Code: Select all
NS nation: The New  Oklahoma Empire
Nation you wish to take: Oklahoma and Texas
Leader: Emperor Theodore Roosevelt I
Colonies(where applicable):none
Population: 51  million
Brief History up to 1890:

After the CSA achieved power, Oklahoma used its oil wealth to rapidly industrialize. It also remembers how the CSA bullied it in the past, I built up a fully motorized army and zeppelin corps.. It is secretly sending missions to Germany, Japan, Russia, and Britain. It's goal: to sneak attack the CSA and make the CSA its vassal nation.... Think Hitler's 1941 betrayal of Russia if Russia was attacking another land overseas...

Since basically everything is claimed, it might make sense to close the RP.

THat's fair. I'll abide by your decision. Steampunk is fun if done right though.

This RP isn't really steampunk, and it's not a "open map, claim irrelevant land" type of RP either. We're RPing nations that have taken a different historical course. In my case, I'm a Japanese Empire that swallowed about sixty tons of steroids, and I am the Britain of the Orient, while China, which has also taken steroids, is now the France of the Orient.

Germany united in 1815, The Ottoman Empire has revitalized itself and now claims the right to call itself Emperor of Rome (with Germany, Italy and Russia doing so as well), the USA lost the Revolution, but the CSA revolted in 1835 and won the revolution, Emperor Meiji was a 18th century Empress that Japan has a cult of personality around,

Japan and China have joined the Scramble for Africa, with Japan taking OTL Italy's posessions + Mozambique, the Netherlands kept Belgium and took Angola, China took Kenya, the Inca Empire survived into the 19th century.

So the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas devotes half a floor to fossil fuel production.

About the creation of fossil fuels, how they're discovered and harvested(in extreme detail), their usage- mostly oil and natural gas, because Texas, but a brief mention of coal. There's also a tiny bit on alternative energy(nuclear, wind, hydroelectric, tidal, solar, geothermal, and biomass) that is even smaller than the coal. The exhibit also handily dismisses any criticism of oil and natural gas drilling, particularly fracking in the Barnett Shale. Which is explained by the fact that the exhibit was so kindly funded by several oil tycoons and their corporations. Thoroughly unsurprising for a Texan museum.

Even better was the fact that a floor and a half were devoted to all these kickass fossils of trilobites and sauropods and early birds and mosasaurs and raptors and early plants and giant sea turtles and sabertooths and hadrosaurs and a hundred other things and the little kid in me was bouncing with excitement for an hour or two with that.

No, there's a major difference between 'kind of uninteresting and a little preachy' and 'OH MY EFFING GOD WHAT IS THIS GUY DOING TO MY BODY'.

Tawantisuyu is the foremost powerful state in South America. Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil, and Suriname, the only other three states, don't hold a candle to it. :P

Much more territory, more agriculturally and industrially viable land (Brazil is 80% rainforest),
UN Security Council permanent member,
Allies of the CSA, Japan and Britain,
Owns the Apaec Canal (aka Panama Canal),

Need I go on? :P

True but we have a superior military (And the best Navy in South America may I add) AND we are (going to be) very close allies with the CSA in the future. How the fuck did you pull off being allies with the CSA and Britain at the same time? :p
