What the vault dwellers discovered was not much more than an empty city in ruins. But, out in the wilderness and the deserts of the American southwest, tribes of survivors wage wars with each other, and make contact with the Vault Dwellers. Some worship them as gods initially, others shun them was evil spirits, but sooner or later, those that emerge from the vaults are recognized by most tribals, and they coexist. But peace cannot ever last, because war......

Hello All! Welcome to another get together for a great roleplay within everybody's favorite post-apocalyptic universe, Fallout This RP will be taking place in the four corners states, with some of Texas, California and Mexico available to play in. Long before the Legion ever was even a thought, this southwest wasteland consisted of a few vault-based civilizations limited to metropolitan areas. The wide tracts of land outside city-states occupying the ruins are dominated by wild tribal peoples who rule expansive, loose nations that war with each other. As a few failed vaults released wild and crazed lunatics, which has lead to a rise in raiders attacking the city-states. Basically, this will function like the wild west, only in a Fallout setting.
This is a faction based RP. You can play as a raider group, a vault city or a tribe. Each of the three function differently and play a different role in the social structure of the post-apocalyptic warzone. Tribes are large, sprawling and decentralized, but lack major coordination or equipment. Bandits are extremely small and mobile, but are constantly infighting and are not of the governing type. The vault cities are very well armed and defended, but have trouble growing or expanding out into the world, and are more or less cut off from each other, which is why currently no federations have risen.
THE IC
Notes:
-Vaults were only built under major cities. This means vault-based communities (which are semi-common) are limited only to urban areas.
-The tribes are survivors from the war who lived out in the country and basically devolved. Many have their own languages, religions, and cultures. Mixes between Native American culture and pre-war culture are common.
-Mexican Raiders come across the border to generally screw with everyone, selling drugs and enslaving people. Be careful (You can play as them!)
-Tech levels are extremely low. The first vaults in the area opened up in 2160, so 14 years would mean that the Vault Dwellers are using up the last of their current supplies from the Vaults, and starting to use weapons from wastes. Tribals use mostly melee weapons, with bows and spears being common. Guns are reserved for elites.
-Power Armor is extremely rare, and no one knows how to operate it (The Brotherhood of Steel has not made it here yet)
-Energy Weapons are found exclusively in Vaults, along with robots
-Horses are commonly used by tribals and raiders
-Jury-rigged trucks and dune buggies are somewhat common
-Vertibirds are all currently damaged. Using one would require locating, repairing and then fueling it
-Ideology can play an active part in factional politics, but I don't think there are to many communists here
-Ghouls. Uncommon in these parts but not unheard of. Still given shit by the locals, and especially the vault dwellers
-Religion is definitely part of tribal wars, not so much in cities or bandits
