A ship graveyard would be delightful! Imagine how many relics there might be!

An imperial ship graveyard would indeed be a good find. Though without a salvage ship retrieving any components might be difficult. unless we can reawaken the drives on the ship in question and get it back to a shipyard that way (assume however, that the ships are too beat up to take as our own.)
Curious and industrious, PMT sharks in an FT setting.
factbook is WiP. but a basic overview of our species is below:
population (remaining, estimated) 6000
State religion: not enforced but every member of the species follows the Cult of Pas Mathéma in some fashion.
Goverment type: Council of 5 heading a technocratic fuedalist society
Govermental sovereignty: protectorate of the 44th independant legion; large independant but ceding to them for interstellar politics and trade
Military power: on an FT schale next to nothing, since our total number of starships is for now 0.

Re-awakening drives? That's a tech use test. That's my speciality.

Let's not walk into the Nexus of Shadows quite yet, even though I do want some pretty toys like a shadow field and a Blast Pistol which I'll request to have linked to my fashionable monical. Than again there is the Consorvana Ring an organisation I would like have as a trading partner (the Explorator would find what they could provide intresting as well). However knowing what's over there I'd prefer toughening up the party before heading in there, and building some reputation.

Do either of you have any kind of priorities as to how it's focused? heavy weapons? Unusual Addons? Mercantile? Detection? Exploration? Tougher? More Maneuverable? etc.

In this order; Detection, Mercantile and Manoeuvrable.

Detection I rate as the highest so that we see trouble coming from far away as possible, perhaps even help with finding valuable salvage.

Mercantile so that we can increase our wealth fairly quickly and then eventually upgrade to a better ship or start a fleet.

Manoeuvrable, the more agile we are the relatively less hits we're likely to take.

I want a ship that is sorta a jack-of-all-trades, with maybe some advancements in some departments such as more maneuverable and unusual addons.

Also, I vote for a Sword as well.

Manifest Destany

Although her keel was originally laid for the Tolirian crusade, brilliant maneuvering and a series of crushing victories promised to bring the crusade to an early end and eliminate the immediate need for additional battle fleet escorts. The sudden victories, however, had left the Ecclesiarchy with dozens if not hundreds of worlds left to convert and insure compliance with the Imperial Creed. To that end the ministorum paid for the completion of the new vessel, changing her purpose from combat to missionary work, a task which saw the living and working quarters built up in the great gothic cathedral designs befitting her new owners.

Plying space lanes recently scoured and often patrolled by the Imperial Navy, the Manifest Destany’s goal was faith, not firepower. And in that goal she had a long and successful career, boldly heading to new and strange worlds to bring the light of the Emperor. After a century and a half, however, the sector was considered secured, and the ship’s missionary work turned to simple diocese tours for the local cardinal. Over time her machine spirit grew sluggish and blind to this routine work, and after a near disastrous collision with an asteroid, she was retired in favor of other craft.

The Rasputin family saved her from this retirement, and found her a more than willing participant in adventurous life of a Rogue Trader. Finding themselves in more dangerous straits then the old priesthood, her original macrobatteries were stripped and replaced with a bank of powerful, if volatile, plasma cannons. Other than these new weapons, however, much of the rest of her structure was kept as the Ecclesiarchy had ordered it.

During his accumulation of power, Victor Rasputin took the Manifest Destany and made it the anchor of his dynasty’s power as he started a long and winding tour through the halo stars. Although some of her former elegance and material trappings are gone, she remains a powerful and dramatic beacon of the God-Emperor at the far end of His sight.
Speed 8, Maneuverability +20, Detection +30*
Armor 18, Hull 35, Turret 2, Repulse Void Shield
Power 44/45, Space 40/40, Morale 108%, Crew 100%
Machine Sprit: Adventurous, Past: Emissary of the Imperator.

Components:
Jovian Pattern Class 2 Drive, Strelov 1 Warp Engine, Gellar Field, Exploration Bridge, Vitae Pattern Life Sustainer, X-470 Ultimo Array (Vessel is Easier to Hit, +5 Enemy BS Tests), Voidsman’s Quarters, Compartmentalized Cargo Hold, Temple Shrine to the God Emperor, Librarium Vault, Vaulted Ceilings (Common Quality), Ryza Pattern Plasma Battery [Strength: 4, Damage:1d10+4, Crit Rating: 4, Range: 5]

Not seeing a lot of traffic today, so I thought I’d post what I’ve got so far. Looking over what people asked for, this is what I came up with. The Sword was the most popular, so I started there. After that, Detection made it onto everyone’s list, so I make sure that had a good value, and Adventurous helps that as long as you’re acting in pursuit of endeavors. Maneuverability came up several times, so I kept the Swords +20 intact, as well as her 8 speed. The Vaulted Ceilings gives it that extra cathedral feeling, while the Temple Shrine and the Librarium provide some interesting and related add-ons. Cargo hold makes sure mercantile options are still open. Someone asked for big guns, so she’s got one powerful set.

Upgrade Options: She comes in right now at 46. If people want to spend assets/profit on initial upgrades, there are a couple of options. 1) 1 point will replace the Compartmentalized Cargo Hold with Shadowblind (smuggling) hold. 2) Two points will upgrade the gellerfield to a Warpsbane hull. 3) 1 point will exchange the cargo hold for a barracks. 4) Restorations of her former glory, ie. Displays of wealth or upgrading the quality of the Vaulted Ceilings (or any other component for that matter)

Honestly, as much as I wanted a raider, she meets all my needs, she's quite zippy, great detection and manueverability, grants a few bonuses to nice abilities and starts off with 108 Morale and a full crew. As much as I want an excuse to complain about her, not even the +5 to being hit is much. I'm a little worried that she's a tad fragil but she's got good armor and if she does get damaged, that's where my Mechanicus Crew will come in handy. :)

Cargo is big, unfortunately, so you'd have to gut out a lot to (at least 4-5 space) to get in a second hold, unless your willing to sacrifice maneuverability, which doesn't appear to be an option. Now, if you guys manage to find a modified drive somewhere down the road... :)

I like that, a lot. Good work on it, too. I don't know too much in regards to those stats, but they look pretty decent. And if it is a version of a Sword with additions made to what people suggested, even better.

I have no idea what my asset/profit points are (or if I even have any), but if I do, I'll spend a few for some upgrades if people want them. Options 1 & 2 are nice, but I can live without them at the start.

Those stats are actually pretty nice for a frigate.

I like it lots.

In the future we can replace components with better versions to open space and add a few things more. I'll ponder if I will buy the Warpsbane Hull. It is something a navigator might get, as a matter of fact.

So while rereading the character creation stuff in the book to see how much fortune bonus you could start with (+4 so far) I realised I could have done another peer, however I did the logical conclusion of taking logic, even though I suppose having the academic people being friends with me could be a very good asset...
