It's not just about the cops, but also the intricacies of the mob politics and warfare. There are no real supervillains thus far - just really hammy criminals.

There are three main plotlines;

- The complete collapse of the mob hierarchy, which the corrupt police department tries in vain to stop and the Penguin exploits.

- Jim Gordon's attempts to solve the Wayne murders.

And each episode has its own "mystery of the week" kind of deal; those tend to suck, but at least they try.

My Galactic Civilisations game has the beginnings of a possible cold war established. There's two main power blocs with most of the galaxy split between us. I've established the more powerful alliance, made up of my Iconian Refuge, the Terran Alliance, the Thalan Empire, and most recently the Arcean Empire (a race of 12-foot tall honour-bound warrior insects). The Arceans are the most powerful civilization, with myself as 2nd-strongest and humanity as 3rd-mightiest. The other bloc consists of the Altarian Republic, a race that is actually somehow humanity; the Drath Legion, the space lizard Neanderthals who are sneaky buggers and #4 in the galaxy; and the Torian Confederation, which currently controls the ancestral homeworld of my people. Only 2 unaffiliated nations remain, and one is on the verge of being conquered by me.
