I have some old world maps on my PC. Easy to find if you google.

I forget what to type, but one is a large white political map with modern borders, and its all clean and tidy, so it's easy to edit. I think it's related to wiki world maps?

I've decided that the United States Sentinel Defense Complex was constructed in the Atomic Dreams setting.

So, in an interesting turn of events, the people have become safer. Apparently this defense program was opposed upon public discovery- it sounds strange, and I'm not interested in the details of why- as such isn't the aim of the Atomic Dreams timeline.

I first found out about the program from this video. It's one of the first topics covered in the video, so if your not into Fallout 4 you won't have to suffer.

I'm glad I found more material.

Edit: Also, wow- this world is becoming very different from our own which is a good thing for the setting.

I've decided that rather then ignore questions regarding why the world of Atomic Dreams has remained socially akin to the 1950s that I'll have a reference to this in universe via a sociological paper called;

Social Conservation or Stagnation: Analysis of Art, Entertainment, Media, Fashion, and Architecture in conjecture with Global Class and Racial Factors To Derive at a Reputable Consensus Regarding the Status of Our Society

Thus making it known to the players that this phenominon is known and recognized, and being investigated by at least some intellectuals in the world- but has become the source of a debate whose topic is the main title of the paper.

The common folk are generally uninterested in this work, but the more learned enjoy to bring it up from time to time- usually with a round of cigars at a gentlemen's club.

Edit: If anyone has a better name I'd like to hear it as I'm not that verbose.

I mean you bring up an interesting point about why many worlds have a certain aesthetic, and cultural feel that obviously clashes with the current year involved. I had the idea of a monopoly of a self replicating matter (involved in an rp of mine) making life so easy in much of the world that it became stagnant through its own comfort. Why should you change if this substance can keep things the way they are? This makes a bit of sense really especially if the worlds dominant power enforces this sort of cultural vision on the world. Should the current system end however things no matter how delayed will begin progressing throughout the world.

Looking for those super-detailed maps where the borders aren't just the national borders, but of many different regions as well (like, a map of the US wouldn't be blank, it would have state lines; a map of the UK would have borders with Wales and Scotland, etc.).

That's interested :D

Shortly after posting this I found 1950s Anti-Communist Propaganda that worked off the fears of Social Stagnation. Though I REALLLY Doubt the communist of Atomic Dreams are responsible for this XD They don't govern the whole world XD hahahaha

True there. But if I feel too far behind in the RP planning process it is discouraging as well.

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Monster hunters who perform the dirty jobs of the world nobody else wants to do.
Genre/s: High Fantasy
Character or Faction Based: Character
Detailed Description: Enter Trazynna. Essentially, humans are the outsiders on this continent. They came as pilgrims in a age that has long been lost to history. Before humans, this continent was inhabited by all sorts of creatures of the fantastical variety. Most of them lived within the constraints of the natural cycle: grazing, hunting, scavenging, etc. However, when the humans came to Trazynna, they brought with them powerful magic. This magic widened the thin crevices between the ethereal world that magic users draw their power from: The Distortion, and the real world. This event, known as The Conjoining, spilled an incredible amount of magical energy onto the continent of Trazynna, mutating and warping the creatures and summoning forth an array of otherworldly entities, collectively called the Daemonic Horde. After centuries of warfare and depravity, known as The Age of Waste, the human city-states that dotted the continent decided that a specialized warrior caste of men and women had to be created in order to deal with these Daemons and other mutated spawn of The Conjoining. These warriors, known as The Deathwatch, are specially trained and equipped to fight off the horde of enemies that lay waste to humanities strongholds across the continent.

Need Help With: Worldbuilding, fleshing out the story, general advice on execution of the RP

I'm okay-ish with stories and lore but I absolutely suck at worldbuilding. This sounds hella interesting tho (and yes, I know I need to reply to our current RP.)

I sometimes feel that there's something wrong with joining later in an RP but I'm sure it is not a problem. I think a good RP is one that can seamlessly introduce new characters. New characters are what keep RPs alive when the original Taggers get bored and disappear.

I've made the decision to kill off Iram of the Pillars (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=420217).

I received four successful applications excluding my own but when the IC was released it devolved into the same two people (me and someone else) posting regularly with the other three characters only having one brief post each. I honestly don't know for sure what went wrong with keeping the RP alive. Maybe the map was too big for the characters and it was just isolated stories around the city that made it boring. Maybe I didn't wait long enough for more applicants. Maybe I should have looked for applicants who had better past posts on other RPs and more experience.

I'm going to release Iram of the Pillars again in some months to try and improve the story, the mechanics, and ideally I'm going to look for more exposure beforehand before I release it.
