How bad can they be?

They have a Casus Belli on all their neighbors which reads "Burn the heathens!".

Meanwhile, my Castille freezes as I go to seek food before it gets dark, as Greensboro is not a city one wanders in the dark alone.

They are the most powerful nation in the world, perhaps second only to Russia, with whom they are trapped in a cold war.

I'd go to Russia for help, but what the hell do they care about Catholics on the other side of the continent?

My plan is, if things go to shit, to conquer a small Sunni country off the coast of Madagascar and convert.

At least you have a Russia.

That's not a good thing - if Russia decides it doesn't like us, it will smash us.

On the other hand, Spain - which is both curia controller and Defender of the Faith - has allied itself with the most powerful Protestant nation (which is somehow Ireland) in both military and marriage, and is working to do the same with Bohemia.

This isn't just an Ottoman invasion; this is an all-out war between Christianity and Islam.

Look at this. This is not a good alternative to Russia.

Though you did not reply to that, so...

I didn't speak too high of King Waltheof. But that was before.

King Malcolm of Scotland died. As did Earl Duff of Fife. Both after long careers of badassery. So Duncan II rose to the throne in Scone, while Fife fell under the rule of Duff's son, Earl Constantine. I'm not sure how it started, but Constantine declared himself Leader of the Scottish Revolt and went to war against Duncan II. As did a few other Scottish nobles (Duncan isn't very well liked, apparently). I learnt that Duncan II was also excommunicated; and I had an "Excommunicated" Casus Belli, which would give me 200 piety and 400 prestige (or something like that) if I won the war. It would also force Duncan to abdicate the throne and hand it to his young grandson Gilchrist.

So Waltheof raised an army of 12000 men and marched off to fight Duncan and (though it hasn't happened yet) bring the son of Duff to the throne. During this time, the Kingdom of Navarra was conquered and its court became part of Waltheof's. He gained another lover during this time and got a bastard son named "Ximeo".

Waltheof occupied the Scottish capital and executed some of the court members there. Then he occupied and razed Forres and Inverness. He demolished Duncan's army and their Norwegian allies. Finally, Waltheof won. Duncan's grandson became the King of Scotland; essentially, a 2-year-old has to deal with 3 rebel nobles, all of whom want his crown. Constantine remains the most powerful, and I hope he wins because my relations with him are very good.

And to top it all off, Waltheof's experience has made him an absolutely badass general.

I was a tad worried about Scotland, which was quite powerful and even conquered Ulster (I helped, true, but I would have lost prestige if I refused).

Now it seems they'll be recovering for a long time, no matter what side ends up victorious.

Man, looking closely at Eastern Europe just shows how fucked up it is.

Not in CKII, in real life. But thankfully Estonia doesn't own northern Finland in real life.

They're Templar with a self-made man philosophy and zombies to kill.

They're the only men in Westeros who aren't in some way responsible for what's wrong with it.

I betrothed my daughter Melisandre to the heir to the French throne.

Matrilineally.
