Anthimal
The continent of Anthimal is a vast and ancient place. Anthimal is home to many extraordinary creatures and species. There are many species of the world from hardy and rough humans, the wise and resourceful elves, and the proud and fierce orcs. Those are the creatures that live freely and openly in cities and towns however other creatures such as werewolves, dragons and minotaurs lurk in the dark forests of the world. These creatures that once roamed free and terrorized mortal kind are now hunted and contained to the more wild parts of the continent. The people of Anthimal worship a number of gods and goddesses. Each deity had a part in the creation of the world and has control over a different aspect of life and nature. There is Sarial the Goddess of the Light, Talthen, the God of War, Mariman, the God of Justice and many others.
The land of Anthimal was a wild and dangerous land for many centuries. During this time mortal kind was scattered and undeveloped. There were no cities or kingdoms and the mortals huddled in small groups for survival. Despite their attempts mortals were merely the prey of monsters who lived the dark forests of the continent. Legend says it was at this time that the mortals of the world began to pray to the gods for protection and too end their suffering. It was then that the gods took pity on their mortal creations and sent them a champion in the form of a farm boy named Marik. Marik was born with magical abilities unlike any mortal before him. With Marik the gods bestowed upon mortal kind the gift of magic to fight the monsters that plagued them. As Marik grew so did his powers. by the age of 22 Marik had begun uniting mortal kind against their enemies and a great war began for control of Anthimal. Marik and the forces of mortal kind proved victorious and drove the wild creatures out of their land into the depths of the wilderness. After the great victory Marik saw the need for the mortal races to be united, as to face anymore threats that might come their way. This proved difficult as Humans, Elves and Orcs, had had long standing hatreds for each other, but after a long and difficult journey Marik managed to unite the mortals of Anthimal under one banner. This began the age of the Anthimal Empire, and our story today.
Unfortunately it seems the Empire's greatest days are behind it. The leaders of this once great land have grown corrupt and inept at ruling. Unrest grows among the provinces especially Rordas, who's citizens believe that the empire has strayed from it's roots. The current Emperor Marcus has sent troops to occupy Rordas because of this, further spreading the resentment among the Rordas. To make matters worse rumors are spreading that the evil creatures of old are once again beginning to stir. The smallfolk have begun clamoring for heroes to rise to save the Empire, but who will they be?

Marcus
It was a sunny and bright morning in the prosperous capital city of the Anthimal Empire. The capital city was the heart of continent, where few citizens were impoverished or in need. Emperor Marcus Huthesen, the ruler of Anthimal, was out riding his favorite horse on the Castle grounds that morning, as he liked to do to relax. Marcus had been crowned Emperor two years ago after the passing of his father Emperor Nathen. Not only did Marcus have to grieve his father, he had to take on his responsibilities as emperor. After two years it had not gotten any easier for Marcus, the duties of his job constantly weighing on him. Despite this he never lost his kind, fun and compassionate nature. This was most likely due to his sister Wanda and his mother Marie. They were both a great comfort to him and he was very glad to have them by his side. Of course there was also Elenya, who he was also very grateful to have by his side. Elenya was his best friend from childhood, they had met on the streets of the capital one day. She had come to be considered by a most as a member of the royal family since she lived in the place and sat with them at dinner. Despite her being half elf Marcus grew to care for Elenya like his own family. He always defended her from those who would bully and discriminate against her. Marcus knew he would need his family in the trying times ahead. There had been signs of unrest in some of the provinces especially Roras, not to mention the rumors of a trader being dragged into the dark forests by werewolves. Marcus knew these rumors were probably false but he couldn't shake his bad feeling. His country needed a leader, was he up for the task?

Wanda
Princess Wanda had woken up early that morning in the palace of Anthil, where her brother Marcus ruled as emperor. Her life was a pretty happy one, she had her mother and brother whom she loved dearly, although she missed her deceased father very much and sometimes she worried about Marcus. He was a fairly good emperor, and very kind and compassionate. But he was also easily swayed by the advisors, the sixteen year old princess felt that some of the advisors were only using her brother to further their own ends as proposed by the harsh tactics they were proposing to get rid of this "treason" as they liked to call it. And some of the lesser monarchs too, they were cruel, evil and brutal and Wanda detested the monarch of Roras especially since he had his own people attacked. And guess who got the blame, her family and her brother. She only wished she could protect them better. Wanda changed into a pink gown with a wine red bodice, brushing out her wavy blonde hair and pulling it back into a braid before heading downstairs and grabbing breakfast in a basket and greeting her mother and Elenya with hugs before going down to the caves. The caves is where her dragon stayed, a beautiful white thing with golden eyes named Sorcha. Wanda had found her when she was an egg, and it's difficult to tame dragons but they had been inseparable. Wanda hopped on Sorcha's back after feeding her some meat and flew off into the sky, over the grounds where she saw Marcus riding.

Elenya Marilee
The yawn of a young woman was the only sound in the rather large bed chamber that morning. It was littered with musical instruments, compositions, maps and miscellaneous items she had acquired form her many sea travels. Elenya woke up and rubbed her sleepy brown eyes, her messy ebony curls falling over her face. She got up and went to the mirror to look at herself to get ready for the day. She was quite attractive, many would say beautiful. But many would give her odd looks, maybe it was the slightly pointed ears or the tall frame that gave her away. Yes, Elenya was half-elven. Her human father and her elf sorceress mother had dared to consummate their love despite the dangers, and she was born. She wasn't complaining about her life, she had living and loving parents, a career she loved as a musician and adventurer, and she had a second family as well. The imperial family had been her family ever since she had met Prince Marcus when they were children. The two quickly became best friends, and she got along excellently with his mother Marie and sister Wanda as well. She grieved then the old emperor died, he was like her second father and Wands was like a little sister to her and smiled when she hugged her before leaving. Marcus, she loved him very much. As a best friend of course, but steadily the feelings grew inside of her into real love. But she would never express it, it would ruin their friendship and as a half elf she would never be accepted as his wife. Elenya bound her long hair with copper wired, dressed in a brown gown with red corset, pulled on her boots and went outside to the castle grounds, to greet Marcus and on her way to visit her mother.

Kaarus

It was early in the morning when a older man awoke from his slumber dressed in typical sleeping wear Kaarus had woken bright eyes and with life something many men his age. A healthy life with lots of activity helped him obtain such an abilit at his age. The harsh north took its victims early so by all means Kaarus was a lucky man to have lived as long as he did but with a few exceptions. His left arm was far more frail and slim in contrast to his muscular and brought right arm, this was the effect of a battle wound he had several years earlier in which he had lost his arm in a battle against a Volls Mur'raok a water demon which had possessed a young Elven worrier and while Kaarus had been victorious in their encounter he had lost his left arm after the Demon ripped it right off his body. Thankfully for him the Order of Matiman had taught him a plethora of healing spells which and general Healing magic and with this knowledge he took the elves arm and magically reattached it to his body.

The day was early and as Grand Master of the Order he was responsible to help train and discipline the new recruits of the order. The day started off as any other, the children woke up just before the rising of the sun and would eat breakfast. Then they would meet in the Arcane Hall just under the Church where they practiced their magic in a controlled environment. The order did not teach offensive nor defensive magic but rather healing magic as it was the easiest for humans to learn and as such the order felt it was the most needed of all magical arts to learn although they did not frown on the other types of arcane abilities and if students had the aptitude they were free to learn other abilities as well. Then after that they met in the court yard to practice sword play and train which was a test of endurance and ability with the first half being filled with exercises meant to challenge their young bodies and the second half being geared to their ability with a sword, spear, bow which ever one the child showed aptitude in.

Although before the daily meditation and theological study could begs in a member of the order came to the church. While the church was affiliated with the Order of Mariman the seat of the order was located all the way in the capital and most messages came through the Rordas royal family. He stood their obviously tired from his journey.

"What is it?" He asked in my generally smooth and calm voice something He was not north with but had come naturally with age.

"Sir Kaarus Sraadasin Grand Master of Rordas I have a message from the Grand Knight of the Order Octus Einarr." He told me still attempting to catch his breath. This seemed strange, Kaarus had only reserved a few direct messages from the Grand Knight himself and with his experience knew the importance of this message.

"Well what is it boy" Kaarus asked him.

"The Grand Knight wishes you to find a special young boy in these parts. We know that he is of Rordas Royal blood but that is it. You are instructed to train him personally and to do so your rank has been increases to Secadsion of the Order. The Grand Knight gives you these order as he has heard the called of Mariman himself and knows you to be a loyal subject of the order. Do you accept these challenges thrust upon you?" He said as Kaarus looked back with a seeming lack of emotion. It had been years since royalty was but into the order and even then he was a lesser Nobel with no hope of power but this could be something new, but Kaarus didn't think much of the boys birth and more about why Mariman would tell a mortal about this boy and why he would be so important for the god of Justice to bat an eyelash over it. Lazarus smiled and looked upon the messenger.

"I shall accept all that has been given to me and will fullfil the duties to the best of my ability" he said as he walked away from the messenger. As he did do the Messenger gave Marcus Roananthoust the title of the new Grand Master.

Kaarus went to his room and changed out his fatigues for the chai mail armor and white tunic of the Order of Mariman. On the front of the tunic lied a four sword touching each other at the bottom of the hassles in a star like formation. This was the symbol of the Order panted on his tunic. After grabbing his sword he left the church and met his horse Volundr whom he had since his childhood while the horse was aged it could still ride and Kaarus hoped onto the saddle and rode Volundr across the cobblestone roads to the castle of Rordas in which he would look for the requested child.

Prince Derek stood outside his tent as the sun began to rise, shining over his deeply tanned skin. Within the fiery rays of the sun, his hair looked alight in bright scarlet. His tall, lean, athletic frame let out a long shadowy silhouette. His forest green eyes surveyed the area, especially towards the capital city.

He called over to one of his men that was milling around, a man by the name of Krom Wilshire. "Krom, I require your assistance. I need you to take one of the griffons and go to the Capital city and to the palace, and tell the Emporer that our group will be meeting ith him about mid-late morning...possibly early noon if we are hindered in some way." Krom nodded, quikly heading to the makeshift griffon stables. Soon, he could hear the familiar sound of the griffon in the air. Derek smiled, always enjoying the flight, being one of the few provinces to actully be well adept with griffon riding.

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and turned, smiling, at his great friend Aros Oakwood. Aros sstood tall and lean, blonde hair ruffling in the wind, spectacles catching the sunlight. Aros spoke, "You should be excited, you know. This is your first major diplomatic meeting. The first time you are officially meeting the Monarch on your own terms instead of your fathers." Aros smiled as he spoke, already knowing that this soft spoken lad was both excited and apprehensive.

"Yes, I know," said Derek smoothly, gripping the hand that was on his shoulder with his own. "Hopefully all goes way. I've heard he is a fair, kind hearted, young one, so it shouldn't be too hard to end up on amiable terms on what to do," he finished off, smiling at Aros.

With that, they both turned and began heading back to the tent, with the orders to the men milling around that they shall be departing by griffon shortly.

A guard on the castle grounds saw the griffon fly near and took the message that Prince Derek would be arriving soon.
Marcus
As Marcus rode through the compound the sun above him was suddenly covered for a mom met and Marcus smiled at the cause. His sister Wanda was flying her dragon Sorcha as she often did. Those two are quite a pair. He said to himself as he rode on. Marcus was originally hesitant about the idea of bringing a dragon to the castle but Wanda wouldn't take no for an answer. It turned out she was actually able to tame the creature, and turn it into a dear friend. As Marcus rode closer to the castle he saw Elenya walking towards him. Marcus smiled at the sight of his best friend and dismounted his white stallion named Winter to greet her. Once he was on the ground again he walked over to his friend and hugged her. "Morning Enna, I'm impressed. You're usually never up this early." He joked to his friend playfully. It was true though Elenya often slept later than Marcus. When they were children he used to wait outside her door a little while until she would wake up and they could play together. "I am glad to see you though. You, mother, and Wanda make my job a little easier. So are you off to see your mother? I could join you if you'd like. Miraculously I actually have the morning off."
Alder
To Alder, boredom was the greatest threat to a prince's life. His father Damal never let him venture out into the countryside or even the capital. "There's rebels out there who would low to have you dead." He'd say. Alder scoffed at that. These rebels were farmers who would sometimes protest against the king and his action. They never did any harm and did not deserve the way Alder's father treated them. Alder had many bouts with his father about that and was vocal in his disapproval. Even Alder's brother the Crown Prince seemed too busy for him these days. Alder wanted to explore the world and try to do some good for the people, like Marik Huthesen his hero. Alder often went out to the castle's hunting grounds to practice his magic and read the many old stories and legends he was interested in. He knew that one day he wouldn't be contained like this, he'd make sure of it.

Lord Athrignan Deathspeaker, the Dark Apothecary
Chillbarrow Castle, Anthil

The halls and rooms of Chillbarrow Castle were cold and damp as always, the castle rising above the rest of the ruined city, built around it. The only way to get to the castle was by boat, as it lay at the center of a lake, with no bridges or tunnels leading to it. The silhouette of a single, tall, hunched-over figure stood on a small boat, peddling towards the castle as the sun began to rise behind the clouds, signalling the start of a new day. It was misty and drizzling, and it was cold, despite the time of the year. Chillbarrow stood in the north of the province of Anthil, but nevertheless, it had never been really cold until over four-hundred years ago, when things.. changed. The lake's water was foul with the reek of death and the ashes of the fallen, and it was a thicker substance than normal water. Nevertheless, the boat continued its way, and landed at a pier. The rider lay the peddle low, and stepped onto the shore. The figure reached down, and threw a large package over its right shoulder, before walking towards the Castle's gate.

Athrignan Deathspeaker, the Putrid, Dark Apothecary and Lord of Chillbarrow Castle, stood in his lab, behind a large table. On the table lay several of his tools, mostly knives and needles, along with several body parts, taken from varying sources. The Dark Apothecary worked tirelessly on this little experiment: he was trying to create a new creature, made out of many body parts stitched together, brought to life with alchemy and magic. So far, his experiments had proven fruitless, and he was cleaning his tools, ready to work on another project for a while before continuing. The door to his laboratory was swung open, and a tall, hunched-over figure entered, with a large package swung over its shoulders. The package was thrown on the floor, and the figure knelt. Athrignan turned around to face this new arrival, one of his faithful followers.

"Rise, Magul, rise. I see you have returned. What do you bring with you from your hunt?"

The figure stood up, and pushed his hood off his face, revealing the grayed, undead features he had. He took the cloth covering his package, revealing what he had taken with him: the body of a young-ish woman. She was tall, had long, curly blond hair, a sharp nose, and had been wearing leather armor. Had been wearing. Her body had been mauled by Magul's mace and clawed fists, and she had died on the way back to Chillbarrow, three hours ago. The undead had since then covered her body as to preserve it for his master.

"Found her travelling through your lands, my lord. She was digging through some stuff in a village. Nothing special, but still.."

"..yes, that was rather disrespectful, wasn't it? Well done, Magul, I am pleased. Who knows what she might have found. Besides, it was unwise of her to enter my lands. Did she not hear the stories? Foolish. Anyways, seeing the state her body is in, you questioned her. What news did you get out of her before she died of organ failure?"

"Dark news, my lord, dark news. The darker creatures of the world appear to be on there return, and there is trouble stirring within the Empire. The province of Roras is getting rebellious, and the Emperor has sent an army to keep it under his control."

"Strange, that doesn't sound like Emperor Nathen Huthesen at all."

"Emperor Marcus, my lord."

"Ah yes, that's true. Nathen died... four years ago, was it? Or two? I'm not so sure.. Hmm.. Well, anyways, that would explain the sightings of soldiers travelling northwards. Soldiers that were wise enough to avoid our lands, of course. Still, we can't have Roras rebel against the Empire now, can we? Magul, be a good man, and bring me the satchel. I think it's time I get a bit crafty with diseases."

Magul nodded, and walked towards a counter, picking up a small alchemist's satchel from it. In it were bottles containing deadly poisons and diseases, kept in the Dark Apothecary's laboratory for him alone. There were cures, granted, but those could only be found right in Chillbarrow Castle, in the lab. Magul walked over to his master, and handed the Putrid Lord of Chillbarrow his satchel. Deathspeaker lay it down on a table to his right, before dismissing Magul.

"You may leave, Magul. Prepare my horse and some of the men. We're going on a fun little journey to the capital."

Magul saluted, knelt, and turned around, walking through the halls of the castle back to the stables, to prepare for the master's journey. Outside, the skies wept, and rain poured on the ruins of Chillbarrow.

Elenya smiled when Marcus hugged her and hugged her friend back. Protocol was nonexistent between them, even if he was the emperor. "It's good to see you Marcus, how have you been?" she asked, then laughed at his joke. "I know it's been a bit hard for you as emperor, so the sun has decided to shine a little bit earlier to brighten your day." she joked back. "Yes, I am going to go see Mother." "I'd appreciate your company actually, if you have no more issues for the morning." "And when we get back, maybe I can help you with your work even." "I know you have quite a bit since the whole rebellion thing started swirling around. Meanwhile, Wanda had landed on the other side of the field where Marcus and Elenya were, Sorcha landed pretty gracefully for a dragon. "Enjoying life without me again?" Wanda mock pouted as she walked over to her brother and friend, nibbling on a bit of blueberry bread she had packed with her.

Kaarus

The path to the castle was foggy and the day seemed colder then most but Kaarus payed no mind to it as he had made this journey many times before. The Castle was large and the king was someone he had a disliking of, but the church forbade him from taking sides in political matters leaving him unable to have an official position on the politics of Rordas. When the castle came into view all Kaarus could feel was an uneasiness in the air. This came from beings who had strong spirits and was something the Order used to track down demons and something that Kaarus had become attuned to after years in the Order. Once Kaarus reached the entrance of the castle he looked at the guards who let him in upon understanding that he was a member of the Order. Leaving his horse outside Kaarus walked through the halls of the Castle as he had done many times before bit this time the reasoning was different then the usual manner of killing demons and exercising demons from people. I found a servant and I walked up to her. She was a fair lady slim and tall with dull red hair and a slim pale face.

"Excuse me Madam but I am looking for King Damal? I have news of the upmost importance meant only for his ears." Kaarus asked her as she looked at me with curious intent. Her green eyes stared deeply into him almost going past him it seemed.

"Let me get the king for you" she said as Kaarus bowed in appreciation of what she was doing. As she left Kaarus stood sternly waiting for the king.

Marcus smiled at Elenya. He was glad to have a friend who treated him like a regular person, not the emperor. "I'm doing well thank you. This beautiful morning is quite relaxing. He laughed at her joke. "Well I'm quite glad it did. Being emperor can get lonely sometimes. It's good to have a friend that can make me smile." He nodded when she said he could accompany her and smiled when she offered to help him with his work. "That's very sweet of you Elenya. I have a some paper work and meetings to deal with. They would be much more enjoyable with you next to me." He said smiling to her. He watched as Wanda and her dragon flew near them.he grinned at her comment. "Sorry sis, I guess we forgot our favorite dragon rider." He joked. "You're welcome to join us though." He told her as they started walking from the castle to visit Elenya's mother.
Damal
Damal satin his study that morning, reading over reports from his soldiers in the countryside. Things were quite for the most part, a few farmers retaliating against one of the imperial soldiers, beating him to death. The farmers were dealt with of course, harshly as to deter others from following suit. There were rumors that a group of criminals were organizing in the forests, but Damal dismissed this. These savage peasants would be able to do nothing against the night of the imperial army. They would be crushed like the dogs they were. As he was reading his reports a servant came in and informed him that am ember of the Order of Mariman was there to see him. Damal put his report down and spoke up. "Send him in." He told the woman. The servant bowed and walked out the room to fetch the man.

Aos Oakshield
The palace

Aos strode through the halls of the palace heading towards the Emperor. Aos had grave news that had to be heard right away and it could mean disaster for the empire if it doesn't reach the Emperor right away. The palace was lavishly decorated and adorned with many artifacts from the past and old books in which Aos read sometimes. Aos turned around the corner and bumped into Sarah who fell to the ground and clothes were all over the floor, Aos quickly helped her and said, "We still good for tonight?" She nodded and Aos quickly ran towards the door to the exit of the palace just in time to catch up to markus. "Emperor Markus, we have grave news. There is a rather large group of Rordas citizens mostly farmers stirring up trouble in the village of Hamtel. Several soldiers were over run and killed, what should we do about the problem?" Asked Aos as he bowed.

The encampment was finally put away as Prince Derek landed on the ground. He was riding Phaeyl, a Griffon he had seen raised and grown. Griffons were very intellectual creatures, and bonded with their Master with an unbreakable bond of loyalty. He enjoyed flying very much, and indeed was seen constantly doing it over his own land, as much of a desert as it was. As he settled down, he spoke towards Krom Wilshire. "Krom, I am in need of your assistance once again. Please send the message that we will be arriving 20 minutes behind you, as it is getting to be late morning." Krom nodded, hitching his Griffon and taking flight.

Derek took one last quick look around the encampment, before spotting Aros "Are you ready, Aros?" Derek asked, with apprehension in his voice. Aros took note of this. "Calm yourself child. Don't see yourself speaking to an Emperor...but to another being." Aros smiled as Derek nodded.

Prince Derek quickly made his way back to his Griffon. Aros appeared beside hi upon his own Griffon. He gripped onto Phaeyl. "Okay girl, let's fly!" He said, grinning, s he felt her take off towards the capital...

As Marcus, Elenya, and Wanda walked off from the castle the Emperor's mood was dampened slightly when his captain of the his guard Sir Aos approached them. Marcus knew this most likely meant he had bad news. Marcus frowned as he listened to Aos explain his situation. It was not good news to hear about citizens acting out in Roras. "Well, that is grim news indeed. Well, we can't tolerate our soldiers being attacked like that. But it's best we deal with it before King Damal uses his own tactics. Tell General Casario to dispatch a company of men from the imperial garrison. They are to do their best to disband the rioters as peacefully as possible. We don't new any more dead citizens. If any resist though and threaten the troops, they have the authority to use force to protect themselves. Go now, this can't wait." He told his captain of the guard before turning to his sister and friend. "We should keep going. It seems I won't be free all day."

Wanda, Elenya, Marcus and Sorcha were walking off the castle grounds, Wanda and Elenya sharing some of the packed breakfast. She was about to offer some to Marcus when his guard Aos came sprinting up to them. Wanda frowned a little bit, as if her brother didn't have enough problems to deal with. Elenya also listened to the conversation and wasn't surprised, Roras was beginning to sound like a lost case. And the king of that province wasn't helping, if anything he only made things worse. She smiled at Marcus' solution, it sounded practical enough and hopefully nobody would have to die. When the guard left they continued walking. "Hey, what's that?" Elenya said as they went onto the streets of the capital. It was a huge shape flying through the sky, but it wasn't a dragon. Sorcha and Wanda decided to fly up to check it out, and when they got high enough they could see it was a griffon.

Aos was shocked, but he didn't want to disturb the Emperor until he returned. A royal guard walked up to him and whispered, "Does he know General Casario is missing in action from a recent ambush of his samm scouting party?" Aos was pissed he sent a guard to inform the emperor about this yesterday.

"Damn it, looks like I am taking a road trip. Inform the barracks I want a company of men ready when I get there. Also Sergeant Newton, you are taking charge of my duties until I return from this mission. If Markus asks tell him about the general and where I am," ordered Aos as he walked towards the barracks in which the 7th company was being prepared as Aos grabbed his gear and went to the barracks yard.

He inspected the troops before getting on his horse. "Men of the 7th we are marching to Rodras. This will be a double march as seen as you all have horses. We ride hard all day and we will arrive early morning or the the day after tomorrow." Barked Aos as he gavebyhe signal and the group road out of the city.

Kaarus

As he had been waiting the woman had come back and informed Kaarus that king Dalam wished to see him. Lazarus made his way through the castle once more and found himself slightly lost in the vast expanses of the castle but it did not bother Kaarus as he was a resourceful man simply following the spiritual displacement knowing that the child might be close to the King. After a long and intensive walk He found his way to the room which housed the king.

Upon his entering the room Kaarus bowed in reluctant respect of the king. As he lifted himself up he begain to speak to the king.

"My lord I have news from the Order of Mariman. The Grand Knight received a vision from the god himself about a young Rordasian boy of royal descent. We feel this is a sign from Mariman himself and I believe your son Alder is the boy. Ever since I've been in this castle I have felt a distortion in the air only caused by people with powerful souls. I wish to take him under my wing and train him as a member of the Order as per the wishes of my superiors. May I see Alder my lord?" He asked the king as I still held my body in a position of respect.

Quo Xago
Terminith Province

Quo snarled as he shook out of a deep meditation, he could tell the natural balance that existed was being threatened or, at least, uneven. He stood up and grabbed his staff to help him walk as he navigated his way out of his hut. He shifted the dirt around him and breathed in before gazing out among his village and the surrounding land. Quo gazed over to nearby orcs, many in armor of some kind as though a war was coming, but they always dressed in this way so it made no difference. Why there was constant armor was just the nature of his people and that would never change and as long as they were readied for a fight, there would always be one to find them. Quo took a seat in an old wooden chair his father had built and it sat outside his hut under a shaded spot where he would await people to visit him with questions, concerns, and ever so often just to see him (but that was becoming rare these days.) As he awaited people to approach him it seemed to take longer than usual, but nevertheless Quo sat back and rested his eyes for a moment, which turned into a long while.

Marcus saw Elenya smile at his decision and couldn't help but feel pleased that she approved. Marcus tried not to care what others thought, and to have a thick skin, but he couldn't do that with Elenya. He cared very much about what she thought of him. He continued walking with her and his sister when Elenya spotted a large figure in the sky. He wasn't sure what it was, but readied himself for a fight just in case when Wanda flew out on her dragon to meet it. "I don't know Enna, but stay back. Just in case they're not friendly."
King Damal watched as Kaarus entered his study. He could tell the man didn't seem entirely pleased by their meeting and listened to what he had to say. He was surprised to hear the order of Mariman was interested in his son Alder. To Marcus Alder had always been a disappointment. He had skill, but seemed to lack tact and the stomach to do what was necessary. "Well, I must say I'm surprised. You think Alder is special? Well if you oh to speak to him have it you way, but I am afraid you may be disappointed. He is most likely out in the hunting ground like usual. You'll find him there."

Prince Derek had flown ahead of the group, even the messenger before him, just to see the Capital for himself. "What a marvelous city..." he thought. Suddenly, he noticed a figure heading towards him. "Is that a ...dragon!" His eyes grew wide. He quickly had Phaeyl stop, and was about to unhinge his crossbow from his satchel till he noticed a figure on the back. He stopped and watched.

As Prince Derek watched as the white dragon moved closer, he noticed with his keen eyes that the figure was probably female, with fair skin and blonde hair. "Possibly a convoy or messenger," he thought, then looking at himself, cringed a bit, realizing he hadn't even attempted to dress appropriately, too caught up to remember to even put on a shirt.

Soon, the dragon rider was close enough so that they could converse. "Hail, I am Prince Derek Sorio of Sefmar, current heir to the throne, with a small envoy of men and griffons. I sent a messenger earlier saying that we would be arriving at this point in time." Said Derek.

Phaeyl eyed the dragon wearily, ready to take a dip. Dragons may have a status of might, fierceness, and strength, but so did griffons, some growing to be huge, and most could definitely hold their own against a dragon.

Ocel
Riverwood Tribal Village

The early morning was blissfully calm. The night was still proudly defying the arrival of day, and thus the sky was still a rich mixture of black and blue. Crickets and frogs worked perfectly to keep the air drowned in their own songs. The small streams and creeks that split up the silent sleepy village ran with a tune that was unmatched by man. Three men sat on a small porch that belonged to the round soft cream colored house nestled gently on the small peninsula in the middle of the large pond. The lights inside illuminated the windows with a bright gold, but outside two small laps hung from the porch roof. The two little fires inside the lamps danced playfully in the darkness. The wooden chairs the men sat in rocked back and forth, only adding the the orchestra of sounds. A fish jumped up from the pond and caught their attention before diving back into the water with a splash.

Finally Ocel, sitting closest to the door and the center, spoke

"What a fine morning. Really captures the essence of our homes."

The man to his right, an older gentleman with slicked back silver hair and close cut beard, decided to voice a question.

"And what has our chief decided to do about protecting it?"

"I'll tell ya exactly what I plan to do." Ocel said turning towards him. "I'm going to send a message to the emperor and head up to the capital."

"What then would you do once you are up there?" Faber asked before taking two coughs.

"Talk to the emperor of course, convince him of our use and our struggle and hopefully with that sign us on as soldiers for his armies. With that we will bring peace to the land. Once peace is achieved, the emperor will have no choice but to recognize us." Ocel stated

"I doubt the emperor has ever seen a "Bogman", his father probably hasn't ever even seen one of us, let alone this pup." Faber said, wiping his mouth

"Exactly, if we are recognized then we can gain protection from the elves, as well as more representation in the imperial government. If we sit here then the elves will most likely attack now that the empire is in shambles, but if we sign with the emperor and bring peace, only good will come. Not trying is more harm than it is good." Ocel said with an almost satisfied smirk on his face.

"You have really thought ahead on this." Farfel, the man to his left cut in. "However, is it worth allowing the other tribes to have this planned stability as well?"

"I have that figured up." Ocel quickly threw out.

"Whatever you say." Farfel said with doubt in his voice

"You two should probably go gather honey before the boys and girls wake up, we may not eat till dusk, but half of our tribe is growing children. They need as much food as possible, to grow strong. The daybreak feast is important for them." Ocel said, motioning with his hand for them to head out

Faber got up and headed out, but Farfel muttered "I hate collecting honey" before standing up. Ocel responded with an unamused voice, "you hate doing anything."

Once the other two men had left Ocel stood up. He opened the door to his house. The inside was warm with light. The walls where the same cream as outside and the floor was a light brown wood, just as soft as the walls. The whole house still smelled of the fresh fish that was cooked for the dusk meal. There was only two rooms to the whole house, a kitchen with it's dining hall where a small table sat, and a bedroom, where a bed and desk were located. Ocel made his way to the desk and pulled the tiny oak chair out from underneath. He sat down and pulled parchment infront of him with some ink. With ink being an incredibly expensive resource to the Bogmen, Ocel had to think about exactly what he was going to write before actually doing so. He finally figured it out and wrote the message down. It was small, but it was mostly just an alert to the emperor anyways. He tied the parchment up with a small blue string and held it out the window. He gave a whistle and waited. There was a dead silence and then suddenly a huge grey owl snatched the parchment and was off within seconds.

That bird has never failed me. I always wonder how it knows where to go. He mused to himself. Dawn was fast approaching and he gave a yawn. He laid his head down on the desk and dozed off.

To Emperor Marcus Huthesen of Anthimal

In light of recent events within both the empire and the province of Ezramor, I am compelled to request an audience with you at the imperial capital. Whilst there I plan to bring to your attention the current standings of my people. I also plan to bring forth an offer that, due to the tensions with Rordas, I am sure you will be glad to hear. If you wonder why I am not bringing this up with the current king of Ezramor, it is because the Bogmen and his people have an unsteady history, it is for the best that I deal directly with you. I will await your response before setting off.

-Ocel "The Proud Tree", Chief of the Riverwood Bogmen

She then heard him introduce himself and due to his looks Wanda came to the conclusion that he was half elven like Elenya was, and wondered if he had faced some of the same problems, perhaps more being a prince. Wait a minute, weren't the monarchs of Sefmar both human? Then how was Derek...you know what...she wouldn't pry further into it, that was a sensitive topic for anybody. She then realized she was probably pondering a bit too long and decided to introduce herself. "Forgive me for my extended silence, Prince Derek." she said, tucking a loose blonde strand of hair behind her ear. "I was...thinking about something." She then gathered her dignity and addressed him. "Well I am Princess Wanda Huthesen, younger sister to Emperor Marcus and heiress to the throne." "For now at least, until my brother decided to have kids." she joked. "He's young and handsome, eventually some lady will snatch him up, eh?" I hope it's Elenya, it would be adorable to have part elven nieces and nephews. she thought. Marcus watched as it seemed that his sister was speaking to the man on the griffon. He couldn't hear what they were saying but was keeping a careful eye on them just in case. Marcus was very protective of Wanda especially since their father had passed away. "What do you think they're talking about?" He said to Elenya next to him. He knew griffons were native of Sefmar, so figured this was were the stranger was from.
Alder
Alder had decided to walk through the royal hunting grounds. There was a path there he discovered that would lead him out to the wild forest next to it. He walked around the forest, seeing animals and insects flying an running around. His father and older brother always warned him not to venture out there but it wasn't like Alder to listen. He continued walking for what seemed like a very long time when he heard a rustling in the bushes around him and turned to it, his hand going to the sword at his side. "Who's there?" He called out towards the source of the noise. He heard more rustling among the forest. "Who's there? Show yourselves!" He shouted again. Alder suddenly felt a hand go around his mouth and his blade being taken from his hand. Alder started shouting curses and thrashing against his captors when he ears a voice speak to him. "Calm young Prince." A man walked out from the forest, followed by a dozen others. The man in charge was huge, with flowing brown hair that went down to the middle of his back. "We have much to speak about."

Lord Athrignan Deathspeaker, the Dark Apothecary
Chillbarrow Holds, Anthil

Rain fell on the ashes of the ruined town of Oakwood, destroyed 400 years ago. Of the oaks that it had been named after, nothing was to be seen. Instead, there was only dark, brownish orange soil covered with the ruins of the town. Rotten bodies of its former inhabitants had melted into the ground, forever stuck in their anguished screams of death, reaching out for the sky. It had been four hundred years. More, the Lord of Chillbarrow corrected himself. More than that. There had since then been no life in Oakwood, and yet, there was now. Unaccaptable.

Banners had been placed around the town, a red flag with a blue stag. An ugly banner. The same colours that were on the woman Magul had brought with him. Who were these people? Why had they entered his lands? Athrignan did not need to wait for long to get his answer. He and his companions were soon noticed as they stood overlooking Oakwood from atop a small hill, sat on their rotting horses. They were not attacked, however. Instead, a group - most likely the entirety of them - rode up to meet them, sat on horses covered by red tabards. They were led by a pompous young man, clad in a chainmail tunic and plate pants, with a longsword slung across his back and a helmet held in his left hand. He shared some of the features of that young lady that had been brought to him the other day: the same nose, and the same chin and cheeks. Same hair color, too. The man had a sharp voice, with some sort of posh accent Athrignan wasn't quite familiar with - these young folks always spoke so different as he had, those hundreds of years ago. Languages changed, he guessed. The man recognised him as the leader of the undead group in front of him, and thus, turned towards the Dark Apothecary.

"And there you are, foul abonimation! We've been looking for you! My sister, tell me, what have you done to her? She was searching through a village nearby and we since have heard nothing of her!"

"What was she searching for!"

"A disease most potent. I heard it killed everyone from around here. We are here to secure it for the good of our family, our house, and the gods!"

"Ah. Did she look a bit like you?"

"..she was my sister, what do you think, abonimation?"

"I am no abonimation, mindless worm. But if you persist to call me that, I shall - "

" - what, monster?"

"...tell this the less nice way. I'm afraid your sister meddled with things she wasn't supposed to. She now serves me as a new jaw for Bernadette over there. The rest of her body has been used for other purposes. Her guts were quite interesting, really."

The man replied, though Athrignan couldn't quite figure out what he was saying. Curses, most likely. He pulled his blade, and as did his men. However, before they could strike, Athrignan's minions had their weapons ready, and began their charge. Within minutes, the slaughter was over, with only one of the invaders alive, and all of his followers still living. Well, sort of. The sole survivor was the noble, and it was clear he'd suffer the same fate as his sister.

"Magul..."

Magul stepped off his horse, and grabbed his mace. He knew what to do.

"...kindly ask this man who he is, and where he's from. Then tell him goodbye."

"Yes my lord" answered Kaarus as he respectfully got up and left the room making his way back through the castle this time with a better baring of where he was going this time. After leaving the castle grounds and heading the the hunting ground the distortion could still be felt. It was insane how powerful this distortion was and Kaarus had only faced a few demons with one as sting as this one. If this is just the unwired power of Alders soul Kaarus would be training one of the most powerful souls in Rordas if not the strongest in the kingdom. Lazarus kept on following what he could feel was the epicenter of the Distortion and followed it through the grounds. As he made his way he walked up upon a young man about Alder's age and description. He walked up behind the young man silently until he was just inches away from him.

"You must be Alder." Kaarus said in a gentle voice.

The young man trine and upon closer inspection it was not alder, frightened the young boy ran off. This was a strange accurance as Kaarus could feel the distortion but could no longer pinpoint the source. The forces started to jumble and mash together making direction hard. Lazarus continued on his way looking for Alder.

Prince Derek
He sat on the Phaeyl, awaiting the females response. For a bit of time, she just stared at him with an intrigued, questioning look At one point, he turned his head and saw the black dots of the rest of his part flying forward. Eventually, the female, apologizing for her delay, stated who she was. "Ah, she is the Princess," he thought, cringing even more. He had met one of the royal family, and assumed she was just a messenger. Well, she didn't know, and she seemed friendly, and humorous. Prince Derek chuckled. "It is quite alright Princess Wanda," he said, smiling. "It would be my pleasure if you would take me to your brother," he said, looking down below

Aros
Aros was still riding over the city, quite intrigued by the design on it. He had noticed that Derek had flown ahead of him, but wasn't to considered. "The boy was taught well, he will know what to do if when he gets ahead," he thought with a chuckle, blonde hair waving in the wind. He could slowly see the silhouette of him appearing in the distance, as well as what appeared to be another creature. It caught his attention, but, as both of them were not moving, he didn't take too much mind, though did speed up his way...
