So I am trying to think of beings, and monsters to fill the land of Sheol (concerning the role play I posted up here a bit ago). Currently I have begun to formulate these beings known as The Judges.

They are beings bound by the various elements (not the period kind, the classical kind, and more exist than just four) which form a unique bodily structure for them. The Eldest- [the group containing the first children of the Creator] known as Death crafted them as he began to form his realm since the Heavens had become dominated by the Celestials. These beings were set forth with the task to judge all the dead souls which entered Sheol through a variety of tests to determine their worth. The Judges are not single souls who have been empowered through's Deaths gifts for their tasks.

Instead they are a collective of souls bound together in order to stabilize the power given. This collective is endowed with a unique connection telepathically in order to debate the fates of the souls they are judging. Each soul chosen in this collective has something unique to give as no one personality is the same. All Judges have a dominant soul which enforces the decisions of the collective, and speaks for them. When speaking the dominant soul projects the voices of all other souls as well spreading its mighty message throughout the land often terrifying residents in the distance.

The Judges do not appear simply in their gigantic statue like form. Instead they can shape shift to look more human (or like any other species which resides in the abode). If defeated should the souls be released then the victor must take their place, and fill the void left with souls deemed worthy to possess such power. However incredibly powerful souls able to connect with their inner abilities, and possess magecraft can defeat them, and thus absorb their power. This applies to those who have contracted out with the Elohim (the so-called "gods" who are the great-grandchildren of the Creator), the Celestials (Angels are a small portion of their rank), and the Infernals (Demons are typically the elites within this group).

The Judges are led by the ex-Elohim known as Ra, who was once part of the Egyptian Pantheon. During the exodus event by the Hebrews the powerful Archangel known as Yahweh under the consent of the Archangelic council led an offensive against the Egyptian Elohim. Ra's life on the Earth ended with his decapitation as his power weakened when the angels of death began to kill the priests, burn the temples, and kill the firstborn of all those not protected. Ra instead of returning to the well of Souls to be born a mortal was taken personally by Death for his valor in the Pantheon wars.
