Occupation- Shaman
Personality- Wise, mysterious, yet prideful,
Bio- Quo, the Wise, as he is known to most who know him has lived his life relatively peaceful and of normal means. He had long studied the Chosen One, Marik, and his tactics that united the kingdom and it's provinces and has still yet to make a decision on whether or not it would be best to follow the path of unity... or one of chaos. Quo and his small band of orc followers were a strong few until the increased demand for soldiers happened, thus leaving him nearly alone, except for the few who sought out wisdom from him. Upon hearing the unsettling rumors of creatures rising to disrupt the empire, Quo knew he had to act or at least assess these monsters and the so called heroes who could stop them. The only thing holding Quo back from totally becoming a champion for his empire is his general mistrust of the humans who have in the past been a mystery to even his magic.

Name- Dalvarien Therin Mandragoran
Age- 3,970
Gender- Male
Race- Homunculus (Human)
Appearance-
Home Province- Sefmar
Magical Abilities(optional)- Homunculus Physiology, Esoteric Lightning Manipulation, Darkness Manipulation, Alchemy.
Notable skills and fighting abilities- Swordsmanship, an old and long forgotten type of magical martial arts combining dark magic and physical ability.
Occupation- Noble, General.
Personality-Dalvarien possesses a complex personality, but more often than not, however, he was often described as twisted, somewhat creepy, and sinister, by a large number of people, though there are always those who are drawn in by his charisma, an can be loyal and almost fanatical in the way they regard him, though he usually just uses them. It's speculated that this was due to the fact that two of his childhood friends died, one of an illness and a weak constitution, and the other in an accident, as well as of course, his father, imply that Dalvarien grew to disdain the fragility of human life and how it affected those still living- as well as the deaths of some individuals he met over time, which led him to desire immortality. To that end, the primary purpose of Dalvarien's human experimentation is to test what modifications the human body can endure and harness a subject's unique abilities for himself. Once accomplishing this goal, Dalvarien has hopes to be worthy of the title of "ultimate being", unable to die and able to achieve his secondary goal to in time, possess and master every kind of spell and magic the world, which would normally take many lifetimes to obtain, and would no doubt be impossible for a normal being. Of course, it's likely impossible still, but that won't stop him from trying.
Often known to be cruel, Dalvarien's agenda made him develop a god complex and valued himself while delighting in striking terror in his first impressions. Though causing conflict to ease his boredom, Dalvarien seems to have no interest in battles started by others. His charisma also attracts a number of followers, many of which he would not hesitate to send on potential suicide missions if for his own personal benefit, expressing some remorse if they're unable to properly complete a task, having no sentimental attachments to any of them despite their values. Despite this, Dalvarien has genuine interest in the development of his underlings and experiments.
An aspect of Dalvarien's personality is also his greatest weakness: his arrogance. He truly believes he is an invincible immortal at times, attacking recklessly against powerful opponents, despite not necessarily being informed as to their capabilities, and therefore not only underestimating them, but also possessing an additional factor that can contribute to his losing. Despite his distinct lack of morals, Dalvarien seems to be well-versed in human psychology and displays insightful wisdom when chastising the more ignorant in such things, including some who have a lack of understanding in such matters. He often shows disdain for those he believes are considerably weaker than him. He's also come to have a thing for death. Dalvarien has a dark and unusual sense of humour. At times his personality can vary; at some moments, mockingly polite, manipulative and deceitful, at another, seemingly honest and caring, and yet another, sadistic, bloodthirsty and ruthless. Despite his arrogance, he tends to be quite cunning. He is a very pragmatic person. Extremely intelligent, he can decipher the true natures of people.
His mind is a complex place indeed. At times. he can be brutal, impulsive, excessively-violent and possessing of a lethally-short temper. However, despite his aggression and obvious blood lust in battle, he possesses a feral cunning and has a knack for quickly exploiting any opening his opponent reveals. In addition, he can be blunt, sarcastic, and quite sadistic, revealing a psychotic grin or laughing maniacally whenever he becomes excited sometimes, or eerily silent, cold and disdainful at other times. He is also very rude and quite disrespectful at times, and mockingly polite, cunning and manipulative at others. He's often serious, yet at the same time disdainful of others, often laughing when opponents claim that they can defeat him, unless they tie in with things he's come to fear. He possesses both a superiority complex and an inferiority complex. He usually considers most other people weaker, and beneath him. He treats them as you might expect, yet when he believes others to be stronger- a rare thing indeed, or they have proven themselves to be stronger, Estraysian obsesses over them, wanting to become as strong as them, yet also seeming fanatical towards them, and perhaps as scared of them. And he can often be a far cry from disdainful, being rather the opposite on other occasions. Estraysian is usually emotionally distant, refusing to allow anyone to become too close to him. When needs be, however, Dalvarien can also be sinister and dangerous. He can be subtle and smooth, manipulating the weak of mind into believing whatever he wants them to believe. He'll tell you that he's only trying to protect you, that he has your best interests at heart. He'll convince you that he's the good guy, that he's just misunderstood, even while he's slowly putting the screws to you behind your back. He lies as easily as breathing and shows not an ounce of remorse. He can seem to be "on the good side", but in truth, he's on his own side. Dalvarien can be blunt, as much as he can be manipulative. There are several facets to his personality, and among them, perhaps even a part that isn't so bad. And of course, due to a certain dark past of his, he has a certain fear or two.
Bio-[img]is original life was unknown, but he was created by an insane female alchemist at some point in the past, being used and treated as something less than human- since he was an artificially created one based off the body of a once living human, with the soul and perhaps the memories being transferred. At an undetermined point, he found himself brought into a noble family, a secret pact between the alchemist and the head of the house, where he was "adopted." When Dalvarien was old enough to understand these things, he became a veracious reader of books of the arcane and sorcerous variety. His father told him to not believe in prophecies, and that the future is what he would forge it to be. Nonetheless, he still regarded such things as important; especially prophecies of the kind that said specific things must come to pass, and when they did, the prophecy would have become validated. Dalvarien excelled in his training, when he learnt to fight with most forms of weaponry. As well as that, he was also taught quite a bit in the area of hunting and tracking, and skill with a bow, thanks to a hunter in the employ of his "father," who taught Dalvarien in such areas. He most notably took to swords, soon surpassing some of the best men in the Crimson Guard- the family's elite personal army. Whilst also learning a fair amount from a number of mages.
He also spent some time in more heavily populated cities, sometimes finding himself using less orthodox means of transport through tightly packed buildings, hence resulting in some ability at agilely getting around in these sorts of environments. There was always something strange with his eyes- said eyes being red- and having an unusual appearance, which apparently was an indicator that he cursed, or something. Having not-quite normal fangs didn't help either. Thus thought most of his family. His "mother" sensed that he wasn't really a part of the family, quietly of the opinion that he was a demon, that had infiltrated the family, and would bring ruin and despair to them, essentially indoctrinating two of his "sisters" that he was evil, and wasn't would never be part of the family, instead being a tainted creature that deserved nothing more than a rather vile fate. Hence, there was naturally gonna be some trouble in the family. Whilst his "father" was generally more supportive, tried to ignore those goings on, instead trying to attribute his intelligence and potential to the fact that he was of his own when it came to an interest in things of the occult, even if they didn't share blood. It didn't change much, though. He quickly became shunned and ostracised, as well as generally picked on, something that likewise happened outside of the family, though sometimes for different reasons. His mother generally acted hostilely, and coldly towards him, generally speaking disparagingly of him. She didn't take much action though, seeing dealing with "demonspawn filth" such as him, something not worth her attention. Instead, she left that to her daughters. At one point, his father saw his mother unleash a particularly nasty tirade of insults, and reprimanded her. It didn't really change much in the long run, however, since his father often spent a considerable amount of time elsewhere, dealing with some of the noble family's affiliated businesses, and with other nobles.
There were numerous points when he was bullied by girls, thus helping him develop Gynophobia, or perhaps Caligynephobia, it's uncertain exactly which. Among other things, they were jealous of his family's wealth, and the popularity he received at times due to his good looks, and more importantly, his sisters were behind it, having spread rumours about him on purpose since they had found out fairly quickly about some of his darker aims, and the fact that he'd used a bit of the family's wealth to find and learn from dark mages. He may have tried to stand up to it once, though that just made things worse, and ended up being something he preferred not to talk about. He also gave up trying to get the discrimination to stop, so he kept avoiding it whenever he could, instead. The fact that one of his weaknesses was the fact that he wasn't exactly physically strong didn't help, either.
One of those times even ended up with him left nearly dead in an alleyway. The personality that had started off as confident, collected and generally willing to express his intelligence became darker, and he became more cautious, wary and introverted. He also got torn between going out a lot so he didn't have to spend time with his family, and staying inside their main estate, so he didn't encounter anyone he might be scared of.
Dalvarien was constantly being driven to do well to maintain the family's reputation, yet also constantly looked down on, as the apparent cause for some of the family's trouble. They often said how lucky it was that it was his older sister that would inherit the position of head of the family. They thought him worthless and his older sister, indoctrinated as mentioned before, even attempted to kill him when he was little out of hatred for the trouble he was apparently causing the family, and the danger that he, even at that age clearly having an obsession with dark magic, represented. Though despite the fact that she had Esoteric Flame Manipulation, he didn't die, and kept regenerating- though it hurt the entire time. That was only around a year after his father had praised him for his potential, so things at that time were rather confusing for him. He was treated so horribly and scarcely fed. And for a considerable amount of time, was always locked inside a dark, small room with no windows; the basement, among other places. He was malnourished, tired and dehydrated. It gradually drove him further into insanity, and he hated the way the world was. His father tried to stop it when he could, but his mother and sisters used all sorts of tactics, diversions and even indirectly causing trouble elsewhere, so his father was to preoccupied, and that, coupled with the fact that his father was the only one with a positive view of him, tended to mean that an end to these goings on was something that couldn't be reached. The chaotic balance of power, and the intricate web of disunity that began to expand within the family made absolute decisions pretty much impossible, meaning his father couldn't really do anything, but neither could those who held him in a rather negative regard simply exile him.
When he could, he often journeyed out from the family home- which was an estate some distance away from Bael'Haroc- perhaps a little closer to the fortress city which owed allegiance to their house, Antirrhium, surrounded by forests, lakes and mountains, going to magical focal points- places of power, and various ancient temples, tombs and other things of that variety, often with magical past soaked into their very stones in various lands, as well as certain establishments for learning and training with magic. He killed, planned and schemed his way to mastery of powerful magics, and when he could not gain power through those means, he befriended magic-users of good and dark affiliations alike, and if he could not turn on them and kill them at the last moment, then he would simply leave when they had taught him all they were prepared to. He also made deals with powerful people, and sometimes beings, to achieve his ends, too. Over time, he saw the world fall into turmoil and madness, settlements burned, bandits roved forests, roads, and villages, with a larger city burning as its own inhabitants tried to cordon off areas overrun by plague, an ultimately futile effort, which villages miles away from the city barricading themselves and killing anyone who came from the area of that city. Dalvarien witnessed a large array of things over that time. Unnatural weather and incursions from warlords and nobles likewise brought ruin, even as starvation was as widespread as disease. Dalvarien grew to become ruthless and skilled, cutting down those whom he could, from trained warriors, mages and bandits, to thieves trying to survive, and disheveled farmers and merchants who lacked food and money both, if they got in his way. Dalvarien returned to his home one time, and discovered that a being that possessed sorcerous powers, had killed his "father" in an unnatural fire. He naturally wasn't too happy, since there was hardy anyone else who seemed to be anything other than hostile towards him.
In a rage, he hunted down the individual responsible and tracked it down to a seemingly long abandoned, chambered cairn. There, he found the culprit, a shapeshifting Elven assassin from Ezramor. They fought, with Dalvarien pushing the assailant into a difficult situation, injuring them with lightning attacks and vanishing as the cairn collapsed from within. He went back to the family's estate, and strengthened its defences greatly, as he did not wish the rest of his family to be in a similar danger, despite their hatred, he had developed a sort of loyalty, just like he had with the mysterious alchemist who'd created him and sent him there in the first place- someone who'd also mistreated him, though the alchemist's whereabouts were unknown. However, despite his intentions, the remaining members of the family, rather hostile towards him as they were, ended up blaming him for his father's death, and using their authority to have him tortured into confessing; though he was rather resistant- the fact that he was already insane meaning getting answers from him was pointless, so he ended up being exiled, and ended up in the lands of the Anthil, where he has other designs in mind, and has dwelt over the past centuries, being involved in various events, and sometimes acting as advisor to members of the royal family.[/img]
