That was the thing he gave him at the banquet. She had sequenced its DNA when she thought Sep had died (the raptor and Brutus healed him, I think) but the tail was now useless, so Sage gave it to him. If I recall rightly, he had extended an invitation to bring it to the witherward in order to grow a new body for him.
