What is fake Jackie? Demon energy? Piss and snowflakes? Gretel with a mask on?

Is fake Jackie Gretel with a mask on? If he is you have to tell me.

It's a smoke construct. :p

Also, I just realised that that ranking list just took me two hours straight.
Be grateful.

I've lost track of the date. Which, quite frankly, is unusual for me. But I can barely remember the last time I've seen a calendar, and we rarely get opportunity to use our phones or computers. It's almost as if the names and numbers we assign to days, months, and even years are meaningless. The ancients went thousands of years measuring time only by the sun, the moon, and the seasons; so is it really so odd that the passage of time has been relegated in my mind to waking, sleeping, and the subtle changes in temperature? It's not so different, really, from humanity's perception of the concept thousands of years ago.

Anyway, I've begun ranking each of us according to our respective abilities: strength, speed, and so on. It's not a perfect system, but I've decided to write it down here for future reference. After all, it's important to record knowledge; there's a good chance of us all dying (permanently, that is), and if there's no trace left of us in any writings, what will become of our memory? We'll be enshrined in rumour and hearsay at best; and at worst, we'll be completely forgotten. So, without further ado, here it is:

Intelligence:
1) Anuragini (6+5=11)
2) Thomas (7)
3) Dana (6)
3) Krouse (6)
4) Jack (5)
4) Jackie (5)
5) Sander (4)
5) Laura (4)
5) Maiso (4)
6) Clarence (3)
6) Conor (3)
6) Raven (3)
7) Miranda (2)
8.) Lavi (1+3=4 temp.)

This is an interesting case. When Anuragini is linked with her demon, she has the most intelligence by far, but when she's unlinked it seems that Thomas is the most intelligent among us (while Anuragini has the same level of intelligence as Krouse and I). Meanwhile, Lavi is normally the least intelligent; however, her demon occasionally boosts her intelligence, at which point Miranda is relegated to least intelligent. This means that while Anuragini and Thomas are more adept at tasks that require thinking, problem solving, and deduction, Miranda and Lavi are the least adept.

Strength:
1) Miranda (5+3=8)
2) Sander (4+3=7)
2) Raven (4+3=7)
2) Maiso (4+3=7)
3) Krouse (3+3=6)
3) Clarence (4+2=6)
4) Dana (2+3=5)
4) Jack (2+3=5)
4) Laura (2+3=5)
4) Lavi (2+3=5)
4) Conor (3+3=5)
4) Thomas (2+3=5)
5) Anuragini (3+0=3)
6) Jackie (0+2=2)

Miranda has the most strength among us, while Jackie has the least. Interestingly, Anuragini receives no boost from her demon in this area. This means that while Miranda is better at using brute strength, Anuragini and Jackie are much less inclined toward that area. Miranda and Raven receive additional boosts in strength when they use their particular powers.

Durability:
1) Lavi (7+3=10)
2) Sander (5+3=8)
2) Clarence (4+4=8)
2) Jackie (6+2=8)
3) Miranda (4+3=7)
3) Anuragini (4+3=7)
3) Conor (4+3=7)
4) Maiso (3+3=6)
4) Thomas (2+3=6)
5) Jack (2+3=5)
5) Raven (2+3=5)
6) Dana (4+0=4)
6) Krouse (1+3=4)
6) Laura (1+3=4)

Lavi has the most durability among us, while Krouse and Laura have the least. However, it seems that my demon does not boost my durability, so when taking into account our demonic powers, I am relegated to the lower tier with Krouse and Laura. This means that while Lavi has the most stamina and can take the most damage, Krouse, Laura, and I possess much less stamina and succumb to injury more easily. Miranda and Raven receive additional boosts in durability when they use their particular powers.

Speed:
1) Conor (6+3=9)
1) Maiso (6+3=9)
1) Raven (6+3=9)
2) Jack (5+3=8)
2) Lavi (5+3=8)
3) Laura (4+3=7)
3) Clarence (4+3=7)
4) Krouse (3+3=6)
5) Sander (2+3=5)
5) Dana (2+3=5)
5) Miranda (2+3=5)
5) Jackie (3+2=5)
5) Thomas (2+3=5)
6) Anuragini (5-1=4)

Conor, Maiso, and Raven are the fastest among us, while Thomas, MIranda, Sander, and I are the slowest. Interestingly, Anuragini gets slower when linked with her demon while the rest of us get faster, relegating her to the slowest of us when taking into account our demonic powers. This means that while Conor, Maiso, and Raven can run and dodge with more speed, Anuragini moves around much more slowly. Raven receives an additional boost in speed when she uses her particular power.

Fighting Skills:
1) Laura (7)
2) Raven (6)
2) Miranda (6)
2) Clarence (6)
2) Maiso (6)
3) Jackie (5)
4) Jack (4)
4) Thomas (4)
5) Anuragini (3)
5) Sander (3)
5) Dana (3)
6) Krouse (2)
7) Lavi (1)
7) Conor (1)

Laura has the best fighting skills, while Lavi and Conor are the least advanced in this area. This means that in unarmed combat, Laura has a clear advantage while Lavi and Conor stand a much smaller chance at winning. Raven receives an additional boost in fighting skills when she uses her particular power.

I've also been making note of everyone's skill with each type of weapon, but determining that will require more observation. I should be able to evaluate it better before my next entry, so I'll save that until then.

The thing about Anuragini and Purnima is that as Purnima's demonic power grows, she unlocks more and more knowledge, but on the opposite more and more demonic power must be rerouted from the hosts body to prevent the over-clocking brainpower from frying the host's brain.

Ah, ok. I figured it had some IC reason, but Dana doesn't know it, so I just wrote it as being some big mystery.

Also, @Lith: You should probably add the rankings to the OP, or link to the post or something. I didn't do all that work for nuthin' ya know. :p

Yeah, I guess. But I really don't mind; I think I actually may continue with "Dana's Journals" in my spare time, just for fun.

I should probably also do things with my characters. I already have a few glimpses planned into Laura's life.

Is fake Jackie Gretel with a mask on? If he is you have to tell me.
It's a smoke construct that looks like Jackie. If something touches him the disruption should make it apparent to all the characters IC. Think of it as an opaque hologram. The smoke is made of air and not the smoke of Jackie's material so it's not Jackie at all and is more like a hologram puppet, so I made the distinction with Real-Jackie and Fake-Jackie.

I keep writing "Fake-Jackie" because saying "the apparition" fifty times sounds weird.

Nature-Spirits wrote:-snip-
Nice job! Also, I find it amusing how Jackie is still the weakest even WITH demonic powers, only tying for last with Thomas when Thomas isn't merged. LEGENDARY WIMPINESS

EDIT: Also, if anyone was wondering who Anansi from Jackie's little line is, he's the west African trickster god with knowledge of all stories, along with some minor duties controlling rainclouds and the power to shapeshift. It fits the rhythm of the lantern oath perfectly and Lucen is the founder of the pagan religions, along with the surprisingly similar abilities. I swear to god I did not base Jackie on this spider-guy or anything.

Does David's law refer to Good King David, subject of three Michelangelo sculptures and slayer of an important soldier in single combat which won the current battle?

No, it's CLEARLY David II of Scotland!

IC Info: TL;DR verson of Nekronia: Authoritarian government with elements of the USSR and national socialism. Everyone works for the government, and buys from the government, obsoleting taxes as the money does not leave the country, save for government buying of items of foreign nations. Military is advanced but unconventional, focusing on infantry and psychological warfare. Primary method of national income is export of armaments and other war-related items.

Not to be confused with Dave and Buster's Law, where you challenge an enemy to eat mediocre food and play arcade games.
