Not necessarily. Chernobyl did spread radiation, but it was just fallout on the prevailing winds, and it dissipated eventually. Fukushima- or a better comparison would be the Pacific nuclear tests- didn't spread that much either, and that was hundreds of nukes, not just a few.

Brief (Paragraph) Description of your nation's history since the 2020s: Turkey's economy was very hard hit by the drying up of fossil fuels around the world. This caused the near complete destruction of turkey's economy causing social unrests. This eventually lead to Riots erupting in cities across turkey as the government was unable to provide relief to those affected by the economies collapse. This lead into a long and bloody civil that lasted well into the 2040s. This civil war was not only against the government but also along newly rekindled Religious and Ethnic backgrounds. In the end turkey collapsed to form various smaller nations. One of the most powerful of them was the Megacity state of Constantinople, the city had grown to once again become a Christian and Greek city after it was occupied by a rebel group know as "The Army of the Purple Phoenix". In the peace following the war Constantinople flourished into a large and modern Mega-city of 20 Million ruled by a king who was the former leader of the Army of the Purple Phoenix who had ambitious dreams of reinstating the Byzantine Empire. In the end he was successful in raising an army to conquer the lands the belonged to the Byzantines. Starting in the year 2053 he started a long war to unify not only turkey but the entirety of the Byzantine Empire. In the end he was successful he managed to successfully subdue the various nations and was able to annex diplomatically those that where too powerful to be conquered. In 2058 he proclaimed his conquest complete. In the following two years he has spent the time try to improve his new realm.

The sun is setting below the mountains in the west the last of the light glinting off of the water. a few cargo ships are slowly sinking below the horizon with even less coming in. The city bellow the mountain (whose name has been lost in time) is a glittering jewel as it is one of the only cities with a self sufficient electricity and water system. The "old town" has been sunk for years but a few of the taller structures can still be seen sticking out of the water.

Chancellor Fredrickson sat at his desk going over some last minute paper work just the usual things: blackouts,rising crime, large immigration from The City just north of the caipitol causing unemployment to rise and a bill about disaster aid after flooding near Los Angeles. When suddenly a the phone on his desk rings.
"Yes who is this?" Said the Chancellor
"This is your receptionist Maria the Council requests your presence in the Legislative Hall"
"Huh...okay tell them I will be their immediately."
"Also sir? Will you need. Anything else I think I am gonna go home."
"No nothing else thank Maria you can go home." Then he hanged up.
Fredrikson then quickly cleaned up his desk the hurried to the legislative building across the street. As he was riding down the glass elevator he could see the city gleaming against the black background. As he stepped into the street he saw a few people hurrying home from work and some shops closing up with a few still staying open for some much hoped for late night business. He walked across the street and into the Legislative hall where he was greeted bye statues who too the likeness of some very important early politicians in the Republics history. He saw the statue of General Esqavez who helped united the Republic into what it is today. George Taylor who brought great social reform to the Republic. He also saw many many others who are all very important in their own way. The Council Chamber was a large round room with a dome that had a painting of the Battle of Jefferson the last battle of the Unification War. As he stepped in to the main Council chamber he saw both the Low Council assembled on the left and the High Council assembled on the right h all that was left was for him to take his position in the center so the meeting could take place.....
