And Many Russians will be happy with the change. Especially if they are religious (Which most Farmers/Former Serfs and Former Soldiers are) or Patriotic (Many Factory Workers and Urban People are). It shows how far we've come from being enemy of the Byzantines to the Sole Reason Byzantia exists and that we saved Constantinople from becoming Islamic (We've been De-Islamizing it for a while now).

Just stop, many peoples eyes are becoming blind.

Also just stop trying to justify the change in capital, a lot of people are going to get pissed off and there's nothing you can do about it.

Fine, I'll stop the Smilies.

I'm not denying Russians won't be mad, your denying there won't be any Russians who won't like the Change. There would be Millions of Russian People who would support the move, just as there would be Millions who would despise it, just as there would be Millions who are neutral on the Subject all together!

Also, Poland is still mine; I just gave them Autonomy, not Independence.

Well, look at it from the perspective of their newly conquered lands as well. Moving the capital might appease the minorities there as it shows Russia is changing to accommodate its new possessions. However, it could also eternally enrage the Islamic people.

I do not think Russia would be able to hold those Islamic lands much more. The Muslims will have a jihad and probably win as it is to spread out.

I'm well aware, lol. It was more of an indirect appeasement that might not have the majority of your empire loathing you.

Edit: And if the Muslims jihad and attempt to jihad into the Holy Land, under Papal Protection (aka the real reason I won't give it up) in comes Catholic Europe to defend it. If they desire a modern day crusade against them, so be it.

Well, thank god there's still a sizable number of Islamic people in Turkey that I can use for rebellious purposes.

Diplomatic recognition, material support, and a supply of weapons would be good.

We wouldn't get Jihads, as the Caliphate has been destroyed, Persia is in my possession, and the Bedouins and the Egyptians are too backwards to fight me. If anything, I'd get an Infitada (Basically a Rebellion), but they haven't happened yet, and by the time they would, Islam will be on a serious decline.

Also, one thing I want made clear. This is not an alliance between Russia and the Papacy, nothing of the sort. This is an appeasement for the papacy so that HH does not petition all of Catholic Europe, along with negotiating deals with other powerful nations around the world, to go in and tear him apart all of once. Which could have easily happened, might I add. However, the Russians were wise and appeased HH.

And, popes die. Nicholas could kick the bucket tomorrow for all we know, which would bring a new pope. The next might not be as pro-peace as the last.

Edit: In regards to moving the Russian capital. Why not do what the government of the Netherlands does? The monarchy is based out of Amsterdam but the entire government is based out of The Hauge. Move the monarchy and Russian Orthodox Church to Constantinople and keep the rest of the Russian government in St. Petersburgh

That may be so, but we are united in our quest to seek independence from Russia, just as the Balkan League was united in their quest to kick out the Ottomans from Europe and were mostly successful.

Well, Dangelia, I have a feeling you'd know more on the subject then I. How would Russians feel if Constantinople was the new Capitol of Russia instead of St. Petersburg? I'm letting you decide.

They wouldn't be happy. As Orthodox they do identify with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. But Constantinople is Greek, not Russian. The Russians already have a patriarch and patriarchate in Moscow. It's best that the capital doesn't move. You've already done some really crazy things, anything else, and you're gonna be in trouble with your people.

Very well, we aren't going to make Constantinople the Capitol after all. However, we are still going to be building a Castle there (For Vacations!) and we are still Re-Orthodoxing the Hagia Sophia.

Thank you Dangelia.

Still, many Russians will not be happy about the change from a city that does not hold any significance except the fact that it's the center of a religion and capital of a continuation of an empire that was at odds with Kievan Rus', their ancestral state.
