My apology for being offline this week. We have a project due and I've been home only long enough to sleep and shower. It's been bedlam.

It was a half day, but I'm staying after for a choir party. I honestly need it, I'm quite frustrated at the moment and need to chill. Long story short, I can nor fucking stand people who are in a situation with a solution, know the solution, could perform the solution easily if they just attempted, but choose not to, and then make a big display of how upset they are about being in said situation. Even more-so when you're suddenly a bad guy for calling them out on their bullshit. (And no, this isn't politics-related) I need Doritos, soda, and cookies now, I'll try to phone some replies if I can.

So two friends of mine and I are all in the same Creative Writing class, and one of said friends has a bad habit about crying over the assignments. It's a habit she carries even outside the class, in that she refuses to put any effort or imagination to solve simple problems or perform simple responsibilities. She just shuts down into refusal. She especially does this in CW, when the topic isn't to her liking--which is anytime she can't write fanfiction.

Now I understand that not everyone is a writing expert, but she won't do incredibly simple things. She keeps saying she can't, but this is stuff anybody can do. She "can't" describe snow. She "can't" describe her own house. She "can't "describe a town she is looking at a picture of. She "can't" even freewrite. You give her suggestions or advice, she shoots every single thing you say down, no matter what it is. Does she bother to take two seconds to sit there and brainstorm like a normal kid on a writing assignment? No, of course not. She doesn't even attempt to actually TRY, she just sits there, says she can't, shoots down advice, and cries to herself. Just says she can't without trying, even though for all intents and purposes someone her age should be able to do these things in a snap, and cries. I don't mean it as an insult, but as a factual observation, that she refuses to just use her brain. She thinks she can't, but the truth is she just won't. It's frustrating as hell.

Today, for example, all we had to do was write a journal entry about literally anything we wanted, that was our graded assignment. She says, "I freewrote yesterday, now I don't have any ideas" and started her red-face, stuttering, face-on-desk crying fit. Again, we could write about ANYTHING. Our day, talking flowers, literally anything, and she still finds that she just can't seem to harness the brainpower to write five sentences (the length of an average journal). So, understanding a writer's block, I start suggesting several very simple ideas at her. Same reaction. She can't do this, she can't do that, no this, no that, no no no no no no no no no no no no, all without a half second of consideration. She'd rather cry than put in the minimal effort it takes to think for two seconds and write SOMETHING, which, frankly, is incredibly distracting to me, as it's hard to do your own work when you're seated next to someone with their head down, tears dripping, gasping, mumbling loudly, and constantly calling over the teacher just so she can contibue to shoot down anything less than, "You don't have to do the assignment", which obvioudly isn't going to happen, especially at the rate she throws this same fit.

So at this point, I'll admit I was a bit of a bad guy. She said she didn't want my help, and I got snappy about her constant doing this, but I was honestly at my wit's end. I don't want to be constantly fucking plagued by someone who is convinced they can't do simple responsibilities and feels sorry for themselves over it. After that though, my other friends snaps at me, saying she said she doesn't want my help so I should drop it. And while this is somewhat true, it's also just being supportive of the other friend's bullshit behavior.

If you want to fuck yourself over like that, fine, no points off my grade. But it's the crying that get's me. Don't cry. Crying is something you do when you're frustrated, you get frustrated because you don't have an easy way to solve something, something that is outside her control. It is easy (I cannot stretch how simple these prompts are; she said she couldn't think of any other way to describe her own home other than "big". She is a SENIOR.), especially when others are helping. Crying is something you get to do when something HAPPENS to you. She did this to herself. She could end it if she took two seconds to stop feeling sorry for herself and use a pinch of imagination. She doesn't deserve to cry. I hate that. I hate that so much. Don't fuck yourself and cry like a victim. Maybe it'd be excusable if it was a bad day, like the other friend tries to imply, but it does not apply when this bullcrap is CONSTANT, for YEARS, and in multiple aspects of her life (yes, she does this for more than just class.)

Why so heated about this? Because my whole life has been filled with people who pull this same no-effort "poor me" crap, and I'veonly now stopped putting up with it. There was one person who would complain about the same things for YEARS and NEVER take my advice. I understand that some people just want someone to listen and not give them advice, but I believe there's a checkpoint in one's life when someone can no longer complain about an issue they have long since had the answer for. If you're determined to never do it, please do us all a favor and stop making a spectacle of yourself. Screw yourself over in silence, because I can't take it anymore.

I had an idea for a group of characters including reginald called The League of Time warped Gentlemen. The league is basically a group of people from various eras grouped together to achieve goals whether it be trying to get back to the past achieve scientific goals that could not be achieved in the past and various other goals that may or may not involve mad science or world domination.

As a friend told me so too will I repeat it: cut the negativity out of your life be it person, place or thing.
It's admirable you've remained a loyal, caring & helpful friend, but like you already stated: there is a point to everything. Now, I'm not sure how long your friendship with this girl has been, but consider just distancing yourself from now on. Need a shoulder to cry on about crap, not yours. Unable to do the most menial tasks, not your problem. Trying to sob more and focus fixated upon her, sorry bucko, not gonna be you. You've got things to do, goals to accomplish and a life to live. Her issues should no longer be your concern or burden. It may sound cold, its even harsh detachment, but so be it as the stress shouldn't be put upon you when its not your problem.

Also more  because everyone comes to that point sometime in their lives and it's never easy to deal with especially when friendships/relationships are on the line.

Why so heated about this? Because my whole life has been filled with people who pull this same no-effort "poor me" crap, and I've only now stopped putting up with it.

I'm honestly not beyond that at this point, I've done it to others before. At this point, it's more about how incredibly distracting it is to my own work with her constant sobbing, since we're seated right next to one another. Ever try immersing yourself to write while someone is freaking out next to you about something you know is completely fucking stupid? It's not an easy task. Also that my other friend is defending it, mainly because I know they don't like conflict, which has merit but is still, to a degree, bullshit. I feel like that one negative side effect of the "be yourself" culture (much as I support it) is now too many people think that anyone who dares tell you to shape up is suddenly being a bully. I might just leave the table, though I'd prefer to not make it that obvious. I'll start wearing my earbuds during work time or something (we're allowed).

But yeah, I did have a nice time at the Choir party, which really took my mind off it all. We ate snacks, played games, it was all good. Couple that with the catharsis of that rant I typed between activities, I'm feeling pretty good now.

I love creative writing, to be honest.

Totally not using the fiction unit as an excuse to expand on Kei's background by using her as my character for the unit, nope, not at all.

The fact you can wear earbuds in CW makes me envious  We were told to sit down, shut up and start writing! No distractions or any of the sort to assist your creativity or relax yourself to jot something down. There was no collaborative effort or sitting in groups (although they did do that in foreign language classes... weird, anyway...), but good, at least you've put your foot down -nodnod-

I've had friends like that. I told them to suck it up and "stop being such a little bitch", as I usually out it. It actually worked out, which surprised me.

I always hated people who couldn't write or read. I remember snapping on a guy because he couldn't pronounce Asian locations.

"Fukushima, not fukashimoo."
"Beijing, no bay-ging"

And my favorite...

"Tibit? Tibit? It's fucking TIBET!"

And don't even get me started on writing when people couldn't use proper puncuation or understand simple words. Then again, I'm a smartass, lol.

She can write, she just won't. I've been to her house three times, and I can describe it better than her.

Real convo:
Teacher: The assignment is to describe the first place you remember as "home."
Friend: I don't have a place!
Me: Your current house.
Teacher: Yes, just do your house.
Friend: I don't know how to describe it!
Me: How? You live there.
Friend: I just can't.
Me: Yes you can.
Friend: I can't!
Me: This is really simple, just describe it.
Friend: It's big, that's literally thing I can use to describe about it. I can't do anything else.
Me: It has a small library, has wood floors, it's right next to a cornfield...
Friend: I can't.
Me: I just told you-
Friend: I. CAN'T.
Me: Why not?
Friend: I just can't.
Me: I just gave you several descriptions. Write down those.
Friend: No.
Me: Why not?
Friend: I just don't know how to do this.

And that's where she started crying. It's pathetic.

Next time tell her to write everything she can't write. Cause y'know, she totally can't.

I love writing..especially for military stuff. Right now I'm writing something for a new tank.
Predictably unpredictable and fabulous at the same time!

Queen Oberon, our red devil! Click the URL to learn about our Leader!
Edelweiss and Reina, the two previous ones are still alive. None of Tsuyoi Tekikoku's leaders are killed in their duels of succession.

I don't use NS stats.

I'd prefer the pronouns she/her,if your referring to me
