I'm confused. There seem to be tickets but posts disagree in how people get said tickets. Is there still a guy giving a spiel? A ticket booth with instructions? And I'm going to ask again - is it ok to NPC someone copying someone from your character's past?

Just fudge the tickets. We usually have ticket-taker banter, but I'm too tired to type it out. There's a ticket booth, and the ticket taker at the gate, and we're leaving the middle part hazy.

There are daemons and then there is magic. Some of the creatures present are just figments of the imagination formed into something that looks, feels and sounds real. The Tulg in Neste's one shot is just a figment. The guy that sold Ceril the coffee is a daemon that looks human.

The daemons would be the things running the carnival, working booths, manning rides etc.

The thing we want to avoid is what happened at the last carnival. A player took control of a "family" (unspecified if it was daemons or figments) and tortured them. No go there.

“No, you wouldn’t dare,” Cherry said with sternly, though flecks of impending doom belied her confident voice and her eyes began to give way to the gravity of the predicament she had gotten herself in.

“Oh, wouldn’t I?” Reyna said with a mischievous, shiteating grin as she stalked her victim with one boot in front of the other.

“I-I-I’m serious, Reyna, don’t you dare do it!” Cherry said with a shrill warning and a wag of her finger. She turned to look at her closest friend, Anais, but the woman was busy taking out pieces of peach pie from her hair and did not see any point in being merciful toward the mesmer. She merely shrugged, only an enigmatic smile that couldn’t be construed for anything other than its face value.

Great, Cherry needed to think fast but her frantic retreat away from Reyna had clouded her mind. “Not funny, Rey, back away!”

A mock pout formed, but it didn’t stop the warrior from closing in. “But where’s the fun in that, Cherry...it’s only pie, after all.”

“Only pie!? Do you know what this jacket is made of?” The mesmer nearly shrieked.

Shrugging, the grin replaced the pout and the woman’s pie-arm rose a few inches prompting the mesmer to back away instinctively. The goddess Lyssa was not handing out any miracles today, for Cherry was backed against an unmanned booth with her attack almost within perfect throwing distance.

“I don’t deserve this, go pick on-on… on Erick! Or, or, or Traxt, yeah! Traxt that guy needs a sense of humor and he has none!”

“Oh I’m sure I’ll appreciate it from this distance,” piped up the elementalist who stood afar with Erick at his side. The two were giggling.

Those girls.

Cherry shot a glare at the men and before she could say anything more lemon meringue slammed into her face, coating her with sweet and sour filling into her mouth and nose. She choked at it, though the sound of her struggled breath was drowned in a torrent of laughter by her guildmates.

Disgusting, she fumed internally, wiping pie off of her. Some had landed on her expensive damask jacket and now it would take a week to clean that off. Maybe! The whole thing may as well be tossed out for all she knew.

“That does it, that does it!” Cherry shrieked, still wiping globs of ruined pie from her face and shucking it onto the ground. She looked for the nearest pie, a blueberry, and grinned.

“I recall you saying you always did love blueberries, Reyna.”

The warrior’s eyebrows perked up in terror, now the shoe was on the other foot and the warrior was making a slow retreat back to Traxt. “Hey now,” Reyna piped up frantically,”… don’t get in a fuss, Cherry. Traxt and Erick bet me 30 Ascalonian pieces to do it. I’ll split the coin with you…!”

“Traitor!” Erick barked with mocked offense

Reyna ignored him, “And this armor, this armor can’t be cleaned off as easily as that jacket! It was all in good fun!”

It was Cherry’s turn to sport a shiteating grin of her own, the lithe mesmer shrugged at the comment, squaring her shoulders and tilted her head, the menacing pie-stained face crinkled with joy of revenge, “Oh, then I’m sure you’ll no doubt appreciate this.”

Without waiting another moment, the mesmer hurled the blueberry pie across, dead aim for the warrior’s face.

Reyna ducked.

The pie flew.

Square in the face of Alexia, their guild leader, whose startled look as the pie sloughed off turned into a fury that had everyone looking for cover.

But the smile.

Oh gods, that smile.

“What do we do? Whatdowedo!?”

“Hide!”

That's the thing, she's usually one of the nicest people around, but apparently "Standing someone up on Valentines Day" makes me a "Coward" and "Not even friends anymore."
