I prefer not to indulge in video games that make me want to et myself and puke at the same time.

I actually don't prefer to indulge in video games at all. A few strategy games that hone my mind for my future as global dictator are okay, but the ones with all the blood and gore I tend to avoid.

I did Rome: Total War at one point, but I loaned it to someone and they never gave it back.

Rome Total War. Now THAT was a sick game. Really the whole total war series plus Europa Universalis series and Crusader Kings is the shit. The apex of grand strategy gaming. All great games.

I don't own CK2 but I have watched it many times and it looks great. My all-time favorite is the first Medieval Total War though.
