Ah yes, capitalism.

But yeah they won't be crashing any economies. Look how trust busting went in the US, went pretty well quite frankly. That's basically exactly what I plan to do with my robber barons.

Would be unfortunate if Teddy Roosevelt had an accident.

Well, unless your doing mountaintop or contour mining then you should be fine. Room and pillar mining is the norm along with Blast mining and room and pillar is basically cutting out rooms in coal then using a sturdy coal to form the pillar in the room and it can be extracted when you retreat and blasting is basically blowing it up and your cuttign the coal bed with explosives but its probably takes the most skill and precise

This is the location: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerrej%C3%B3n

I can't process it, so I need someone else to do it.

That is true. You can't do anything of that sort Sara. I think you are taking this RP a bit to seriously. Like I can see your stress in your posts.

Would it be alright if people like Rockefeller, Ford, and Edison relocated to different states and were in NeSA? I feel like that is something that really needs to be addressed about North America.

I'd rename some of them and give them say a Swedish name or more Frenchie name or whatever, but it'd basically be the same person and do the same things.

One problem with all of this is that Teddy Roosevelt was 100% Dutch in RL and was from New York which in this RP is Dutch.

TR is Dutch and a politician in the UP? Damn, I love these RP's; seen how a simple territorial claim can completely change history.

Except Chicago is highly native. Why would you have these very English men predominately creating the economy of a very Native nation?

Plus, Rockefeller was from New York but he was heavily involved in Pennsylvania's oil market. So stuff like that really does need to be worked out because it would change a lot about everyone's economy.

Hate to burst your bubble, but location is only part of the equation.

Sure, IOTL Teddy was born in New York. But, and I could be wrong here, I do believe he had British ancestry. ITTL, the British never settled in Nieuw Amsterdam as it remained a Dutch colony. He wouldn't be Dutch, he just wouldn't exist.

I am not saying I have to have all these people, I'm just asking what happened to them and where are they, basically.

Because quite frankly is would completely change the face of the economies of everyone who has holding on the East Coast.

I am not really sure what happened to them. I guess you can create a character equivalent to Rockefeller, not sure though.

Although after looking on Wikipedia one of his ancestors had the name 'Van Schaack Roosevelt' so it is entirely possible he was Dutch in ancestory :P

The chance of him being in Nieuw Amsterdam is still incredibly slim, though, as his ancestors wouldn't have really had the whole 'American Dream' thing to think about.

That's also what I was asking, essentially. If I could basically rename Rockefeller, move his birthplace, and still have the character make something like Standard Oil. Same with Ford, Edison, and basically everything else ever to exist.
