Japan was just as modernized and united, it had just as good of a fleet as the U.S., it even had more people. It still lost to the United States.

Japan had one big-ass weakness; the Home Islands have no oil, and all Japan's oil and main industrial goods had to be imported. Very difficult to do that when you're blockaded.

China doesn't have that issue.

Ok. Spain i might join just to protect the Philippines but nothing else because an invasion of the mainland US is just suicidal.

Japan lost a naval war. China is much different beast. China has larger resources, Isn't as overstretched and has accesses to the world's largest population.

Yet all that advantage is reduced to nothing because you lack a superior fleet. There is nothing stopping the USN from taking huge stretches of China's coast, hell, even Russia couldn't provide enough ships to stop them. With a combined Spanish, Russian, and Qing fleet we could defeat them. Not even mentioning Germany and Siam.

When a joint declaration of war from Qing, Siam, Russia, Germany, and I is issued, do not be surprised. We will divide up America under new colonial lines, or separate it into various puppet states. You are going to be vastly outnumbered and will fall quickly as the hordes from the East and West descend upon your cities.

We can end this now, if you agree to give up Florida.

I know what im doing. I acted before your pact solidified so there is no reason for the other powers to intervene, your on your own.

Good choice. We will protect the Philippines, destroy the United States Pacific Fleet, and advance to Hawaii or Alaska (possibly).

Hopefully Russia is on board as well?

There is a lot of reason for other powers to intervene. They can join the war at any time, if they want. Your uncalled for imperialism allows them to defend a friend like Spain and put an end to U.S. "World Revolution".

Quite an interesting choice. You had two options; invade before the pact, or after the pact already got embroiled in another war, and you chose before it solidified. Which, if you think about it, puts other members of the pact in a far better bargaining position in regards to Spain.

Anyways, I have made some rather lucrative deals via TG which you would do well to take not of and not invade.

So I'm looking to get more involved with the inevitable conflict in the Americas. Africa doesn't exactly offer me the greatest opportunity for involvement, so I'm thinking more along the lines of South America.

NS Name: Hawaogopi
Nation Name: The Empire of Brazil
Head of State Emperor Dom Manuel III
Head of Government Prime Minister Hermen Preto
Flag:
Image

Claims: Brazil, Uruguay
Capital City: Rio De Janeiro

Government Form: Semi-Constitutional Monarchy
Ideology: Liberalism, Nationalism
Foreign Policy: Generally neutral, though increasingly leaning toward anti-Communist nations
Civil Freedoms /10: 8/10 for men, 5/10 for women
Political Freedoms /10: 6/10
Economic Freedoms /10: 7/10

Military Name: Brazilian Imperial Armed Forces
Military Size: 365,600 active duty, 110,000 paramilitary/militia

Description of Your Nation's Economy: Mixed market
Description of Your Nation's Government: Emperor retains large control over executive decisions pertaining to domestic matters. Prime Minister deals with non-conflict related foreign relations. National legislature elected by male constituents, holds authority over many civil legal matters.
Population of Your Nation: 41,124,455

Alternate History: After the House of Braganza ruled over an independent Brazil, the succeeding emperors liberalized the nation as years went by. With the abolition of slavery in 1902, Brazil began a speedy process of modernization, seeking advice and know-how from European nations. By the 1930s, Brazil was the most modernized, liberal nation in South America. Infrastructural and educational investments became the priority of the Emperor, with the discovery of natural resources pushing Brazil into a higher position of power. Women and indigenous minorities in the nation remain an oppressed class, as socialism becomes increasingly attractive to the "outcast" classes of the Empire. Although by no means as powerful as its European comrades, Brazil, by 1938 had become a complete success story within South America, residing as a regional power within the continent.

Spain will be condemned heavily by Europe (lol) if it tries to go through with destroying the US. Besides that, I doubt it has the ability to win the war. The Spanish government must be incredibly stupid if it is willing to risk world war. Granted this RP is about starting it, but it shouldn't be about acting ICly overly-stupid just for the sack of starting a world war.

And god it looks like Europe is in a horrible position. Germany and Spain are on its homeland borders. Lasalliana (South Africa) has an imperialistic zealous nation on its border. Indochina has China and Thailand on my border. Egypt and the Congo got the Spanish bordering them. Like my enemies border me everywhere.

*cries*

What should I commit myself to? Europe is the main goal ofc. Indochina is not that important in all honesty, but I don't wanna loose it out of prestige and other factors. South Africa is way to valuable and I definitely need it. It'd be nice to connect Cairo to Le Cap (Cape Town). French India will be incredibly valuable in mobilizing soldiers, especially considering that they are a domain. Indonesia doesn't seem to be threatened. Same goes for the French Caribbean and French Guiana. Ergh, so many options.
*Huzzah he lives!*

Nah, son. Britain was all like "yo, why my colonies be all uppity an' shit?!" And Lord Durham laid it straight: "they be wantin' legislation with representation, dawg."
