mm deck guns like those used on Battleships were also used on the front and backs of these Patrol Boats. The TS-PT also achieved Svejnec's goal to impress the Politburo; intimidate Egypt with a gigantic fleet of both former-USSR Ships and supped-up Sudanese designed ships. As well as this, Sudan reproduced a few schematics of former Soviet Corvettes and Frigates from the late 60's which had been acquired just before the USSR cut final relations.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Egypt
The Military's prime focus is on the Ground. Its Ground and Special Forces are the cream of the crop. Although they are not the most upgraded, the Ground Forces are the most trained and well managed branch. As well as this, both the Special Forces and Ground Forces specialize in Desert Warfare, essential in Egypt. Its second best branch is the Navy which prefers quality over quantity and uses its smaller but elite and advanced fleet to dominate its holdings of the Red Sea. The Air Force is the last branch. Although 2/3 of all equipment in the Air Force are either Egyptian produced with foreign specs or Egyptian designed, they are smaller in quantity and rely heavily on the Carrier the Navy uses to fly outside of Egyptian' borders. Mostly every branch is gets a 7/10 in effectiveness though.
Sudan
The Ground Forces has a incredibly large stockpile of weapons, vehicles, armaments, and ammunition to last a decade in a stable war, and factories in Khartoum and in the South Industrial Region to stabilize a 50 year war. The problem is that Conscripts are not trained as well as can be and 60% of men in the field are just men with guns, and have no formal training.
Law Enforcement:
Egypt
The Law Enforcement is very efficient, although besides with crime, rarely needs to stop protests. The most are in the South where sometimes cities feel they should join the Sudanese from the false Propaganda that comes in in accepted transmissions from TV Stations in Sudan. The National Egyptian Police or NEP is the only law enforcement division in the country, as the Federal Republic makes it the only official police department in order to keep policing free of corruption and totally government-controlled.
Sudan
The state run SPO or Sekret politsii i obshchestvennogo is both a Secret and Public organization. They are State-run and act as the National Police Force, as well as the only one operating in all major villages, cities and towns. They are extremely effective as they have both the Public Relations or SSO (svyazi s obshchestvennost'yu) Division and the Undercover Secret Division or TSO (Taynyye Sekret Otdel). The Secret Police eliminate political opponents, rebels and others in secrecy and with sure silence without disturbing the people or their views on the government as they are secret and the Public Relations serve as both a National Police force that helps publicly flush out enemies of the state that are operating in plain site and help act as a local police force in every town, village, and city they're in.
Intelligence agencies(Domestic and Foreign):
Egypt
Domestic Agencies are unheard of, as all Intelligence Agencies involve both Domestic and Foreign Branches. The main Egyptian Intelligence Agency is the General Directorate of Intelligence or GDI. The GDI is the actual only Intelligence Agency, relying on both Domestic and Foreign Branches. It involves itself in operations from counter-surveillance, undercover operations, foreign spying missions, to counter-terrorism information, border war spying, and also maintains its fair hand with cooperating with the Special Forces of Egypt.
Sudan
The Sudanese Communist Intelligence Agency or SKR (Sudanskiy Kommunisticheskaya razvedki) is the primary and only intelligence agency. They act as both the Intelligence Agency and the other Secret Police Force as the SRP (Sudanskiy Kommunisticheskaya razvedki) and the Field Intelligence Agency or PRU (Sudanskiy Kommunisticheskaya razvedki) Which serves as the Intelligence Branch which colects information and puts spies and operatives in the field. It is highly successful taking on the duel task that both the KGB and Intelligence Agencies in Russia have to tackle together.

Description of Your Nation's Economy:
Egypt
The Egyptian Economy relies on mostly regional trading. Egypt maintains a large division of Oil Rigs so it exports Crude Petroleum and imports Refined Petroleum as it lacks signifigant facilities to refine the important liquid. Changes have been made to help Egypt be able to refine a bit more of its own discovered and collected Petroleum use, but the Oil Industry brings in much money for Egypt. As well as this, Chemical Products, Gold, and Textiles play a viable role in everyday economic markets. The Egyptian Stock Exchange, or ESE helps maintain stocks in different National Markets nationwide, and is based in Memphis, Egypt. Egypt has a GDP of 170 Billion Dollars. It is not the richest in the Middle East, nor Africa, but is a large enough country and exports enough products that it is important to nations of the Eastern Mediterranean looking for a good trading partner.
Sudan
Highly resourceful. Sudan may be poor in terms of wages and the overall people have little money, but the government has restricted access to Gold Deposits which are highly valuable. Oil is also a valid factor in Sudan as well, and the Communist system works well in Sudan as the Government collects suitable taxes and by not having to upgrade the Armed Forces on too much a regular basis, they are able to roughly have lots of money to work with. The GDP of the Sudanese People's Republic is 51 Billion Dollars (USD)
Description of Your Nation's Government: Already outlined in Government Form, quite extensively.
History of your Nation:
Egypt
In 1952, the British State of Egypt-Sudan was broken up after the British left. With a radical group of supporters of the USSR somewhat dug into Sudanese regions and attempting to override relative stable Sudanese government and relations. They relatively cut ties with Egypt and engaged in a mini-civil war in the following months. Tensions run high, with border skirmishes until 1958. The Egyptian Government in all forms remains intact as does that of the Sudanese. Only, the Egyptians become far more supported by the West and NATO, as Sudan is mostly forgotten by the USSR by 1962. In turn, Sudan suffered technological advances in the military, relying on foreign entities, national inventors and handywork to make it become a powerful state in both Eastern Africa and the Red Sea. In 1962, Sudan invaded parts of Ethiopia, all of Dijibouti, and Eritrea. In turn, Egypt sanctioned it, and asked it to release those holdings. The Sudanese Communist Regime never responded, and in the current year, has still not dropped the holdings. In turn, Egypt became very much so Federalized, Nationalized, and were fiercely loyal to a Democratic state they saw as the "America" of Africa. Sudan however, relied on the power of the "Worker" and the ultimate promise of making more by making the same to empower all citizens and the military to back the Communist Party set up in Sudan. In turn, their military became a bit more upgraded by the current year, but mostly relies on hand-jerry rigged ships and such, which are explained in the Sudan app.
Sudan
In 1952, Egypt and Sudan had a civil war following British soldiers leaving for good at the conclusion of WWII. In return, radical Sudanese Communist Groups gained hold of the relatively peaceful coexisting government of the Coalition of Egypt-Sudan. THey split the country in two, taking geographical Sudan, and leaving the Egyptians with Egypt, minus Israeli takings. Amar al-Lazzi, the founder of the Sudanese People's Republic was the man who made contact with Joseph Stalin in the USSR, and also controlled the SPR until 1964 when he died. He supervised the Sudanese invasion of Eritrea, Dijibouti, Northern Ethiopia and the slim portion Sudan uses to control its Red Sea holding of Yemen. He was succeeded by Ahmar Idi-Sazzan who came to power in 1964, and died in 1975. Imar al-Hassan ruled from 1975 until his death in 1982, and he fully supported Russian Inventor Marzic Svejnec's plans for both the TS-PT and the PCC Carrier. He had him on the Politburo even though Svezjec at the time was only aged 36 years old, relatively young to serve on the older-ruled Politburo. In 1982, the current leader Jean Paul Abboud rules as Premier. However, he is rumored to suffer from a heart-valve problem, and is expected to die in early 1983. Abboud, a African Sudanese man who fully supports the integration of Russians, who now number almost 60,000 strong in Sudan into society in Sudan, appoints officer Alexander Lanvik as his successor. He would become the first Russian-ethnicity leader to rule the ever changing Sudanese People's Republic. With his ascension to Premier, the whole of the Politburo could turn Russian. If not, then 3/4's of the way. Marzic Svejnec continued his stay on the Politburo after Imar al-Hassan died and currently holds the special rank of Chief Researcher. He is currently the only other Russian officer besides Lanvik as Defense Minister to serve on the Politburo at this current moment.

The land doctrine is a elastic defense, delay, and guerrilla tactics. The naval submarine doctrine is based primarily of denying forces to launch amphibious assaults; hence submarines. Current Air force is modeled on an air superiority doctrine, so the air force is the best kept forces of the al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ .
Strengths and Weaknesses: (What is your military good at, and what is it bad at?) The land and air, they lack the resources to build sufficient tanks and aircraft, however, due to German scientists captured from facilities built in WWII, it has the highest technological capabilities of most African nations, (Israel is exception) however, it lacks the steel and resources to build adequate amor and mechanized infantry
Law Enforcement: It is shared between the :Sûreté Nationale, (National police), and the Gendarmerie Nationale, the rural police. It is very efficient from preventing terrorist attacks and crime, however crime among non-Muslims is still overlooked at times.
