I want to be a more offensive contractor, not a defensive one. (Of course I wouldn't be offensive to the FRoM)

I don't see anything inherently wrong that. I will give the go ahead to proceed with that.

ed-e took forever to kill someone with his laser. He could only dispense small amounts of things at a time and not very good things usually.
When he repaired something for you, it was not 100%. he couldnt carry very much. unlike other enclave eyebots, he didnt have an onboard radio as far as I know. He was soo weak that the reason he wound up in the shop was cause someone hit him a few times with a shotgun.
Maybe a stronger, more durable version with better options comes along and winds up in the shop for some reason.
Or in a different town's shop, like nelson or something. Maybe this version can help you hack vending machines to get free snacks or help you win at those frustrating claw machine games or play games like chess and checkers with you. Prehaps if you give him the right materials, he can make all sorts of new things for you that he cant just make out of thin air like he does in the game. Maybe he can go off into the distance to fetch stuff for you. And maybe slightly less obsenely long wires sticking out of his head. they cant all be antennas. And I cant tell you how many times I would walk into a building with him, only to get a few of those wires in the face cause he spawned right in front of me. so yeah lots of cool neat new stuff would be good.
On top of better versions of all those typical ed-e type things. He can allready help you hack into the divide's vending machines if I recall correctly.
ofcourse seeing its been awhile since ed-e and the courier left, maybe people wont remember ED-E and this new one can be also called ED-E.
Or something similar. ED-E is a really neat name for a robot. Kinda reminds me of wall-e the trash robot.
Dont qoute me on this, but I think ED-E is meant to be new vegas's version of dogmeat from fallout 3.

I'm not sure which ede you are referring to primarily. However, you are correct that the games ede had departed west. The current one in the mojave was built by castor and resides in vault 3.

Well when I first brought this up you mentioned that its possible the in-game ed-e might still be on that counter in nipton.
You didnt seem to have a definitive concept of what might have happened to it.
So that is why I brought up the mention of the ending sequence of the game regarding the ed-e.
And now I am suggesting the possibility of it having been long enough and ed-e having been not really all that influential in anyone's life but the courier's, that people might have forgotten all about the ed-e.
So a new enclave ed-e shows up. A better one. One that wasnt so weak it got broken by a shotgun blast. Maybe it got caught in a sandstorm and ran into a wall. Or it got overrun by a lot of raiders with laser guns. Or maybe it got in a fight with an alpha deathclaw. Or maybe it ran into a radiation pocket thick enough to fry its circuts. Or whatever... and it ended up on the counter of some repair shop in nelson.
