Simple.

If it involves them, simply ask them what they would do.

But I do feel you. Things may happen in-between skips, and retcons will occur. Best way to combat it is to simply hope for the best.

I will probably just wait for someone to respond to what happened at Riverrun.

Hell, if you remember, Tywin managed to hire the Brave Companions, a mercenary company based around Qohor, during the events of Game of Thrones in order to ransack the Riverlands in response of Tyrion's imprisonment. They seemed to arrive only a short time after.

The messages to hire mercenaries are going by sea, as Garlan as agents ready to present mercenary companies with his letter. Also, recall, that Tyrion "drank his way across the Narrow Sea." While it seems unlikely the voyage was a few days, more than a fortnight seems improbable, since--understanding that this point Tyrion was consuming *large* amounts of alcohol--he suffered no severe mental nor physical repurcussions from the journey that lasted. Even with Illyrio in Pentos he seemed to be able to reason and scheme again very quickly.

There's no way Rickon will get the letter on day five though, he will be at Deepwood Motte or the surrounding area if he is lucky enough to get there quickly, which will be hard as he is riding with a large group. Unless a letter was sent to Deepwood Motte, which it wasn't, Rickon will be quite late to show up to King's Landing.

Exactly, which makes the matter irrelevant for the time being.

Zut! I forgot to let you in. So very sorry. But the gates are open now, so you have free access. You can speak to Garlan as desired. Also, coronation will take place a day or two after Garlan weds Myriah Martell. By wedding her and gaining an alliance, we adds legitimacy to his claim.

Thats not what I mean....I mean to say the letter reaching Winterfell, Rickon will not know of it until he returns home or a lone outrider can reach him quickly

Brainstorming ways to kill a dragon, besides another dragon. Meraxes was killed with a scorpion to the chest in Dorne, which also felled Rhaenys, but that's a hard shot. I'd imagine a few scorpions to the wings could bring a dragon down, but that doesn't necessarily kill them . . .

If I recall, that was what Tyrion scornfully thought of the Yunkai'i besiegers as they readied their weapons when Drogon flew away. I believe it was something to the nature of: Bloody fools, did they think those weapons would save them? The dragon's underside was the hardest of all, and the beast would not be felled from there unless a lucky bolt [from a scorpion] happen to grace the eye.

Well, wildfire probably won't work. :p

I would point out to you that people do die in Game of Thrones. Mostly people who you expect to die, and sometimes kinda out of the blue. Garlan may kick it, since if Drogon doesn't get him, and the Volantenes don't get him, everyone else will. He's got the Red Keep, and the Reach, and... not a whole lot else.

Fortunately, there is more to House Tyrell than Garlan, including his sisters, who would probably be wise to head for Highgarden in the near future.

There is a reason Margaery, and not Garlan, knows High and Low Valyrian. True, her High Valyrian is not fluent, but it is suffice for . . . her desires. Let's just say, Garlan is probably going to die before this RP ends. How, I refuse to say, as I myself am not sure. But that doesn't tell me how to kill a dragon. Ideas, people, ideas! :lol2:

So far, I've:

-strike it in the eye with a scorpion, with a .5% chance of success during the entire confrontation.
-hit its wings enough times to force it to the ground, thus rendering unfit for battle, though not inherently killing it. ~3% chance of success
-lure it into a cave or confined area, whereby it can be trapped with its prey. Suicidal, 2% chance.

There's prospects are bleak.

I'd say you're overestimating yer chances there. A dragon the size of Drogon, Rhaegal, or Viserion would burn the archers if they started shooting at the wings. And then the soldiers sent to finish it would get massacred horribly.

The scorpion trick is just not going to happen unless they literally stick their head in front of the scorpion. It's just not.

A cave or confined area? Like the pits in the Pyramid of Meereen? Which even a very young Viserion was able to tunnel deep into, and had much thicker walls than many a cave or castle?
Besides, how would you find somewhere for them to fit?

I'd say scorpion, 0.0001%, disabling it with arrow fire, ~0.8%, luring it into a cave... not going to happen, unless you're Daenerys and they'll follow you into the cave and let you chain them up without objection.

Which is why the dragons should be in the Dragonpit still (hopefully), and you starve them to death. Foolproof.

Well, it'd be great if they were.

But sadly, they're running around off Dragonstone, where Dany left them after the end of the white walker invasion. And now the Bloodfyres have Viserion and someone else has Rhaegal and Drogon.

Also, Lannister post will be up a lot later today. Also, so far there are 3 kings, correct? The Tyrells, Crassiuses, and Bloodfyres?

Oh, you misunderstand. When I say hit their wings several times, I mean with scorpions. I believe Aegon the Dragonbane lost his dragon in such a fashion, and the surface area of the dragon's wings only increases with age. As for luring into the cave, I recall the dragons were obsessed with burnt meat. I assume a man could be paid very much to bait a dragon into a confined area (with incredibly thick walls or something of that nature) only to have the entrance imploded, either causing it to collapse upon the dragon and/or trapping it, at least temporarily.

Should be interesting.

Also, Lannister post will be up a lot later today. Also, so far there are 3 kings, correct? The Tyrells, Crassiuses, and Bloodfyres?

Yes. You will have received two letters from Garlan, one welcoming you to court and one requesting fealty.

Of which he shall reply to neither, call his banners and burn the letters.

Then wait. And wait some more.

If he does that, he's just waiting to come and die. I's all good with that.

Lancel swears fealty to no one, unless one earns said fealty. A.k.a you win the war, he'll go quietly. Start losing, and you'll have the Westerlands pouring into the Reach, burning and pillaging as they move.

This is where those extra 10,000 could have come in handy, but oh well.

Anyway, the Reach will be at Lancel's mercy . . . and thus the Westerlands at Garlan's.
