CSA for Africa 1985 and Live Aid 1985 were organized to express their support for the people of the Empire of Ethiopia, Rumite Sudan, and Kenya during the 1985 famine that killed thousands. While Japan, Rum and other nations had been actively exporting food surplus to these nations since the first crop failures in 1983, an international effort was organized to combat poverty, hunger and disease in Africa, which has the highest rates of all three things in the world. Ethiopia has since recovered from the effects of the famine, as has Rumite Sudan. It is believed that without Japanese food aid, and the efforts of Emperor Qing, the Ethiopian famine may have been much worse.

"We are the World", the song performed by CSA for Africa, was later covered again in 2010 by several Confederate and Canadian musicians to express the need for international support for the earthquake in Isla de Dominica, which was ravaged severely, leading to massive numbers of deaths, and homelessness, which the URCA is still trying to cope with.

Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara; Gujarati: Pharōkh Balsārā‌; 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991) was a British singer-songwriter and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Queen. "Father and Son" is a popular song written and performed by English singer-songwriter Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam) on his 1970 album Tea for the Tillerman.
