Similar to what Mercer went through. Ryaku fights a Myaku duplicate who has lost itself to it's powers. The other two wind up having to kill the ones their afraid of losing or die themselves.

Loki is afraid of being trapped. Afraid of losing his freedom. Ironically. He has to give up his freedom in order to help stop Entropy.

Well, Loki might have another plan in mind...he has Uatu the Watcher of whom he can entrust the stones to. Uatu is immortal, he cannot die. With omnipotent power, he would be both unable to die and immensely powerful.
