A good example is how they handled Watch_Dogs, DOWNGRADING the perfect graphics of the 2011 beta. For a game set to be released in 2014. And it wasn't even about performance or constraints: modders found COMPLETE, UNUSED texture files in the game's directory, turned off for no reasons at all.
So, I'm really kinda wary of heartfelt defenses of Ubisoft, since they've really got the story of rushing out things to make big bucks.
Ah, yeah: they also treat programmers like shit.
See, and that's the thing - this isn't about Ubisoft. You think Ubisoft gives a fuck if the game has women in it? Ubisoft only cares about whether it sells; it's up to the programmers to actually make that decision. And they decided they would honestly rather finish the game and keep their jobs than put a woman in it, thank you.

No, this is exactly about Ubisoft rushing things, like it always does. I know more about you about their antics. Shit, I play their games.

And yet, evidently, you know nothing about actually making the games, since you concluded that they were "fucking lazy" for wanting to feed their families.

THINK OF THE PROGRAMMERS!
You know, the ones forced to work their shit out due to...uh, Ubisoft being shit?

Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".
Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Yes, I realize; but you didn't say "Ubisoft is staffed entirely by sentient, fanged cockbags who like profit more than quality". You said "So fucking lazy".

That's a different story. If your complaint is that Ubisoft doesn't give time and won't change their scheduling and such, I have no complaints. But you specifically attacked the programmers as being "fucking lazy", which is where Nat and I took severe offence.

Well, now that I've seen the issue in-depth, I guess the laziness can't be blamed on the programmers.

Indeed.

For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.
