Fallout: The Wild Wasteland

Image

Bullet casings littered the ground. Empty whiskey and Nuka Cola bottles were scattered on the floor. The rotting corpse of some unlucky wastelander was on the couch of this abandoned home, in the middle of the desert. A radroach crawled out from underneath the couch, and made its way outside, looking around the open, barren wasteland for some food. It heard a growing, buzzing and revving noise.

Splat! A raider dune buggy squashed the bug under its tire without a second thought. The raiders in the car hollered and shouted, one shot his rifle into the air a few times. After a few hundred yards, they hit a massive bump and heard a loud noise. A land mine went off and blew out their back wheel; they spun out and were swarmed by tribals. Spears were thrown at the now flipped over buggy, and one of the bandits let out a few shots into the crowd of tribe warriors.

This is the world of 2174. Wars between devolved tribes and drugged-out bandits consume the desert wastes. Only in large Vault Cities is their any safety, and even those bastions have their problems. While the future seems bleak, since this is long before the NCR or the Legion, there is one thing for certain. This region will continue to be engulfed in internal strife. Because war....war never changes...

Deming, New Mexico
Punks Outpost

Two men sat in chairs, relaxing and enjoying the view from their roof. Facing west, the sun was setting in front of them. Hardcore blared through their radio. The first man, looking through his scope on his hunting rifle, spotted a caravan a few blocks down from them, and turned to his friend. "Some merchants are heading into town...wanna go see what we can loot?" His purple mohawked comrade nodded, and grabbed his Chinese assault rifle, and headed down the stairs. They were joined by three more punks, before running down the street.

The caravan rode on horses, and one brahmin pulled a loaded cart. The first punk pulled his bolt back on his hunting rifle, aimed, and fired, shooting the horse out from underneath the merchant leader. The others charged forward, shouting and screaming, firing into the air. The merchants stood, and threw down their weapons when Max, the one with the purple mohawk, told them to.

They let the group move along, but took the brahmin and all their gear. The leader was extremely scared of them, and the put up no fight. Max and the group stole about three hundred caps from them, and a few revolvers and .357 rounds. They walked down the street, triumphantly toting their personal looted items. One wore his new leather jacket, another showed off his .357 Magnum.

Max walked back, and sat down in his chair, next to Skinny, a teenage punk with plenty of face piercings. Skinny lit his cigarette, and Max reached over to the table, grabbing his Jet inhaler. He just saw the last bit of the sunset as he sucked up the chems.

Hardcore Radio!

"And that's another beautiful track of hardcore! And remember, we're always here, reporting news and playing some real music. Today's been kinda slow, not to much action happening here. Mexicans crossed the river and attacked the border town of Douglas. Straight Edge is thinking about sending down some guys to take care of them. Now back back to some music on everybody's favorite station: Silver City Hardcore! This is host, Jack Ripper, signing off...

The city security force, called the Minuteman, marched up the street. Their combat armor, looked almost brand new, their assault rifles and the bayonets on them almost sparkled in the mid-day sun. They marched to a 2 way intersection and split up into 2 separate lines, patrolling the area, making sure everything was in tip-top shape.

Anywhere in the city, you could here the banging of hammers, as men put together using steel form broken buildings and wood from destroyed houses. By estimates, 63% of the houses in Farmington had survived the Great War, lucky for those who got to them first. Luckily, only 6 % of the population of the Vault had missed getting a house.

Jobs were abundant in the new city, the job everyone wanted was engineer, they got paid the most and got the best houses. But the downside was, these men worked day and night to build houses and shacks, and fix broken ones. Besides that their jobs were cleaning the roads, securing a water supply and tearing down large buildings like skyscrapers for supplies and use in factories. Most factory machines from within the vault had been moved out and into larger factory buildings so the production would increase.

Litenuant Jason Parker sat in the bed of the army truck, as it rolled into Farmington. Everyday, god willing, jury rigged military vehicles would roll out onto US Highway 6, going out as far as they could looking for a settlement, and maybe some immigrants. Those deemed unclean were shot. Jason sighed, he didn't like it, but the farmers were stretched thin as it was with the meager supplies they could get, and they didn't have enough food to feed "unclean residents" but if they could increase famring abilities, maybe they could house a lot more residents.

Grey's Camp, Western Territories
The raiders stood around the tent, taking turns with a random straggler who fell off her caravan. Her screams had long since turned to whimpers. The leader of the group, Grey Weston, walked outside, looking around at his set, smiling. Pointing to the next man, he said, "Your turn."
The men let out a howling chorus, then made a low, rumbling growl, as customary of the 80s. Grey turned to one of his lieutenants, Harvey, and asked, "How much you think the caravan is going to pay for the ransom?"
Harvey smiled wickedly. "Hundreds of Caps and plenty more, probably."
Grey stared at Harvey. "You better hope. That's what's going to be feeding you for the next month," he answered with the threat hanging in the air. Grey walked away, turning his head back to see his men, 20 in total.
Grey controlled nearly all of the western sets in the 80s. Tomorrow, he was going to meet with Jonah, another of the war-chiefs. Jonah controlled everything in the east. Not one set escaped his control. Jonah the Ghoul learned how to play the game. Not like Grey. Grey rose through the ranks of the 80s through bloodshed. Challenging other Shot Callers (leaders of individual Sets) to single combat, killing him, raping his children and wife, solidifying his control through brutality. Now? He was one of the 19 war-chiefs, Shot Callers who had control of more than 5 Sets. Yet, all the other war-chiefs controlled the minimum. Grey was going to change that. He was going to kill all the other war-chiefs, gain control over all the 80s.
Grey smiled as he went to sleep, the whimpers of the helpless woman a lullaby setting down his mind for rest.

Jonah's Camp, Salt Lake City Ruins
Jonah sat with his fellow 80s, telling stories of their pasts. Salt Lake City was completely irradiated, at least this area of the ruins. Jonah was with his Ghoul raiders. Several of them were close to going Feral. Jonah laughed as one of them cracked a joke about some Ghoul Hairdresser back East. Jonah was far different from his counterpart, Grey. While Grey ruled with fear and brutality, Jonah ruled using his wits and mind, playing a political game with his underlings.
Jonah loaded his Hunting Rifle and .44 Magnum, signalling to the others that it was time. One of Jonah's Sets had alerted him to a settlement that had sprung up, old Vault-Dweller colony on the outskirts of the city. Jonah knew what he had to do. Jonah was on the verge to convincing the rest of his Shot Callers to move north, away from the looming dangers further south.
Jonah waved over Kerby, one of his close friends, and signaled him to look down from the rubble ridge where they were set up on. The Vaulties had come as planned.
The Set that had spotted the settlers had nabbed one of them, and sparked a little hostage situation. Jonah had promised the Vaulties that if they brought 100 Caps and supplies, the 80s would return their comrade. As Jonah lined his sights up with the Vaulties' head, he thought,
They had lied.
There was no battle. 5 shots were fired.
4 bodies were dropped.
The 5th one ran. Jonah nodded to Kerby, who drew a knife and took off after the runner. As Kerby got ready to stab the runner in the back, the runner spun around suddenly, and fired a single shot. Kerby's head exploded. Cursing, Jonah re-lined up his sights and fired at the runner, the bullet ripping through his left shoulder. Another raider ran up to the runner, who was struggling to try to stand up, the 80s Raider slit his preys' throat, his blood whetting the ground.

The Federation soldiers boot rested firmly on the raider chiefs back. Captain James scowled down at him. Minutes after they had occupied and controlled the town of 30 just 3 minutes west of Farmington, A raider gang had attacked it, luckily, Federation snipers had picked of anyone with big weapons, like bombs. James hated these scum with a passion, and all of them had been wiped out within 15 minutes. He could hear the rumble of an army truck getting closer to the town, no doubt full of the few engineers the Federation could spare at the moment. This town claimed to be a farming town, so that was a plus and the 30 people could increase production greatly. He smiled at his achievement and shot the raider.

The Saints' town: Provo, Utah
Bishop Jacob was preparing the caravan for their expedition to the Jahavos down south when he heard the news. A pair of missionaries saw some rough looking people nearby. They had road signs with the number "80" on them, and were carrying weapons.

"Raiders. We must approach them peacefully, maybe they will be willing to trade in exhange for leaving us alone. Brother Alexander, and Brother Jackson, cancel the trip south. Me must first learn more about our new neighbors. Hopefully they are only exploring..."

Alexander and Jackson continued to fill up the wagon, but added a pair of rifles, hidden under a fur blanket. Jacob gathered a group of the best sharp shooters, and sent them to the mountains near the mysterious 80's people. Jacob gave orders not to shoot any, unless any sign of aggression is shown.

Jacob, Alexander, Jackson, and a few other able bodied men went out to find the people. They were ready for almost anything from a friendly chat with travelling merchants or a dangerous duel with murderous scum. They rode towards the west bordering the Great Salt Lake. They saw Vault 70.

The bishop sighed softly, "One day it will be open. One day our brothers and sisters who were blessed to be in there will come out. They will help us, and we will help them. We will have more safety, our nation built upon the true gospel of Christ will flourish."

"Yes, until then we will have to watch our backs." Jackson said as he cocked a Browning .45 Auto Pistol, the favored weapon for all the saints. It was created by one of their ancestors centuries before.

Tucson, The Red Fang Community

A near endless pattering of foot steps littered the streets of Tucson, on the way to their workplaces or homes. Others conversed in several Polynesian languages, this was the most surprising thing about the majority White land that now surrounded them. Several languages were officially spoken, such as Fijian, Somoan, or Maori but with English only for special occasions. Police units, armed with cattleprods stood at every pavement corner; watching, waiting and pouncing like a crazed dog on those who sought the law abiding citizens of the Fang harm.

Meanwhile, just at the gates to the city, stood two guards who were both armed with service rifles and combat armour. A lone radio blared in the background, with one that was gaining popularity with the guards. 'Silver City Hardcore?' or something to that effect.

The Cavalry Commander Rising Sun looked at the corpses of the small raider gang that they had just killed in the small town of Mancos, North East of Mesa Verde. A few flies had started to fly around their bodies. One had a suprised look on his face, complimented by the bullet hole in his head.
This small town had radioed for support against a raider gang, and the Shoshone gladly gave it. The ambush was a slaughter. Fifty raiders dead, one townsfolk wounded, and no Shoshone casualties. The town now wanted to enter a partnership, paying a small tax in exchange for Shoshone protection. Free trade would be gauranteed by both sides. The Shoshone population just increased by 140 people.

Territory of the Saints
Kiero, a 80s scout, spotted the caravan. The small set of 80s, about 5 men strong, quickly began to pack up, and dashed into the ruins, escaping. Kiero, however, stayed. He raised his hockey stick in greeting.
"Hello," he said, taking off his gas mask, "Who might you be?"
"Because," he continued, "I know who I am. And I am someone who is quite impatient."
Kevin, a Ghoul, the Shot Caller of Kiero's Set, sent his set off in the direction of one of the larger 80s camps, while he began to head to Jonah's camp.

Gallup,New Mexico
After two years the Gallup Radio Station was finally fixed. It played Big Band Music and also messages about how great it is in Gallup and that any weary traveler is welcomed to Gallup. It was big for the Roadrunners since they always love visitors from different areas that come and tell there stories of how it is in the other states.Logan Gurren was there to open the Radio station."Good evening everyone I have gathered you all here today to open our new station...with this we can bring more people to our tribe and maybe allies who may hear this and with that I open this station!"The crowd cheered.

Steamboat,Arizona
The small expedition force of 50 men came into the town thinking it was just some trading post but soon realized it wasn't.When they rode into town they were meet with a local militia of 40 men with revolvers drawn."Easy now."Captain Crow said "we aren't raiders we are just explorers from a Gallup"."Gallup I think I heard of that place before."one of the local men said."Yes we held of the raiders they call us the Roadrunners now."
"That does ring of bell."one of the other local men said.
"Are you going to conquer us."another one piped in.
"We would never in fact we could become allies."Captain Crow said.
"We would have to think about it if you are not going to attack I guess you could stay but we will keep watch."the sheriff said.
"Our people thank you."Crow said

"Hello, I am known as Bishop Jacob, or Bishop Young to my tribe, but you can call me Jacob, if you want. Uh, I was hoping to be able to get to know you, and your people. You have people, right? Not just you? We were hoping to maybe come to some sort of an agreement. Maybe a trade treaty. Or maybe we give you some goods, and you stay away from our people and lands? We are a relatively competent people, and we realize that trade is essential. You help us, we help you. Whattaya say?"

Jacob just realized he talked way too much. He was even faced looking at the stranger, but on the inside thoughts pounded the back of his skull.

I need to keep it shorter next time. Oh well, I didn't mispeak, or say anything wrong... did I?

Commander Shepard strolls through the halls of MacArthur Bunker. Dozens of Enclave men pass by, busy at work. It had been 2 years since he had seen the surface, for the bunker was on lockdown. He was carrying a stack of books that he had got from the library. They were about the United States History, and the war with China. He came to his room, a Vault-Style apartment, larger than most. He punched in the long, 24 letter code, and the Vault door with the Enclave "E" slid open. He walked in, and the door slid behind him. He set the books down on the coffee table and watched his son, Felix, run in. "Daddy!" he yelled, exited. He hugged Shepard. "Hey buddy". Ashley walked in, smiling. "Hey honey, how was work?". Shepard shook his head. "Trying to get everyone to accept the idea that we go up there and reestablish a presence... no luck yet...". Shepard sat down.... "Lord the Enclave is dying..."

((Enclave, our characters are friends and this bunker has 200 people and is like a vault))

Kiero chewed on what Jacob had said. He narrowed his eyes.
"I am Kiero, raider of the 80s, of the Black Salt Set," he replied, leaning on his hockey stick, allowing his monkey wrench to rest by his side.
"I do not speak for the 80s, only one- no, two, people can speak for the 80s."
Spitting on the ground, he said, "Now, you never said who you are."
In the 80s, you are not a 'real' person if you did not have your Set, or people.

Well, my people. We call ourselves the saints. Others know us as the mormons. We are mormons, members of the one true church upon this earth reestablished by Joseph Smi... Oh you don't want to hear me preach to you. In short we are real people, just struggling to survive out here in the wasteland. We have gardens, water treatment, and lots of trade. Fort Bliss, Texas
A pair of guards walk along the perimeter of the nuclear-baked base, service rifles in hand as they casually walk around, keeping vigilant over the base. As they walk on the sun-baked dirt, one takes a sip from his canteen, and spots something in the distance. The other shoulders his rifle, taking aim at the figure. It is a larger radscorpion, and it has noticed the pair. One begins firing, a burst of pinging as brass bounces against the ground below him. The scorpion began wincing as shots bounce against its mutated carapace. The shots find their mark however, hitting it in its soft eye and digging into its skull.

Radscorpions have become a growing problem, the mutants becoming more aggressive and larger recently. The grounds were becoming encroached on, and this was far from the first patrol to come across one. The assault team was busting nests daily, but they just kept coming at the 1st armored.

Additionally, supplies were an issue: The primary motor pool had suffered an indirect hit in the Great War, sealing away precious suits of T-51b armor and heavy equipment. The Division has begun looking for HAZMAT suits to access the radioactive ruins, but still were unable to obtain one. Ammo and weapons were still plentiful, however the acquisition of new equipment was imperative, especially with the addition of new recruits.

St Johns, Arizona
Punk Raiding Party

Straight Edge ordered a force of twenty, in three buggies and one MG truck, to be sent to the north to attack the "Gallup Roadrunners", which seemed weak enough for them to pillage with ease. A quick attack was planned, to shock them and let the punks steal as much as possible, load it on the buggies and run back to Silver City. They were being lead by a woman named Narca.

Narca ordered the group to stop here, in St Johns, for the night. They stopped in a Super Duper Mart parking lot and built a small fire. Some punks at around it, smoking and staring up at the stars. Narca sat in her tent, looking at the map. She decided, about thirty miles ahead, they would turn east and then north, following an older, less traveled road, to attack the Roadrunners from the south.

Silver City Hardcore Broadcast

"Hey there, wastelanders. Keep on rockin'! It's your host, Jack Ripper here, with the news for today. We've heard from some traders that up in Colorado to the north, there's a whole fascist city. Yep. Nazis. Fucking Nazis, oppressing a large town based outside of a Vault. Not only that, but rumors of the Enclave have been circulating around the bar here, in Silver City. Well, here's one for those Fascist Scumbags!"

Hardcore Broadcast

Silver City, New Mexico

Straight Edge sat in his room, the top floor of the pre-war courthouse. He was working on plans for expansion, but needed to know who was around him. So, he decided, he would send out teams to explore Tuscon and Las Cruces. Once Narca returned, he would send her out to one site. Standing up, he heard a knock at the door. Straight Edge opened his door and Max stood there.

"We just got back from Deming. I found something you might like, we looted it off some merchants passing through." He opened his backpack and put a Pipboy 3000 down on the table. Straight Edge had a 2000 model, but the 3000 was much better, and in better condition. He put it on, and instantly started tinkering with it. "Thanks, Max." "Always nice to help and old friend. But, I need to ask a favor...can I borrow some caps?"

"Is it for Jet?"

"Um...yeah..."

Straight Edge sighed. As his name indicated, he did not use drugs. But, he did owe his friend. He pulled out a sack of about thirty caps for his friend, and handed them over. "Now...you have to promise that you'll try to stop..."

"Fine."

They both laughed it off, and then pulled out some cards and started to play caravan...

"We are opportunists," answered Kiero. "I'll bring our leader at this place tomorrow. He'll make a deal with you, or one of your..."
Kiero paused, looking at the caravan. "People," he finished. Kiero then turned around, and began to walk away, heading back to one of the larger 80s camps.

Chief Pocatello examined the beautiful outlook from the cliff he was on. He enjoyed viewing all that his people were building, creating. The murderous organization that had driven his people so close to destruction, the government of the United States of America, was long gone. He smiled and leaned casually on his spear.

He looked down at the local militia, training with their hunting rifles, bows, spears, and leather armor. Some had aquired metal armor and sub machine guns, but only a few. The farms they had constructed, well irrigated from well water yielded a bountiful harvest every year. They were currently green with shoots of corn. Food was astoundingly common in the Shoshone territory, same with clean water. Traders came from all over to the Shoshone markets, trading weapons, armor, junk, machinery, and many other things for the large amount of cheap food and water.

He got up from his perch, and started to walk back to his town, a smile on his face the entire time.

The Federation peace core walked along the road southward, their job was to annex 3 towns/villages/cities by weeks end, and they'd gotten 2, but the third one was 4 miles away, and they were on foot after the truck had broke down. Theyd added 60 people to the Federation , and this next city was supposed to be huge. They hoped it was.

El Paso, TX

The city that was once separated by the mountain in the Old World was still separated by the mountain in the New. The Frontiersmen had been barely scrapping resources despite the bandit attacks from the settlements that something had to be done for 20% of the settlements are starting to have starvation of both food and resources. The Mountain Forum, the annual assembly had came to the decision that they must either find trade by reaching to the outside Wasteland or find new areas to expand to.

The Frontiersmen were not suited for rapid expansion, but their forces can do exploration and with people dying in a rate it was either do or die for them. The water that came from the Rio Grande was radiated and the purified water plant from Vault 52 can barely give much before it will give out. This was a bad state for them so they have no choice but to start sending exploration teams out of El Paso to New Mexico and hopefully in the East were there once small towns or so the old maps of El Paso county says. Hopefully for the sake of the Frontiersmen there will be life in the form of Humans or resources for their dying city-state.
I'm a damn fool, asking me anything is like asking a brick wall the meaning of life. I don't know anything and will never know anything for that is my meaning on this Earth.
Also, to all who roleplay with me. Please understand that I will break the rules, goddmod, complain, break friendships, and will cause nothing but chaos for everyone. So please, if you see me make an app in your RP, reject it automatically and banned me from ever being in that RP. It will be safe for everyone for I am cancer, and cancer must be isolated and destroyed.

Should anyone wish that I am just seeking attention for pity bullshit, you are right. Therefore please don't send any TGs about asking if this a prank, trolling, or anything of the like. Any rationals you come up for my behavior are all true.

The five men stared at the lone 80 until he disappeared from sight. The wagon ride home was quiet. Only to be heard were the sound of the soft wind and the horses hooves beating.

Oppurtunists... nice way of saying scumbag bandits. I cannot lead my people to these barbaric raiders. They must be eliminated, at all costs!
but then Jacob's logic overtook his rage,
But I cannot destroy them. They could be an empire. We have 400 people, only a fourth of that is able to fight. We have half a dozen rifles, and a few sotguns. Well we do have plenty of ammunition, and dozens of .45 autos. We could try to work out a deal, it is the least I can do...

As the small band returned to New Provo, they had a meeting. The news was announced, and a prayer session was held. For two hours, many of the saints knelt in fervent prayer. They started a fast, and their day continued.

That night Jacob continued to pray; for guidance and protection. Not so much for him, but for his people, the people he loved and had promised to protect.

Shepard sat back and rubbed his eyes. He sighed and sat back up. Ashley walked in with a Nuka~Cola. She handed it to him. "Shepard, I feel the same. I want to go back up there and kick those raiders in the ass, but the Council wont let us. Still, we need to be patient. The time will come". Shepard nodded. "I guess your right. I'm so sick of being stuck in a hole in the ground". Shepard sipped the soda. "Just wish there was more I could do". Ashley sat next to him and took his hand. "All you can do is have faith". She stood. "I'm gunna go put Felix to bed, maybe later we can... ya know". Shepard smiled and nodded. Ashley walked away, and Shepard looked up at the Old World flag in front of his Big Screen TV. "This is fucking bullshit...".

The Reich
The Reichstag
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmUnuXIXbp4
On the 20th anniversary of the Reich Chancellor Alexander was due to give a speech to the Reich. In the Reichstag, the capital and seat of the Reich.
Over the microphone
"My friends, twenty years ago today we founded our great nation. A nation built of trust, of unity of the belief that we are our strongest when we stand as one against any challenge."
He finishes up that sentence as a men, dressed in a fresh Reich uniform.
"And we must not forget, that our Reich is strong because we assimilate strength. Next to me stands our newest citizen. Benjamin Smith the ex- chief of the Black Forest tribe."
Applause
" 1 month ago, our scouts reached the village of the Black forest. They were suffering, barely scraping an existence. We showed them the strength of our Reich, the strength of our purpose. And they did what others have done and others will do. They caste off their tribal chains! They accepted our Reich, and we accepted them! For as our nation grows, we must grow stronger by accepting strength. For our Reich is the unity of our collective strength. Because even as we may all have been born of a tribe, our as a vault, with no family outside your own. Together, we formed our Reich, we threw off our differences and united into one people! One Family! and even if we disagree, when it comes to our Reich we will always stand united. Seig Heil ! "
The whole Reich arose as the anthem was played https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtDmYeqfcYM (In English and adapted for the Reich)

Few hours later......
"Beautiful speech chancellor"
"Thank you George, I must say you are doing an excellent job in the tribal assimilation Ministry, that is the 5th tribe this month, Incredible!"
"You humble me sir, If I may, A radio station may help."
"Excellent Idea! I trust you will do what you do best, get results"

"This is Federation radio, bringing you the songs of patriots, this song is called : Battle hymm of the republic"

The rebuilding of the city was going great. The engineers continued to clean the streets so the jury rigged army vehicles could get down the road, along with the Ambulance(A army truck repainted white with a top over the back) They'd just finished the base of a 20 foot high wall surrounding the Soon to be capital city of their empire. The wall was to be 3 feet thick and 20 foot high, and it would take a long time, and after the stone was laid, a lot of metal plating and barbwire

As Commander Rising Sun of the Shoshone Cavalry returned to base, he glanced at the fortifications being constructed around the perimeter of the entire Mesa Verde. Already, the South and East rings of defenses were complete. Barbed wire, stone fortifications, the whole works. Although not impenetrable, the people were that much more protected from raiders and other wasteland creatures, although few had shown up recently after the Shoshone war parties had killed most of the threats in the vicinity.

As he and his regiment rode up to the Chief's residence, he saw that Chief Pocatello was discussing something with a well dressed wastelander. The man looked like he was relatively important in his dirty, yet classy, pre war business suit.

Pocatello looked up at his most trusted commander and grinned. "Well, Rising Sun, how was the operation?"

"Raiders eliminated, town firmly under local control. They have agreed to pay the taxes and eliminate tariffs. They are essentially ours, just with local autonomy and laws. They will respect our rule though." Rising Sun explained.

"Excellent! Well this man..." Pocatello gestured toward the man, who nodded to Rising Sun, "is the mayor of Cortez, who would like a similar agreement."

"Hello Rising Sun," the man offered a hand, "I am Mayor Leeroy. I would like to have such an agreement, as a band of feral ghouls have been troubling our people from the North recently. We have already signed the agreements, retaining our local autonomy but paying taxes and pledging mutual protection."

From the way he spoke, Rising Sun could tell he was a politician, although not necessarily a bad man. "When will we ride out to eliminate them?"

Pocatello answered, "We will give you a day for you and your men to rest, and to familiarize yourself with new weapons and new recruits. you are familar with laser pistols and rifles, correct? Well, Mayor Leeroy has given us some laser weaponry and power cells. It appears his town of 500 has the capacity to produce them. Already, 50 new Cavalry recruits have trained themselves with the weapons in your absence. They will accompany you on your mission, along with 50 horsemsen from Cortez. The weapons are still somewhat rare, and production capacity is still just emerging, so it will be some time before you are all equipped with them. You soldiers can get some rest now. Good job."

Rising Sun nodded, smiled, and went to bed with his troops following him.

Total population of Shoshone Empire: 3540.
Territories: Mesa Verde, Cortez, Mancos.
Production Capacity: food and water (abundant), ammo and basic firearms (moderate amounts, mostly repair and reload), and laser weaponry (extremely limited, but still developing).
